@bw2082 I do start too slow here. I believe that most pianists take this piece too quickly, and deprive it of the processional character that it should have. I settle into a more normal tempo by the second statement of the main theme. Totally my own failing.

you can make whatever justification you want about your tempo, but it's still terribly slow and ponderous
