She will surely step down when she gets damn good and ready. Right now, she looks great, sings great and appears to be having a wonderful time. (And still has lots of fans). If you are half that youthful and energetic when YOU reach 70, I know you would just love to have some wet nose telling you to "slow down [somewhat]"
Back yonder, no one could touch her vocally. She was the best. Now that she's pushing 70, I think she might consider stepping down, or at least slowing down somewhat.
Right or wrong, I'll always love old country music like this.
