Huge question man if you can please answer it ASAP... I just bought the Mbox 3 Mini and I see it uses USB 1.1 Do you know how the latency is on the Mbox 3 mini?? Because before I open the box, I'm thinking about returning it and getting the regular Mbox 3 becuase it has USB 2 which will reduce the chances of having latency. Thanx
i got PT 8 but i cannot find this dam Latency link. I looked under the options tab and all the other ones, but i cant find it, where is it? can anyone help?
@EyeDoStuff That Feature is only available for the digi002/003 interfaces.. if you have an mbox you have to play around with the mix knob on the mbox and mute the recording track....he fails to mention that this feature only works on their 002/003 line
can some one help me i cant get the audio to play once i click on record so i cant punch in the audio is mute for some reason when i hit the record button when i take it off the audio come back help please
Nice vid.....I've been wanting to get my own kind of "studio" to record my music as well. How much would a setup like that cost? ...can you make drum beats in Pro Tools too?
it depends on what you're planning on doing. personally, i wouldn't settle for anything less than an HD system, a nice console like a DM2000, floated floors and walls, and a great array of mics, along with a waves mercury bundle and a few outboard compressors. allll that could easily run you $50,000+ BUT... lol you could always buy an mbox mini for $249 and settle for that.
Low latency monitoring is only available in the LE version not the M-Powered version. For M-Powered users you can reduce latency significantly by lowering your playback engine samples to the shortest time that will permit you to record without erroring out. The only other way is to pull a feed off of the input source through a mixer external of the DAW.
I got Protools (Mbox pro) using my macbook pro, and latency is always there, no matters what you do. but when I switch to GARAGE BAND using the same Mbox pro. Garage band don't have any latency at all. whats the deal here?
You need to go to "setup" then "playback engine,' when you are tracking and there are few or no RTAS plugins active reduce your H/W buffer size. You are running on a macbook pro so i would not suggest going below 128. When you are done laying down all the tracks and it is time to mix, then pull the H/W buffer size to 512 or higher. All depends on how much automation you are doing, what rtas you are using, how many etc....
Where can i download some RAM? he...he...he -insert troll face here-

bjames28 1 year ago
@bjames28 i set the DAE playback buffer size to level 1, and 128 buffer size for recording, and 512 for mixing

Adjust your buffer sizes to match the number of tracks you are working with on a regular basis and you will find the latency diminish a great deal.

@supersonicprods Did you lower the buffer size? try to keep it below 128
