The biggest problem today with MCs in my opinion is the fact that people follow trends and dont put much effort in to being original. Back in the beginning, it was all about being original. That's what pushed the artform and made it progress so rapidly.

It doesnt take a lot of talent to be a rapper in the first place. Even the good ones have pretty much Musical no talent at all. Rap is poetry not music.
