It's amazing how out dated this is from only two years ago. I can get well over 3 GHz with some fans on a non over clocked cpu. This is still cool though.
Pretty sad, I have a 800Mhz overclock on air. I'm using the same board, with a 3.2 SL7PN EO stepping Prescott @ 4.0Ghz. If you don't belive I have a 100% dual prime stable 4.0Ghz P4 on air check my video.
Yeah? USA dude. Where I live they're REEEEAAALLLY hard to find. And 350 euros you know here is about $500. And we don't exactly have that kinda cash right now so.... half expensive and hard to find.
first of all its a pentium 4 second of all its a very slow cpu at stock of 1.53 ghz thrid of allatleast oc it higher.Waste of liquid nitrogen I have my Q6700 Oced to 4.2 fwith air cooling thermaltake v1 at 27-28 c at idle and while running max 32 C
yes you can i have an intel pentuim quad core and i have a liquid cooling system with liquid cooling(WARNING THIS MIGHT FREEZE THE PUMP AND BREAK IT!!!!)
nice. try something modern like a Pentium D or a quad core. .7 ghz really doesn't matter that much with liquid nitrogen u should be able to at least up it 1ghz or more
lol, you guys think its a new processor lol. First of all, its a first generation pentium 4 proc with a 180nm architecture. This means that the TDP would be so high, even to do a bus OC of 10 would have been too hot to handle. The Pentium 4's u have now are either of 90nm(prescotts) or 65nm(cedar mill) and even this procs cant be OC-ed that high without Extreme cooling.. gosh.. before u shoot down an OC, watch the cpu-z carefully!
i'm not sure they're done with the processor's overclocking yet, i mean, .8 ghz is a good amount but not great, and with what they rigged up, i'm sure they can get 4.75-5 ghz without much in the problem area (in comparison to some other stuff i've seen)
also I can Overclock MY 478 CPU with Asrock p4V890 mother to the highest is 2.8GHZ with out usin those Nitrogen juat a Gigabyte ROcket2 Rocket 3 cooler. Mine are better than his I think
why don't they use the air con gases to cool it? rather than to go with this money costing thin? I have an Air cond base copper and it is fit for all CPU intel platfomr only
i can over clock it until 7.0GHZ the origin al speed was 2.4GHZ
to keep nitrogen even in liquid form, it is -196 degrees Celsius, or -320 degrees Fahrenheit. That is MUCH MORE cooler than an air conditioning system, and costs less as well.
Also, I doubt that you overclocked your P4 to "7 GHz." The chip would basically heat up so quickly that the Auto Shut-Off function on the chip would activate.
Then again, I wouldn't know. It's just a guess on my part.
By the way, air conditioner gases aren't cool at all. Most of them are at room temperature or higher. However, what it does is taking in Hydrogen ions to take out heat energy. This is actually very inefficient and harmful to the atmosphere, as some deplete the ozone layer while others makes greenhouse gases. The gases are VERY expensive, and requires a license to handle them.
well in my place they are NON CFC gases (I also have dout on that) it accualy didn't have CFC I also checke the official; web page of it and it also said NON CFC for me, as long as the CPU didn't fried is OK for me the MAx Coolin was -34 C
and one more thing the CPU cooling place ot Water block are accually a Costomized CPU pad that fits all CPU including775. By the way what is the different between prescott Mpgs 478 and northwood or something in LGA 775?
BIOS will only get you so far, once you get a max clock in BIOS it usually will not survive the windows boot load. thats why we use SETFSB so we can get the max stable clock for windows boot load and than push it farther in the OS through a PLL clock gen.
My new i5-2500 (no k) does not give any problem.

?? My PC have Intel core 2 Duo @ 3.0 Ghz and 4gig Ram and a good graphic card for 350 Euros and its not expensive...its now a half year old :S

@killerhansi93 if it's an e8400 you could get it to 4ghz and still have it under 1.3volts.

to keep the processor really really really really cool. this is used very commonly for benchmarkers and overclockers.
