It's nice to see so many Prelude records on You Tube & it's obvious that this label still has got it. So many comments show the love for N.Y. Prelude's style but there's nobody who takes the chance to release the all the 12" in one cd-box (like it had been done with Stax or Motown. Prelude got a lot of different Disco styles and stands for the 80's disco history!
Patrick Hernandez handed me the white label of the record and I assure you I was playing it for a room full of gay men. It was just another butch record from the style we were calling technodisco and it was a Paradise 'Garage Club classic. which was black and gay but all devoted dancers were welcome no matter what your persuasion as long as you left your homophobia at the door. I debuted it at the Underground in NYC. cool down but we never called this an exercise record.
Also, it was not an original commission by Prelude; they bought it from a Great Britain label. Note the bass-baritone of the lede singer; very, very "butch."
patmix, respect, but I assure you that this was a big, gay record for a short while in1982. So that you understand where I'm coming from, the flipside was a bizarre countdown where a woman chanted "1-2, 1-2-3-4" over the track. Straight, gay, whatever, this record was an attempt to cash in on the aerobics craze by Prelude Records, a New York disco label that was beginning to falter in '81/'82.
But I never knew this came out on Prélude Records, NY, NY.

I found this in a 2nd hand dtore for vinyl 12" & LPs. There was this 3 disc Import from, if U can believe it called ©1982 Underground Disco Records, Turkey
A Side: Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Boys Town Gang (9:00 Mix)
B Side 1) If You Can Dance, You Can Do It - Slimline & Track 3 Side B is:
Hit 'N Run Lover - Carol Jiani
It was the only 1 I found, so I got it for 25 cents & it is in Mint Condition! Even the quality isn't bad :-) I found another 12" on PRT, U.K.

I love this song & it was a big hit everywhere I D.Jed, but they were a bit ahead of their time like a lot of groups back then :-(
It's too bad these people become very popular :-)

Probably Prelude's last eurodisco release (1982).
It would be fun to call this the best aerobics record of all time, but maybe that's just me!
