Actually, for an acoustic guitar, I would suggest an AKG C1000S condenser, place mic pointing between the bridge and soundhole, about a foot away. $200.
Very helpful video! thanks a lot! I'm also new to recording and i'm planning to buy a studio grade condenser microphone to record an acoustic guitar, but can't decide which brand and type. i'll be using my on board pick-up also, can u suggest wot particular brand and type of condenser mic? i want a true clear natural sound. thank again! great video.
great video! (: I'm new to recording and this video helps a lot. Say I was wondering, what's best to use to record an acoustic guitar? A small diaphragm or a large diaphragm? your reply would be deeply appreciated =)

If budget is of importance, MXL , Rode, Shure. $200-$400.
If budget is really good, Senheiser, Neuman, Royer $1800-$4000. Have a nice day.
