I love Diana Krall! But I have to say there is something strange about her version of this song. Her voice sounds very strained, and her portuguese is awkward. I still love her though.

Hm, I don't think it's her Portuguese that's the problem here. It's the way she dilivers the song in a whispering manner that is a bit too much of a caricature of the bossa nova style. Don't get me wrong, she's definitely one of the greatest jazz singers in the world, but I think she kinda missed this one. It is not wrong to sing bossa nova in a straightforward jazz manner. It works fine for Leny Andrade (a native Brazilian) so why shouldn't it work for Diana? Just a thought. :)

I adore Diana's accent. She with an English mother tongue, will never speak so, than a real Brazilian one. But she gives her heart for her every song, it is necessary to value this. And she is wonderful, everything suits this girl well.

First of all I would like to say that I appreciate Diana Krall very much both as a jazz singer and pianist, and have few of her records. However, in this specific song, her singing in Portuguese simply does not fit well and sounds quiet weird.
