Everyone talks about grappling and how great it is but, they don't consider how vulnerable you are if the guy's friends show up. BJJ is a product of Japanese Jujutsu which coincidently has stand up fighting elements. The art of Taekwondo is also a complete system when all aspects of it are taught.
there's another korean martial art that's kind of a mix of grappling and tkd. it's called hapkido and it's starting to get really popular these days. tkd is taught to soldiers in korea but hapkido is taught to special forces. it's really interesting. it has joint locks, kicks, grappling, all that stuff you see in mma. it's really cool.
Yeah it's new times.i train taekwondo but i still that bjj is superior.but if you give taekwondo fighters a lesson in bjj i think taekwondo fighters would be good grapplers because they got the advantage with using ther flexible legs.so ther is still hope for taekwondo and remember thers good and bad fighters
You are right.BUT,bjj is not better then judo.So judo would be better because judo is a new sport and an olympic one.Not to mention that judokas allways win at MMA and other.

I think BJJ is awesome and got my respect. But in what way are we trying to judge which one is better?
TKD and BJJ
I prefer TKD when I have to fight 3~4 guys.
and BJJ when I need to fight onny one.
It is dumb to say which one is better.
Although BJJ is my favorite.

Aren't there ground sweeps in TKD? because I didn't see any.
BloodFireRain 3 years ago
no ground sweeps not allowed, nothing below the belt.

There are plenty of throws, sweeps and locks; but you just don't use them in sparring :)
Though my experience of TKD only sticks to the TAGB ITF training that im taught.
