  • After reading the comments attached to this video, all I can say is "America is doomed". To have such hatred for anyone just because she didn't dispose of a special needs child is a crime to humanity. Also, to belittle Glen Beck for having morals only shows how depraved the average u-tube viewer is. I'm all for the right to choose since it's your average liberal that's doing the self exterminating.

  • @trekker8342 "After reading the comments attached to this video, all I can say is "America is doomed". To have such hatred for anyone just because she didn't dispose of a special needs child is a crime to humanity."

And that was after I removed the most vile and vitriolic of the bunch!

  • Glenn Beck is not proletariat friend, but is enemy to state. Couple of year of re-education is fit for Mr. Beck, put hair on his girly chest.

  • Sarah Palin... just a another politician, though in candid moments, seems like a nice mother to her kids, but not so news worthy. In public, she's an embarrassment to both conservatives and substantive thinkers, far too much hype fomenting around this sycophant.

  • check out FOX NEWS THE AMERICAN TERRORISTS song and video Ken Dixon words and music.. They have created far more suffering to our country then all the terrorists combined go to you tube and check it out

  • read magna gerber: IMHO Sarah Palin is guilty of child abuse. The way she threw young Trig into high-stim environments is shameful.

  • I have respect for Glenn Beck in the sense that I agree with what he says until he starts to elevate himself to the likes of Jesus, Ghandi, and Martin Luther King Jr.

It is then I lose all respect for him, because all those great men exhibited something Beck lost along the way, humility. Those men let others elevate them into the status of greatness.

Both He and Palin are not the leaders of the Tea Party.

    Allen West 2012

  • This has nothing to do with politics. Respect to the private Palin...kill the politcal Palin!

  • Glenn Beck thanks for the truth... i truley do believe your Special Daughter has taught you more then any human could possibly have.... your on her level. I am glad you two have each other its an incredible match sent from heaven. GOD BLESS

  • "this has nothing to do with politics" yea sure.

"God gives those children as a gift to TRULY amazing people"

"I have a daughter of special needs"

So becks basically complimenting himself. I do think everything he said was sweet but I think any politician with a special needs child would say the same thing, hopefully anyone would love their child and see them as a gift.

  • She is a flash in the pan, and knows less than i do, up and comming, nope just a media joke

  • This seismedia is pushing a democrat agenda. He obviously is working for the party or some blind believer.

  • @cpal861 "This seismedia is pushing a democrat agenda"

LOL, think so, huh? You got a dossier on me or something? Why don't you go through my posts and see if you can guess my position with a little more accuracy and a little less haste.

  • @seismedia sorry about that haste seismedia. I'm so used to posts that push liberal agendas. It seems that is the only information on a lot of the internet. It is sort of rare to actually read comments like yours.

  • SARAH PALIN SHOULD CALL FOR THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF THE MISSIONARIES IN HAITI SINCE AMERICA DOESNT SEEM TO HAVE ANYBODY IN THE DRIVER SEAT AT THE MOMENT. OBAMAS a DISGRACE.

  • Is there any particular reason you have to lace your comments with obscenities and disparaging remarks?

  • what is obscene?

there is no god, down syndrome is a fairly easy to explain condition.

  • "what is obscene"

Ignoring for a moment the offensive substance of your argument, your words are laced with profanity. This is what I have termed obscene.

    "there is no god"

    Prove your assertion.

And, yes, Trisome 21 is easy enough to understand, but the cause not so easy to explain. What's more difficult to explain is how some folks are able to embrace the role of raising and caring for a child of down syndrome in the same world where others, like yourself, are void of any such compassion.

  • cause of tri 2: women age @ conception is crucial. and genetic propensity.

no god: all matter of the universe amounts to "zero" then there is no need for a primal motor.

now "simple minded" ppl think of a deity to explain extra chromosomes but there are better explanations. if you are offended for reality, pray about it, you will feel better, imagine a god and you will have it... i myself embrace science and remain happy

  • With all your prattling, you fail to recognize that we know what Trisome 21 is. It's not a biology question, it's how you deal with life when you get a curve ball. Science is great and it shouldn't conflict with true religion, but it doesn't by itself build character either. You come across just as dogmatic as a religionist with your clinging embrace of the unfinished work of science for all your answers, but many have access to both science and faith in their lives.

  • How can one prove the assertion that there is no God, when God is not provable in the first place. That is why it's called "faith".

  • "God is not provable in the first place"

Agree with the faith comment, but God is woven into every bit of our lives and "faith" can also be termed as the ability to recognize that. You don't need "religion" or "dogma" to have faith, just a bit of looking beyond the finite realm of our relatively short lives.

  • @seismedia Speak for yourself. I have never noted any god in my life. Whether it be YHWH, Zeus, Odin, et al. And to be perfectly honest, I'm content to keep gods out of my life. The whole lot are a bunch of trouble makers, and generally ask for more than they give.

  • @qawamity "I have never noted any god in my life"

Ignorance of the obvious is hardly a merit worthy of bragging. But carry on as you wish because of all the gifts a benevolent creator can give is that of free agency.

  • trisomy in the 21st pair.

that is not a gift from god, it is the result of an extra chromosome.

  • It's hard to decide if I should just block such an inane comment, or take the time to explain the subtlety of taking what life gives you and make the most of it. Regardless, have a Merry Christmas and may you see the good in things that you have missed in the past and going into the future, have experiences that unfold how rich life can be!

