@TenaciousDchord Fact is, both classic sonic and modern sonic levels were more fun than the sonic levels of SA1/SA2, so there's no real point in going back.

Treasure hunting isn't exactly a fan favourite either, but being able to play as Knuckles like he was in SnK would kick ass.

@TenaciousDchord Well i play sonic since the old days of the genesis and well i liked all sonics i liked them all untill heroes on the ps2, i couldn't get into heroes though some people liked it but idk i couldn't get into it, then Sonic 06 came out not gonna lie i liked the story until people started calling it bestiality while i found nothing sexual in sonic's relationship with the girl, but the long load times killed it for me the bugs didn't bother me much but it felt slow at times.

@TenaciousDchord Then there was unleashed and once again not gonna lie i did like the werehog but i did find the werehog levels to be too long and then the daytime levels a bit short for the portables i found all 3 advance to be pretty good i even liked sonic battle both rush games were awesome too i didn't like rivals much though could've been made better. That's pretty much it.

@raptros I never got to play unleashed. The only sonic games I've played is from the original sonic the hedgehog to 06. Me being a patient southern person, the 06 loading glitches didn't bother me as much as most people say it does, but I still felt it annoying (06 was a pretty good game though!!!!!!) I belive that the 10/10 awesome memorable sonic games ended after adventure 2. I liked heroes as just a cool game and I played Shadow the Hedgehog a lot!(I mean A LOT!!!)

@TenaciousDchord sonic adventure 2 was the best and I don't think there can be a sonic game better than it. As far as disappointing ones go; pretty much everything after 06. The main reason people give new sonic games such a hard time is because they want sonic adventure 3 and that can never happen. The only way I see that happening is if they listen to the fans suggestions, get all the old voice actors back (like the black Knuckles), bring chao back, and Jun Senoue play all the music again!

@TenaciousDchord i hear ya, im am a huge fan of both SA but i'm not necessarily asking for a SA3 i'm just happy with any good sonic games sega can make, do you think generations was a good sonic game personally i loved generations i got it for christmas havent beat it yet because i keep replaying stages time and time again because i just loved how the layout of the levels makes em feel like they're some kind of roller coaster with several optional routes to the same goal.

That for modern sonic, For the classic i find that just like old times the levels had that sense of danger because of the camera you'll run into danger and you'll only notice once it's too late, not to mention i got the biggest wtf of any sonic game when in crisis city i see the goal sign and i'm "woah, goal? already? cool!" then the whole thing just floats away and i'm like "O.O WHAT THE F****??!!!"

From the beginning both sonics are amazing, classic has that young feel to him where he does resemble a kid modern for some reason is the only sonic that talks and his character does feel older then he's counter part this is also reflected by his voice actor i heard many complaints but if sega's idea was to give sonic the impression that he's older he nailed it with the English voice actor after all sonic IS 20 years old. the whole package is amazing,

My favorite thing has to be the levels layout and the music. they got everything pretty much right for both sonics classic feels classic with the platforming and that danger where if your not careful and paying attention it will get you killed, modern sonic feels modern with the speed and some parts needing some fast reaction times, and of course fitting the whole sonic's crazy guy that loves adventure attitude.

Something i forgot to mention is that the levels are not entirely linear, there are several routes and options you can take for both modern and classic. and the levels are not small but are not huge either i think their the right size.

And then there's the music and man did sega nailed it it's like Sega watched youtube and their fans and noticed how people loved sonic music and decided to not only make remixes of original songs and i advise anyone to listen to them because they are amazing but also include their original versions and you can actually swap and choose what music you want to listen to while playing the level.

This game fuckin beats the shit out of Sonic Heroes and the Sonic games all following that. The levels were fun. I liked the super fast speed in Sonic/Shadow levels, blowing things up in Tails/Eggman levels, the Treasure Hunting (yes believe it or not), the soundtrack is the best of any game I've ever played (even better than Zelda), I LOVED the Chao Garden, I loved being able to go back for extra missions, and much more. Easily by far best Sonic of all time in my opinion.
