Finally when the tourist and visitors complain we actually enforce the laws on your books Haitian sloops with no radios running lights or visible identification eg: name and or number
are not to be allowed beyond Gt. Inagua now we do it
"Human feces have washed ashore where children and tourist play on the beaches nearby." (your video description).
Oh, what an impertinence, to bother people´s carribean paradise with reality.... Really I find no words for so much disdain. these people are as human as you, do you think they came to drown in the sea for fun or what???
Stop instigating fear and animosity towards Haitians. Migration is not a Bahamian but a worldwide problem, it´s a consequence of unrest and poverty, and blaming immigrants has never solved any country´s problems. What about solidarity instead of negativity?
Solidarity and reform. Yes what you say is true however just because most are looking for work doesn't mean that there are no criminals in this same community. It is true of all nationalities. Criminals are exploiting your weaknesses that is what the message is proving.
what's the threat here? Haitian vessels anchored in Nassau Harbour, with people trying to make better lives for themselves doesn't seem threatening to me.
You see only one side of the issue. True enough most Hatians just want a better chance at life. The truth is there are a few who have sinister businesses going on. They are human smuggling, drug trafficking, weapon smuggling and escaping from prosecution. Sometimes they transport women to be prostitutes. Some of their human cargo is discarded into the sea when Defense for and US Coast Guard officials approach. They are weighed down to disappear without a trace.

What needs to happen is formation of a effective port police. I was there as a medic coordinator during your disaster.