  • Well, to put things in a proper context, we almost didn't survive a Democratic Presidency combined with a Democratic Congress. You are obviously one of those duped into thinking along party lines. If you can't see it for yourself, trust me, it's a one party system with Us the people versus Them the government and our best hope is to have them hamstrung and grid locked in opposition to each other, keeping them out of the way of people who have some skin in the game. LEAVE US ALONE!

  • DarkPhoenix...where do you get your information from? Our economy was only strong during the later end of Bill Clinton's duration due to the fact that he did NOTHING during this time (i.e. free market capitalism delegated the economy). And FDR...was the WORST president ever. "The New Deal", ya, great idea. Let's just print a whole lot of money that will help. Oh, wait, no that just causes HYPERINFLATION. Hmm, this sounds familiar....$787B *cough* *cough* $1T healthcare *cough*...

  • Hey brew, you're spot on correct, the economy was in pretty good shape when WJC took office and by 1993 with a Democratic majority in congress was starting to sputter. I remember struggling in 92/93, driving past vacant offices in the heart of Silicon Valley. I think restoring the balance of power, neutralizing the parties, and hamstringing Washington so it couldn't meddle was what let the economy rip. Well, nothing lasts forever:)

  • do not forget printing the money for the bail outs with no strings attached, no transparency, no idea of whether it worked.. (700billion

  • You're comment trails off, but I think you're critical of the $700B bailout pushed by the Fed and Treasury. If I ever liked Bush, I would have had to have questioned how easily he caved to these well dressed thugs. Of course, now we have a completely corrupt administration that don't even pay taxes or have criminal pasts that wouldn't survive the background check of a night security guard at a mall, but that's the beauty of elections, we get no better than we deserve, right!?

  • there is no god and it is sad that people waste their lives on this imaginary loser

  • Tell you what is sad, is some atheist troll that goes around venting his anger on a God he believes is imaginary. Now, THAT is a waste of time!

  • all this political groups are just smoke and cameras when it disappears they are at parties getting drunk talking shit. fuck the congress and the judicial system and the executive branch its time for a revolution.the powers that be are not worried about us

  • Young Cat, your language aside, I agree with you that for many politicians, the ideology that separates them isn't so much. Maybe this congressman is a Republican because his family goes way back in the GOP or this Senator is a Democrat because he polled his home district and would come out better as a Dem. What's different are the electorates, the voter base. Republican voters really expect more than pandering from their guys and as a matter of fact, often even reject government handouts.

  • Excuse my French. Am just really anger at this corrupt officials and even more at the idiots of the people who argue against invisible party that is just a Hollywood drama. This nation is done. America(Babylon)has fallen

  • Well, it's pretty close to "done", except for one thing and that is the will of the people. More and more, it's going to depend upon the individual to be valiant and discerning. I'm sure it wasn't easy being a good German when the Nazis ran amuck, and it won't be easy here if Obama's individual smear campaign gets underway in full force. He's already started with the AIG executives and the hold-out creditors blocking the Chrysler sale. Who will be the first political opponent? Beck or Limbaugh?

  • Beck or Limbaugh?they both are puppets.you think this news media doesnt have beck in their palms?all the stories he tells have to go through the top.its propagenda.i dont believe a word of what the news says.telling lies is what they do best.

  • I don't care what you think of these guys, but neither are puppets. Both are half pundit, half entertainer, but factually, they are free agents with independent contracts. They only answer to their audiences (which are pretty substantial). So, get back on your lithium and cut the paranoid "propaganda" nonsense. MSM (aka OHB's "press corp") is the real source of propaganda these days. But back to my prediction, it's going to be someone LIKE GB or Rush that gets skewered by the smear campaign.

  • pick up Machiavellis the prince book. As he states in it that a prince(obama)always needs an enemy(fox news/rush/GB/hannity/ etc) this is all a game to them. Its all government propaganda. obama needs a public enemy. obama and bush are no difference. Bush and Cheney did everything to be hated and split the country. Just so obama can bring them together .its all planned. Even the 2012

  • I'm familiar with Machiavelli's work and his thesis is quite adroit, but that doesn't make it so with Rush and Beck. As a matter of fact, I'm not even speaking of Rush and Beck specifically. I just used them as too highly visible examples which would be subject to a smear campaign. Rush has already been smeared in his doc shopping for meds, from which I believe he was acquitted. What I'm suggesting is the in the near future, OHB's smear campaign will take down some fierce political opposition.

  • I have absolutely no confidence whatsoever in Sarah Palin, and it truly blows my mind that anyone could accept her as a VP nominee when they had no idea who she was. Her performance on live interviews was downright frightening when it came to Supreme Court cases, not to mention her knowledge of foreign policy. It was like watching George W. Bush run for president all over again; albeit Palin is by FAR more articulate than George W. Bush; which isn't saying much.

  • That's ludicrous. That someone would worry about Palin, not knowing who she is, but would cast their vote for a half term (part time) senator from Chicago without knowing who he is, and never being able to pin him down on what he would actually do to create change. Good change, bad change, pocket change? The press fully vetted Gov. Palin and could only talk about shivers running up their legs when it came to Obama. I think that's why he won, he was a dark horse all the way up to election eve.

