I downloaded the beta.. it took a while, there were two massive patches-- and then like.. 30 smaller patches.. it took almost 12 hours to download in total. Doing it in the background..
I installed in-- made my character.. it didn't run very well on my computer.. which is brandnew--- the graphics wern't very good-- and the gameplay was terrible.

Dieing left and right to some ass using a stick and wearing no armor does not really help you feel like part of the world. The fact of the matter is both games need polish, as of right now there just large PVP sand box's that reward people with the best rigs and internet. I won't comment and skill =P.

The Thig with MMOS is that you need a known story to back it up. fan base games do better than newly created although newly created games have better features to make up for the missing His'Story (history for all you noobs out there)
And no mmo has a first person only view, that I know. The reason this fails because its not a true first person view as in real life. Its tunnel vision and in an mmo that is obviously going to have pvp you need to be able to have a 360 view or you will get roflstomped and that person who just killed you will get blind sided etc etc.
the game was built to be different from any mmo out there today, if there ws thirdperson the basic idea of the game would be ruined. Yes that is true if you cant see every where then you will get killed. But tht also goes for real life. This is going to be a very realistic mmo and if you dont like it dont play it that simple

No npcs going about doing daily business, no birds flying through the air, hell not even one running squrriel or chirping bird. Boats don't rock in the water etc. I hate, huge seamless worlds because they are so lifeless and boring because the devs can't monitor a world like that that is full of life.

I really, really like the look of this game, it looks very fun, but the devs have decided to exclude me by only allowing a certain type of view point, so the only way I can hope to play a game like this is if this one fails (as it likely will) and another, similar one comes out with a viable third person view.
Because this was the only version we could get at that moment, the server was under high pressure and I was lucky enough to get it down to my HD. Don't remember if the HD quality version was up at that point.
From my experience, giving players the ability to hack and slash at will with melee weapons makes everyone look retarded. I played DDO and everyone looks retarded running around trying to hit the enemy and spamming there melee button. At least in more controlled combat systems people don't look like rampaging lunatics.
The combat style looks REALLY similar to Oblivion, but with "death strikes" like AoC. That's a GOOD thing, I hate fucking pre-scripted attacks, with "auto attack" like WoW. This looks like its going to be incredible

the developers said there would be very little magic in the game. They want to keep it more like in Lord of the Rings where you dont really see Magic fireballs or pretty coloured lights coming through the place.
So mages are a rare thing in Mortal Online if there at all. They wanted them to have the same sort of feel as Gandalf or something.. you know like there. but there isnt like 200 of them.

wow only did good because NOTHING else out at the time was even decent, wow is more of a grind tastic experience than most mmo's I've come across, second only to the original everquest.
blizzard is a monkey passed it's prime..a good chunk of wow players stay with wow because they've invested far too much of their worthless lives in it to ever stop, it's the only thing making them feel adequet.
It's developed by an indie studio so they can't spent the same amount on hype as EA or Blizzard. And there clever enough to avoid promising things that isn't tested.
I cant believe this game is going to be an mmorpg. This game looks on par with, if not BETTER, then the elder scrolls: Oblivion. And Oblivion is better then 99% of the games ever released.

awfully defensive over a video game, arent we? Or are you leaping to the defense of the guy who thinks that 25 is old? Either way it's a losing battle. I really, really like the look of this game, it looks very fun, but the devs have decided to exclude me by only allowing a certain type of view point, so the only way I can hope to play a game like this is if this one fails (as it likely will) and another, similar one comes out with a viable third person view.

Because this was the only version we could get at that moment, the server was under high pressure and I was lucky enough to get it down to my HD. Don't remember if the HD quality version was up at that point.

From my experience, giving players the ability to hack and slash at will with melee weapons makes everyone look retarded. I played DDO and everyone looks retarded running around trying to hit the enemy and spamming there melee button. At least in more controlled combat systems people don't look like rampaging lunatics.

The combat style looks REALLY similar to Oblivion, but with "death strikes" like AoC. That's a GOOD thing, I hate fucking pre-scripted attacks, with "auto attack" like WoW. This looks like its going to be incredible

the developers said there would be very little magic in the game. They want to keep it more like in Lord of the Rings where you dont really see Magic fireballs or pretty coloured lights coming through the place.
So mages are a rare thing in Mortal Online if there at all. They wanted them to have the same sort of feel as Gandalf or something.. you know like there. but there isnt like 200 of them.

It's developed by an indie studio so they can't spent the same amount on hype as EA or Blizzard. And there clever enough to avoid promising things that isn't tested.
