me now im 26 years old ,and me too was born with cleft palate.i have no problems with speech,although some timei speak too much quickly ,they didnt understand.i try to avoid very hot food,cos mum tell me when i was young dont eat hot food.but over all it doesnt bothered me much.

This makes me cry my little girl was born was cleft on her 1st surgery she screamed after surgery for a while. I felt like a horrible person because I couldnt take away the pain
