that does seem odd. as i recall, his was a 5024UD whereas mine was just a 5024. We both got our 4010's from the same person on ebay. he had a lot of about 5 of them
I did not see you push the button in how did you reach the lever? Also when you first put your finger on the handle why did it click? Is it for somone blind to find the alarm
It's hard to tell but I did push it in, you have to in order to grip the handle. And the click you heard was just the cover pressing against the back of the pull station; the push button switch inside that activates it is constantly putting pressure on the cover until it's deployed (which closes the contacts when the switch pops out) so when i push in the bar it hits the back of the station.
The fire alarm system at the Davis K-8 school did Slow March Time as well. They have a Simplex 2001 system (originally a 4246, 4208 or similar older model) with 4051 horns on 4050-80 light plates, 4251-30 pulls (the break-glass T-bars), a few newer 270-SPO pulls, and two of the 4051s are on SAE AV32 light plates. When they put in the 2001 panel, they also installed a Simplex graphic annunciator in the main lobby, and 2098-9806 test stations in various places.
Yep, it was a good one, the NAC's just up and quit on me one day; as soon as an alarm would come up, the panel would go right back to normal after the NAC's failed. This 4010 is a pretty nice one too though; it's not only addressable but it puts out filtered dc instead of FWR so all of my horns sound better.
In my opinion, it's not too bad. I managed to get a hold of the manual, and if you know all of the terms and get used to the way it operates, it's not that hard to do. The only thing is you can only do certain things at certain access levels and knowing which can be confusing, so when I program it, I most often just log in at the highest level and go from there. The interface is really easy to use making programming and operation pretty easy.
Can the 4010 run non-addressible devices and 4603 annunciators?

Really weird how you an xsk8r114 both had a 5024 and then it broke, and then you both got a red simplex 4010....

bakepatient 3 years ago

weathermaniac1 3 years ago
You mean coding-wise? That was slow march time (20 bpm)

what would be cool was if you connected this panel to the MS-5024.
WheelockAlarms 3 years ago
Sadly it broke and I had to sell it for parts. Otherwise, I agree.

the MS5024? Man that sucks that was a cool panel

are you going to put this panel up where your MS-5024 is?
WheelockAlarms 3 years ago
More than likely, but it is considerably bigger, so I'm not entirely sure.

nice! i have one of those, i've never seen one in red!
