i got 120 in the works for seahorses and psychedelic mandarins and other compatible fish and you have to make sure you have a stable food supply of copepods.
Can you put a Seahorse in a 10 gallon fish tank and where can you buy them from. I've never seen them in fish stores before. They have got to be very expensive right?
ok, im young and wanting to be a marine biologest but im not sure we are allowed to keep sea horse in my area what should i do to study and keep an eye on their way of life?
@JuicyMedia how much do seahorses cost and where can i get them pet store doesnt have them can i order online? would it be ok to keep 2 in a 24 gallon with liverock
it looks like theres quite a lot of hard coral in there, if your not experienced with marine tanks stick with just soft coral. hard coral needs more magneseum, boron, strontium and iodine than soft coral. good luck :)
you have to keep the flow down for sea horse but with the ex turnal filter and sump i was planning to use would that be to much ofc ill yous slow flow return pump and restrict water flow to sump do you think that would be ok?
I change a smaller return pump to slow the flow, but you may need a strong cleaning snails or unplug the flow for around an hour and not over fee them to keep up the water quality
Nice! That's an awesome tank for your first saltwater!!! How much time and research did this take? I'm in the process of setting up my first saltwater. :) I bought a Biocube 29 and I'm trying to figure out what types of soft corals and other invertebrates to add in there. Fun stuff! Looks good!!
i get them at my petstore called all pets club they have them they are striped seahorses that mine sells 80 dollars a pop. They arent hard it is just make ure the water is PERFECT before you put one in and make sure you ahve nothing that will it them
hi!! amazing tank!! i have 2 questions: 1. Is that really your first tank (because aren't seahorses really hard to look after)? 2. How hard are the gorgonians to look after, especially in such as small tank?
It usually isn't hard. If you have had freshwater experience and you read up on them, it really isn't that bad. You just have to meet their requirements. :) It is an amazing tank isn't it? lol Hard to believe it's the first! I hope people say that about mine when I set it up. :)
Are you kidding>>> sounds are not required for there to be a successful seahorse tank, in fact I imagine that many of these are not alive any longer...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
What's up with the sound of an ocena with waves crashing down? Do seahorses need that sound to be healthy, or is that from the filter? Another seahorse tank had the same noise...
Yes the waves sounds are required and they must be loud enough so that the Seahorses believe they are still in the Ocean. If that sound is not manipulated they often stress out very bad, and could die. It happened to one of mine during a power outage.