  • sarah palin is a Godsend She may not know where Africa is but neither do most americans. she doesn't know the "bush doctrine" but who gives a shit. she may not read alot of magazines but who asks that kind of question anyway? sarah palin is an ORDINARY and EXTRAORDINATRY human being. she is alot like people of her social class ie. middle class yet she understands the importance of her job, her uncorrupt heart, and her knowledge of the One who gave the talents and gifts to do this and raise Trig

  • Contrary, she knows both where Africa is and in spite of Gibson's ambiguous and contextually constrained inquiry, did understand the "Bush Doctrine". These allegations and attempts by the left to portray people with ideological differences would be hilarious if the press didn't so readily jump on board to further the damage. Case in point is ridiculing Palin for her CORRECT interpretation that the Vice President PRESIDES over the Senate. Chris Matthews ridiculed her to his own ignorance.

  • From Article I, Section 3 of the US Constitution:

"The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided."

Indeed, it is Mr. Biden who stands in ignorance and it will be he who is derelict in duty for failing to meet with members of congress if he pursues his stated course to reduce the role of the office of VP.

  • There's only one other spot in Article I where VP is mentioned in and it states that if the VP is absent or executing the (executive) Office of President, at that time the Senate shall establish a President of the Senate pro tempore (for a time, temporarily). As for "supporting the policies of president" as Matthews put it, there is no such language and at one time, the VP used to be the second runner up in the election, so it's historically significant that the VP would NOT be so constrained.

  • that's exactly why matt damon nailed it on the head. it would be a disney movie if she was VP. she belongs as mayor of alaskan, not filling cheney's boots

  • Well, I'd rather live in Palin's Disney movie than Obama/Biden's Nightmare on Elm Street. I can't imagine what this country will look like in 4 years under those two. The only chance this country has is for the Supreme Court to live long and the Congress to balance out next election. Otherwise, get your boots and shovels 'cause we're all going to be digging ditches in this "new economy". Ah change you can believe in!

  • you know. something tells me that anyone who opposed this Obama administration did so for SOCIAL reasons, and NOT economic ones. You can try to disguise your feelings toward him as economic, but when the vast majority of economists in America, and the international community at large AGREE with all of Obama's proceedings, then I'd say he's pretty much right. Abortion, Religion, or maybe cause hes Black? BTW tax breaks to the rich = no result. ever.

  • You've got it opposite. Obama is socially attractive (not meaning social policies, but demeanor and charisma) and I know a lot of conservatives that became interested in O once McCain took the lead in the GOP primaries. It was his economic comment of "spreading the wealth" that scared the tar out of anyone who isn't on the government dole. That's what scares most people now. Our key to social freedom is our economic freedom, and the debts O is taking up are putting us & our kids in bondage.

  • No, my dear poster. i think you missed my point. At this point right now, we are just beginning to see some life from our economy. And stop with this spread the wealth thing. Stop it. STOP. its old, and we've moved past it. it will NEVER happen, and Obama never WANTED it to happen. The bigger point is this: If you agree with conservative economics versus liberal ones here, then you value tax breaks to the rich. Sorry, that the incorrect answer, sweetheart.

  • I would that you were right about the economy, but there's only one way for a government to fix an economy and that's by decentralizing, incentivizing, and getting the hell out of the way so that the industries and their workers can get back to creating wealth. Moving money around and starting/stopping government programs doesn't generate wealth anymore than a lottery. It does a good job at redistributing wealth though... Any life you see in our economy right now is just the "dead cat bounce".

  • To comment specifically on Obama, "spread the wealth" were his words and not some mischaracterization. If he doesn't want that, then he lied when he was campaigning. Will it happen? It's already happened. Except it's back fired. All those people who wanted homes but couldn't afford them are now out on the street. Those who HAD jobs are now laid off. Where did the money go? Mostly overseas (German banks, etc.) or into pockets of corporations. And at Obama's hands it did go! Liberal Economics 101.

  • Everyone, including conservatives said that Obama ran the best campaign. Maybe the stupidest thing he did was go out of his way to legitamize that joe the loser guy, and then accidentally make a comment like "spread the wealth". what he meant to say was to bring the tax rates back to normal (clinton years). Conservatives wont ever admit that he later clarified his statement. Conservative 101=Rich people getting tax breaks. Sound unfair? it is. Sounds like feudalism.

  • First, a good campaign does not a good president make (Nixon), but agreed, BHO ran a good one. Second, calling Joe a loser doesn't make it so, but frankly, in a few years we'll ALL feel like losers. While Barry might try to restate what he meant, he said what he did without teleprompters and is probably as genuine as it gets. Of course, he'll never deliver because under his current plan, no poor people are getting any richer, we're just going to destroy wealth and watch it accumulate elsewhere.

  • Another point, is that bringing taxes back to "normal" has no meaning. In the Founding Fathers' vision of the Republic, government was to be small without a heavy tax burden. FDR is the one who redefined normal as high taxes as he attempted to COMMAND the economy, but short of WWII, it failed for 6 years. (Are you ready for six more years of the last 6 months? or are you hoping for a world war to save our economy?)

  • And stop it with "the rich" and "unfair". If the government keeps their hands off, we can each be as rich or as poor as we'd like, based on how hard we're willing to work. I fear as a nation we'll never know prosperity again as we had it after Reagan. 20 years of almost unfettered growth, growth so robust that we could ignore the inefficiencies of bureaucrats and lobbyists. But no, congress got greedy and built an electorate dependent on handouts and we'll soon uncover the tipping point.

