Yes, but you cannot decide that the spider can eat the fly. The spider can eat the fly if the fly goes into the spiderweb by herself, otherwise it's against nature, because a human being (you) decided what to do between the 2 animals.

I remember watching spiders almost this up close (when we were young) in two's pitted against each other on a stick (cruel of us). The lesser warrior gets wrapped up just like that wasp...Often, we would "steal" & discard the poor prey & deprive the victor of its cannibalistic intention.

Superb! I have hardly any spiders in the garden this year, don'yt know why!! I use to have some big females, who don't mind the odd wasp!! I'm not as good to them as you are, though.. they have to catch their wasps themselves! Hopefully I'll get some spiders again this year.. I think it could be the weather, as we've haven't had much black- opr greenfly either, i.e no food for tiny spiders to eat and grow big.. :P

Yes, it is.. Couldn't see properly, but I think it'a the same spider as we have (normally), it's called common garden spider here, but in Swedish it's 'korsspindel;', meaning 'cross' spider, due to the pattern on it's back..
