I wasn't ready for them to stop! my only wishes... that the show had been longer, my camera better, my seats closer! :-) (missed the 1st tier by "that much")
An even better show than the 1st 1 at the Greek here from a few years ago. The Airplane cover was a sincere and fitting homage to the Bay Area. Patty Griffin was more sidewoman than Allison Krauss' almost-equal partner status, but who's counting?!
And yes nice camera -- no zoom? -- I suspect a high megapixel phone. My low 3 mp LG certainly was no match even from sec F lower left side close in. Thx for posting this.
Great videos. Thanks. We were there last night. Blown away at how much fun it was. This band is awesome. The swamp boogie/ psychedelic folk style a perfect fit for re-imagining some old Zep favorites. But when I heard the opening bass line to Funny Cars that made me want to fire up the vid. But your quality is really impressive. That can't be a phone. Can I ask what it is?
I saw them in January 2011 and they were great. But big props to them for covering a favorite Jefferson Airplane song. (Actually the entire Surrealistic Pillow album.) Patty Griffin has a lovely voice too. Thanks for uploading this.
Wow -- "She Has Funny Cars" is like time travel back to '67-'68, the most productive and innovative period in the history of rock! This great song comes from back when the Airplane, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and Moby Grape (not to mention The Beatles, Stones, and of course Bob Dylan) were achieving a skyrocketing creative peak that changed music forever.
Thanks to Robert Plant for knowing where it's at and for putting together a truly superb band that can do it all and do it justice!