  • No. your wrong. and heres why. A: The best economy this country has ever seen has been under Bill Clinton. Obama is implementing his kind of policys. B: FDR helped the economy before WW2. Fact. C: These are all semi irrelevant points because debating about the past is pretty useless. The fact is that everyone else in the world as well as the majority of economists, and professors, and smart people in this country agree with Obama. Trust the world, and smart people, seis

  • Yes, we had a great economy under Clinton. If we can restore the balance of power between executive and legislative branches in two years, we could yet have a great economy under Obama. No, FDR did nothing for the economy except bring it to the brink of disaster before the war saved his sorry ass. The past is the past, but those that ignore it are doomed to repeat the failures of the past. As for economists and your "smart people", we'll see how smart they are, but I put my trust in...

  • the people that actually have some skin in the game and some money at risk. And that would be the capitalists. And not just the rich capitalists, the everyday folks that have money in the stock market through 401Ks and IRAs. And them folks are scared right now and for good reason. DJIA has fallen to lows of below 7,000 after OHB took office. While it's recovered to 8,400 in the recent 8 weeks, the fundamentals are still very unsound. Smart people know you can't borrow your way out of debt.

  • >Oh wait, lets have Ted Nugent on again...more riveting Tv.

    >Shouldn't your show move over to Fox

Wow, Cockiemoo, you were spot on. GB moved to Fox over four months after you posted your comment. He didn't announce until December, so you must have had an inside scoop on this! BTW, Nugent may be a bit rough on the exterior, but speaks plainly and with less pretense than pedants like elitists on the left.

  • This "Blog" is now closed. The Beck piece wasn't even about Palin as a VP pick, but about a successful governor who, in spite of the sacrifice necessary to raise a special needs child, took up the task with a positive attitude and without shirking. She carried her Trig to term, went through labor, and still managed an 80% approval rating as Alaska's chief executive. Kudos to compassion and the human spirit. Those that derided her or worse, ridiculed her new born son, are of no consequence. Adieu

  • Uh, all babies are a gift. Abortion is murder, and it's nice to see someone who unselfishly chose to raise and love her child. Who goes back to work in 3 days? Someone with a nanny and who takes her child to work with her. Don't be an ass.

  • Boy, can't win for losing. People that indulge in abortions take issue with mothers going back to work. No way to please these folks.

  • Who goes back to work THREE DAYS after giving birth?!

  • Thanks to Sarah Palin for doing her job and being a mom to her special needs son. It is what is expected, but admittedly not everyone steps up to such challenges. Thanks also to Glenn Beck for bringing her to the national stage so she could render McCain un-electable.

  • I don't know if Governor Palin should be cheered for seeing her pregnancy through term, I don't think that's the focus here, but that she took up the labor with love and has a good attitude. Maybe she's just putting a good face on it, but there's only so much you can hide and the scrutiny she's faced with the Media has left me with the impression she's 1) as genuine as Glenn originally presented her and 2) less articulate than hoped when under said scrutiny and antagonism from the press.

  • I don't think John McCain needed anyone to render himself unelectable. (Just in case it seems like I'm kicking the guy when he's down, I held that view before the election, which fact you can confirm by looking back on older comments.) I don't know how McCain drew the crowds which he did other than maybe the number that showed up are the same that are horrified at what the next four years under Obama are going to bring. McCain's problem - he had no compass guiding his statements. No principles.

  • Anyone whose principles are individual liberty, and understanding that capitalism is the only system that bans force from human relationships. Any principled conservative would call Falwell an agent of intolerance. True conservatism is about protecting individuals from the tyranny of the majority. The religious right is about banning the sale of alcohol on Sunday, and banning books in libraries. McCain had principles but found out that you can't win the republican nomination that way.

  • I agree specifically about some of Fallwell's comments, that they are intolerant and ignorant, but I disagree that the religious right is only about banning indulgences. I think Fallwell's Moral Majority was about reclaiming religious liberties from a slippery slope of licentious encroachments that had crept into our society in the 1960's. The liberal media was quick to vilify and paint Palin as a religious wacko, but the evidence is to the contrary, that she's pretty normal with a few quirks.

  • "I disagree that the religious right is ONLY about banning indulgences

"I am not saying that they don't have more on their agenda besides limiting freedom, but that doesn't matter. There is a large minority of conservative Christians who are NOT in favor of individual liberty. That is a problem if you want to call yourself a conservative (in the sense that you want to "conserve" the essence of freedom and small government that America was founded upon).

  • I concur, there's definitely a significant number of the Religious Right that would like to curtail individual liberties in favor of social morality. There's a line somewhere to be drawn - a society has to somehow develop a set of commonly espoused values, but it has to establish a balance where my liberties and beliefs don't impinge on yours and visa versa. There's also social policy, where a society curtails individual liberties because collectively we know certain things would be destructive.

  • Our society change in the 1960's because young people were tired of the religious, old government controlling their lives. The only reason why this country survives is from progressives changing policies for the current times and not "old world" times in which Fallwell and the left think about.

  • He has his principles, but Obama was better and people voted for him.

Republicans need to ditch their religious nuts and go back to what they were pre-reagan.

GOP were the ones that created a national education where all americans can be educated (no longer for the privilege) they wanted a universal health care, national parks and freed the slaves!

No they want to destroy everything!

  • Who has principles!? McCain? I may not like the "O", but I wouldn't say McCain is any more principled. That's why he lost so much of the conservative vote. You have to realize that while Democrats can win by their good looks and by pandering to the lazy masses, Republicans will eventually get vetted or will only last one term if they aren't truly principled. There are some wolves in sheep's clothing, but with McCain, the wool wasn't thick enough and the right never got too excited by him.

