seriously i opened it up once and it made a high pitch noise that wouldnt stop so i went to the store they fixed the other month it happened again so dont get this laptop i am goin to get a mac

i myself for the most part dislike a majority of name brand computers... like HP and Dell etc... the bios are locked on most of them so you cant have fun with them, you cant make it custom.. of course this is a laptop and those ya don't wanna mess with due to the small space and heat issues.. lol

Different design, pro is better : less shiny...

I might get the non Pro version of the U400. Some of my friends say that if I'm going to spend the money I might as well get a Mac, but I dunno. I'm not going to lie, Macs are better quality, but I have no special need to spend ~$2000 on a Mac.

I have a toshiba from 2003 or 2004... An A15-S127 and it works amazingly still. I think I'm on board for Toshiba's only. I've had nothing but good experiences.

Yeah, I have this notebook, and overall it's a good Toshiba, It runs everything I need it to run and is very useful. I have the satelite a135 version, its the same as any other basically, I really think you should go towards this notebook, if you change your mind the next laptop I recomend is an HP.

that looks like a very nice laptop, for some reason the screen doesn't look nearly as small as I'd expect for a 13.3"... I'm curious, when did Toshiba start using the bigger logo on the lid? (it looks a lot classier now)

I like it. Looks nice. I have an earlier model Satellite that has a very shiny cobalt blue finish, looks nice too, except after a couple minutes of holding it and it's covered in smudges and finger prints :P