  • a freak are you blind? Republicans and democracies are just an illusion. Money is your government. Republicans and democrats just benefit from hush money that comes from big businesses. check our corrupt money and see how prisons are going to outnumber schools. fuck this government and all of every ones political relations

  • I concur to some degree, in that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, no matter the party affiliation, but the difference is the constituents. If a Democrat fools around with interns in the oval office, the supporters rally behind the president labeling moral charges as old fashioned and inappropriate. However, if a Republican spreads his legs too far in a an airport men's room, not only are the Dems seizing the political opportunity, but the GOP voters are just as angry!

  • oh yeah thats why Clinton got impeached right? And bush didnt just get head he stole another country and killed many more but he served all his time. And was reelected. The GOP is supposed to have more of a moral obligation as most are religious people. So when they dont do such things they get blamed for not putting up the image. But democrats are more on the atheist not really religious side. So you mess up its all good.

  • That's my point exactly! Remembering that Bubba did in fact get impeached (in the House of Reps), the support for that was entirely republican. Now Nixon, who did NOT get impeached, was about to get impeached because the Republican base was furious once they got over the denial stage. That's why in spite of both being severely scrutinized, the political outcome was so much worse for Nixon, his voter base (and the voter base of Republicans in Congress) wouldn't stand for what he had done.

Adieu

  • I had no idea Sarah Palin went back to work a few days after Trig was born. I didn't think she was the right woman to be in The White House but I'm glad she is so devoted to her family. I'm glad Glenn said what he said. Sarah Palin is a good person.

  • It's hard to tell what the comment above is really saying. I sense dripping sarcasm. Suffice it to say, that in the almost 150 thousand views of this video and the 700+ comments it has generated, I've never witnessed so much vitriol and hatred, and such cast at Palin only because she has conservative values. If the media pundits hadn't exhibited such similar hypocrisy, I might have thought it an anomaly. For those that were actually fair minded, whether left or right, thank you for you insight.

  • Seismedia, never said I had groundbreaking ideas and that all of them would fix the world. So, once again, someone of your caliber puts words into someone else's mouth. And if you haven't realized by now, my generation has to weed through and survive through all the "brilliance" of your generation.I am not saying that you do not have your reasons for your opinions or that all of them are wrong but how bout you just step back outside of the circle you've imprisoned your self in and look around.

  • Trackman, youth is great and you'll spend it looking for ways to make things better when you aren't enjoying life's excesses. But periodically, you'll need to look back and see what failed in the past and defer somewhat to real wisdom. It's hard because you've got the colleges and universities filled with liberal historical revisionists. Look for guidance through principal and then you don't have to have a position on EVERYTHING. Assume people are good but that act in their own self interest.

  • Palin's daughter has shown the result of no sex education or maybe the teaching of abstinence.

Palin should have turned down this VP pick - she already has a son with Downs Syndrome.

I wonder what would've happened if Obama's daughter was pregnant?

According to recently published data, children taught abstinence turn to Anal and Oral sex, which are equally dangerous.

He admits he didn't know a GOP had won in Alaska but somehow he knows she is doing a great job.

  • Speaking of anal, you're pulling your assertions from your butt. "According to recently published data" - you mean what some hack said on Huffington Post or some liberal blog? You're just a hateful intolerant miscreant. The election is over, your guy won, give it a rest!

  • You know it is funny that such an ignorant, arrogant, and truly blind conservative as yourself is even on such a "liberal" site as you tube. Furthermore, kuskut is right. I myself being in high school not to long ago know what younger Americans are doing these days. But just because you cannot see past your little white picket fence does not mean it is not true. But, I will give you the nod on the foreclosures comment, it is very true, the market should be left to those who can afford it.

  • Yah, I remember how smart I thought I was when I just got out of high school. Thought all my ideas were ground breaking and were going to fix the world. Thought that my ideas were original and my own. Then I travelled the world a bit and realized that the new boss is the same as the old boss. Won't get fooled again.

  • I think the reverse is true. Look at how both candidates responded to the economic crisis. McCain sought to extract maximum political advantage from it but that badly backfired. Obama sought to look at solutions.

McCain's not a bad man, unfortunately had he got in he would have been stuck with the same neo-con personnel that dictated the direction of Bush's administration. And look at the almighty economic and international mess they have created.

  • the economic mess was not created by Bush. It was bad loans and mortgage companies that were not regulated. And guess what else the democrats tried to stop regulation because they were in the pockets of these mortage companies and banks.

  • While I agree that the fault is not Bush's and most rest on the shoulders of Dems like Barnie Franks, I suggest that it was not the lack of regulation, but corrupt regulation at that hands special interest groups like ACORN to whom Franks and many other liberals pandered.

Interestingly, we are discussing the Democratic "experiment" to re-distribute wealth as if we thought "hyuk, hyuk, let's give it a try", when the CRA that created the mortgage crisis was doing exactly that - putting people...

  • that could not otherwise afford to purchase houses into houses. At the end of the day, they couldn't make it work because it didn't actually teach the "underclass" people who to improve their circustances. Face it, taking from those that earned and giving to those that need, and doing so by force or compulsion doesn't work, never has. We've replaced "Trickle Down" wealth with "Trickle Up" poverty.

  • Awesome way to say it. Nice.....hope the correct people real this.

  • There was some regulation however it was not enough and democrats tried to stop legislation to regulate them more. But you are right there was poor and corrupt regulation

  • It's not a matter of how much regulation, but of the quality of the regulation. I think the lesson here is that self important congressmen and women, senators too, should learn to stop messing with the marketplace. Just like Mother Nature, you can't fool the market. It will eventually come back and in double force penalize those that mess with it. The liberals wanted to affect the outcome, giving houses to those that hadn't earned it and now what do you have, a bunch of foreclosures.

  • but her grandparents were. her parents were consequently economically, politically and socially disadvantaged.

have you ever wondered where white supremacist "ideas" and attitudes come from?

have you ever wondered why black people were lynched in the USA? and why racism continues to this day?

THANK GOD, be it a he or she or Christian or Muslim or Jew or Sikh etc.

and GOD BLESS AMERICA for doing this great great thing. I am British and, boy am I proud of you people. THANK YOU USA!

  • you bush supporters wont admit when your wrong. thats why i changed from republican to indipendent. and now im leaning more towards the democrats.

  • o god emcmxxxvi- number one that was a college thesis and two it was not racist. what has all the presidents before hand do? looked out for their own. i mean the first bunch were slave holders. so stop bitching obama in all his speeches recognized the american people as a unit as one. stop finding shit to bitch about. besides he is HALF WHITE AND HALF BLACK so he has everyone interest put first okay. jesus. a black man wins and some white people scared for their rights

  • Michelle Obama College Thesis: :-(

'There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the BLACK community FIRST and FOREMOST.'

We do not need a RACIST First Lady or a President who does not love and respect our CONSTITUTION 100%!

How can Obama put his hand on a bible a swear to defend and protect what he doesn't believe in 100%?

  • OBAMA WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hers is a response borne out of the degradation and crime against humanity of slavery. white racism has dominated the USA for centuries and only in 1964 did this begin to be corrected. funny how you ignore that, but then that's no surprise given the record of the likes of you over the past 350 yrs. read some history and learn something ... perhaps then there can be a meaningful debate about this. you don't even know what racism is.

  • Give me a break. she isn't a victim of racism. 1964 was over 40 years ago and if no for the likes of Jackson, Wright, and Farakhan tenaciously grasping to the relic of black oppression, 90% of Blacks in this nation would be 100% better off, both socially and economically. LET GO already! With Obama now as President elect, can we finally set this issue aside because if he can't fix it, then I think Black America better do some soul searching for the real problem because it's no longer THE MAN.

  • if your parents were the children of slaves how does that NOT affect your economic power? your self esteem? think about it, not hard.

Obama was head and shoulders above the other candidates - as always, for a black person to come out on top they have to be leagues ahead of their white counterpart, not just a little better.

i suggest you read the history of your country. such a complacent attitude to the problem of racism can only come from one who has not suffered or been exposed to it.

  • Well I'd suggest that you consider that the oppression of the weak by the powerful is a broader plight and the blacks in America are not the only to suffer. My ancestors were serfs in the Caucasuses (hint - I'm a true "caucasian"). Had they stuck around after the Great War (WWI), they would have continued under Stalin's brutal regime (with only a brief break under Hitler). Stalin killed around 6M of my kin and if that's not racism, then your definition is selectively narrow. Am I a victim?

  • since your family came to the US, they entered in a place where the political, economic, social, and education systems were aligned in its favor. So are you personally a victim? no. Your "kin" were. On the other hand, this country was built on the backs of african americans, who faced institutionalized oppression till about the late 60s, and even today face discrimination and prejudice. I'd say the term victim is dependent on the context it is used in.

  • Your argument is baseless. At what point does someone, or rather a line of generations, cease to be a victim? If neither Michele's mother, grandmother, or great grandmother were slaves, do they inherit their "victimhood" in perpetuity? Now that we have a black president, are they still victims? If they are victims, who's the perpetrator of their victim hood? No, this all just hogwash. They (and I) ceased to be victims when the first generation was born in freedom.

  • seis, not quite, the the freedom you speak of was constricted by JIM CROW which ended in the 60s, that still did not erase the attitudes behind it. attitudes that still exist today.

  • While every last thing is not perfect in America, this is not a nation of victims. It's a nation of doers and success stories and for many, rising above "attitudes" of victimhood or bigotry. The 60's have long since passed and the only thing holding back minorities in this country now are the entrenched special interests that thrive on racial and ethnic division. When I saw Jesse Jackson cry on November 4th, I honestly think it's because of the vacuum it created for his Rainbow Coalition.

  • substitude the word attitude with the word belief. the believers of the supremecy of whites still exist and have influence. it is subtle yet powerful, and yes non whites (minorities)are still being victimized.

  • Just a refresh on this thread - the comment was made that Michelle Obama "hates America" because of the victimhood of her GRANDMOTHER. As for belief or attitude, there will always be those that disparage others. At some point, we all have to let go of the crutch called "victimhood" and make our beliefs and attitudes what we expect of others. To quote the Master, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." We are all victims, we all have our victims, let's stop the cycle.

  • thank you seis without knowing it you agreed with me, the white supremicists are a special intrest group.

  • It's certainly not unreasonable that we should agree on some points. I don't know if I'd call a racially motivated niche group a "special interest group". That's just a loaded PC term. But of course they exist and probably always will. They don't have much weight in today's political scene since Stetson Kennedy took down the KKK. Where we might not disagree or aren't seeing eye-to-eye is the issue of perpetual victimhood. I see "minority victimhood groups" as the special interests.

  • Its a damn shame that McCain Palin lost

  • They didn't stand a chance. Anyone who did was too busy watching Fox News instead of MSNBC. McCain is just as inept about the economy as Obama and would have run it into the ground. We didn't need a senator as GOP candidate, but a real leader who had some skills running something more than an "Elect Me" committee. Bloomberg, Romney, Forbes, come to mind. Palin, if she can prove herself in Alaska with falling Crude prices should be a good 2012 candidate.

  • Politics of Collective Redemption

"And in this seemingly redemptive offering, Obama may be promising what only God can actually deliver, in the form of yet another, more eloquent, version of the same old utopian dream that started with Rousseau and Marx. Substituting the state for God as provider has been the inherent common thread in all Marxist regimes."

  • So what? Obama is Jesus, our saviour.

  • thats what totalitarian governments do. if you are of no use to society they eliminate you. spoken like a true nazi/commie... Jesus says socialist stuff like sharing and helping each other. When Jesus returns he will no doubt bring communism. However, Barrack is not Jesus. Jesus ENCOURAGES you to be giving. Barrack wants to FORCE you to be giving. force results in taking. robin hood style. charity is good, but it loses it meaning if it comes from law and not the heart.

  • Under Palin, Alaska took more out of the federal budget than it paid in. My state (NY) had to pay more than it took out. Isn't that socialism? State level welfare?

I resent having my wealth redistributed to Alaskans. Palin doesn't seem to care though. It's not "socialism" when you take money from "fak" Americans and give it to "real" Americans.

  • If they don't like "socialiste" They don't need to go to church and to pray every week for Jesus ..a man who liked to share and who try to explain it to the citizen of the Earth...like MC Cain and his Pit-bull...and all the selfish poeple of the world...

  • i, too, have an extra 21st chromosome, so i hope they'll soon be a toddler in the oval office shitting himself just as i do. i'm proud to cast my substandard intelligence vote for palin. god bless you sarah!

  • OBAMA'S TROUBLING INTERNET FUND RAISING

Obama's internet campaign started out innocently enough with basic e-mail networking, campaigns and from supporters who visited any of the Obama campaign web sites..they were able to collate the number of contributions that were coming in seemingly from individuals the funds were from a few credit card accounts and bank electronic funds transfers. they were able to trace were from Saudi Arabia , Iran , and other Middle Eastern countries.

  • What do you think you will acheive with all thes lies ? You ought to be ashamed of yourself!

  • no .you wish. everything is on the up and up. just millions of people who gave small amounts. all completely legal. i gave in the same way. i realize that it is hard to accept when the candidate you vote for is loosing. i very much wanted bush to loose. imagine how people who voted against bush felt when the florida voting issue happened. but constantly accusing the democratic party of cheating and lying is starting to wear thin. should obama win, gracefully accept your defeat.

  • Its good that some one else understands this. If you do your research you can find that he got money from Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia along with other nations. He got a lot of money from the MIDDLE EAST not the MIDDLE CLASS.

    You dumbass

  • First, Glenn should be on the Christian Broadcast Network, No can't he's catholic?

Second, why did GOD do that to Trig?

Third, why is the Godly Sarah tied to unGodly Ted Stevens?

Forth, why is the Associated Press investigating Palins natural gas pipeline deal, and troopergate,(or tazergate and she called it)?

Fifth, why would you associate with a witch doctor in your godly church?

    Sixth, why doesn't she read?

i mean, or you can just get the hell out... lol.

  • this guy is soooo annoying. dude are you blind? can you not see that this woman is a complete and utter moron

  • You apparently... she's not running for President of the United States.. She's running for vice president. She has more experience than Obama who has been in the senate for only 3 years. Two of those three years he was campaining for presidency... I dont want a president who cant show up for Senate meetings because he has something better to do... GO McCain!!

  • Obamas close ties to ACORN leader Madeline Talbott, who personally led Chicago ACORNs campaign to intimidate banks into making high-risk loans to low-credit customers. Using provisions of a 1977 law called the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Chicago ACORN was able to delay and halt the efforts of banks to merge or expand until they had agreed to lower their credit standards — and to fill ACORNs coffers to finance counseling operations

  • more so than the community organizer.

correct me if im wrong, but she controlled more money, and oversaw more employees than Obama ever did.

  • Why? Because he reports on woman who has a good heart, loves her children and is successful?

I consider you are a complete moron.

  • Keep paying high prices as U let OPEC, etc. control YOU. Check the real stats, & see that our sea-levels have decreased, not increased, since 1998. How old are all of U? Two? Do U believe politicians like Gore who r only into writing a book to become a Gazillionaire as he flies in his gas guzzling jet & fuel guzzling house? Wake up & do your own research! I would hope our next generation are not all idiots like U. Has Obama sucked ur brain out 2 like the live births he wants to abort? Lookitup!

  • I have spent the last decade wondering why Al "Chicken Little" Gore was taken at his word about Global Warming. He's a clever one and has effectively disqualified dissenting views by pre-qualifying them as fringe views in spite the total absence of sure empirical data. Then Obama comes along. Man, the press love this guy. Wait till Obama and Pelosi strip the press of their freedoms, you'll hear them squack then! Oh, never mind, they'll be silent at that point:(

  • Wonder if he's regretting saying these things about Gov. Palin now.

Let's face it: Palin did more harm to McCain's campaign than she helped. The initial reaction was positive, but as people listened to those horrible, cringe-inducing interviews and learned more about her, more people began to turn against her. It's obvious that she's ill-prepared to be VP. And apparently it's about to get worse. According to some of Palin's Republican advisors, Palin's gone "rogue" and won't listen to anyone.

  • Why would GB regret what he said!? McCain stumbling on the campaign trail (can't find or stick to a message) has little or nothing to do with Palin's stellar record as a governor. GB recorded this show in April before she was VP pick. Just because the press flawlessly executes a massive impeccably organized character assassination on a decent person doesn't make it time to throw that person under the bus. I guess if you were a democrat that might make sense...

  • Thank you Glen....Sarah is so far ahead of any of these airheads that bad mouth her. They have no clue what this woman is all about. She would be the best thing that ever happened to our Nation. Afraid we are stuck with OB this go-round, but it won't be the last we see of Sarah Palin. She has too much going for her to even waste time thinking about these brain dead people.

He's having a hard time as it is staying on message and some wacked out supporter or surrogate comes along and tries to fill the media channels with Odinga, Michelle, and of course, such wouldn't be complete without an dose of America's favorite wedge issue, Abortion. C'mon folks, Obama's simply an unabashed Socialist (sorry, "wealth spreader"). That's enough to send chills down my spine!

  • A gift? To have a tard baby? That's an interesting way of looking at it.

  • All children are gifts. All children present challenges at one time or another. All children encourage us to grow and become holier. Perhaps, if you had an opportunity to spend time with children with special needs you could find a reason to have a more positive perspective on all life.

  • mffarla-

You are a sick useless pathetic excuse for a human being...

    pathetic

  • Obama is a Marxist who supports anti-U.S. Marxists like Odinga. There is PROOF that Obama used his elected office—and taxpayers dollars—to support Kenyas Raila Odinga, self touted as Your Agent for Change, a violent anti-American thug who made a pact with the Muslims to institute sharia (Islamic law). Odingas followers killed 750 people and burned a Christian church with 50 people, many of them children, inside.

  • 700 billion bailout I still concerned 100% democrats fault, specifically Janet Reno.

  • seismedia,

The Dems & Rep are both responsible for this mess as far as I'm concerned. I used to vote Rep, but I no longer prescribe to this gang-like mentality that takes place on both sides.

It's like watching a modern representation of "WESTSIDE STORY".

  • seismedia,

I now consider myself a free thinker and will vote for whoever is the lesser of two evils. Although, it matters not anyhow because the electoral college is going to do what they want anyway.

Thanks for the debate. I found some of your responses very informative.

  • Thanks for chiming in. I enjoyed some intelligent and thought provoking comments. It's never just plain black and white, is it. As for presidential politics, I'm withholding my vote - neither McCain nor Obama deserve my vote. Maybe I'll write in Ron Paul or Ralph Nader. They're a bit dull and monotonous, but I sense either one has more integrity. Actually at this point, I hope Obama wins so that when the socialism Bush brought us into bears fruit, we can blame the Dems:)

  • dammit you know that a vote for nader will only benefit mccain. if you are going to waste a vote on some liberal environmentalist who will never become president then you may as well not vote at all. why do some ppl vote for nader just because you dont like any of the primary candidates? its unfair to obama voters so just stay home plz. people like u are the reason bush has been president for 8 years because you foolishly voted for nader which siphoned off the votes from the dems.

  • Hmmm. Actually, given a choice between the enviro-nazi Al "Chicken Little" Gore, or John "Lurch" Kerry, I'd take Bush. McCain can't seem to hold any position too well for too long, and in spite of his service to his country, I don't know he could manage our current mess. I don't think Obama can either, but if the nation's going to go down the toilet, I'd rather it be on the Dems' watch. Ron Paul is probably the only one that really understands the Constitution that's got his name on the ballot.

  • Funny you call Big All "chicken little" -- Big Al once consumed three whole rotissere chickens at one meal. He later had to buy four hundred GREENHOUSE CREDITS because of all the moose-like farting he did afterwards. I think they called it Hurrican Ike...but I could be wrong....

  • Unless you are poor and homeless, Obama will give you nothing new. He is a bigger liar than Bush. He has wrecked our housing market, he Dodd, Frank and Pelosi. The only people really voting for Obama will be Mickey Mouse, his Disney pals and a few derelict DC Comic book super heros!

  • i dont recall obama being responcible for wrecking the housing market that was all dodd and frank. and also thanks to wall street and crooked real estate firms. i dont know whos feeding u this anti-obama propoganda but you need to cut the shit. btw i didnt understand ur stupid disney reference perhaps u could elaborate for me.

  • Obama was one of those community organizers, teaching and rallying ACORN to pressure Chicago banks to lend to anyone regardless of income and means under the pretense of racial inequality. Amazing how much of the current mess started in Chicago. Of course, there's lots of blame to pass around for Dodd and Frank, and a dozen other Democrats, but when the rubber hit the road, I think you have to bundle up all those in both Senate (inc. McCain) and the House who voted for the bailout bill.

  • Agreed, Obama has plenty of blame... rockloyalty552...I would say I dont know who is feeding you the pro-Obama, Obama is the chosen one propoganda but I already know the answer...Trust me if you dont think Obama has his issues and skeletons as does McCain and others you are naive and drinking the proverbial Obama flavored Kool-Aid...Democrats should wear just as much blame actually more than any republican for this housing crisis. The bailout is a whole different discussion.

  • lol and disney characters live in florida too..weird

  • Well, I don't care much for Bernstein, so some day you'll need to summarize the plot line for me, but suffice it to say I trust neither party, particularly after the watching them these last two weeks stuffing a bailout bill down the throat of Congress, first by the President and then by the Senate, and then only after stuffing the bill full of what can be only be called lobbyist bribes. So, my mind's a bit focused on the financial mess right now... as for the war, I blame Hussein.
