  • Learn how to sing! I want it so bad

  • Very cool!!!

  • love love love

  • I think this should be our national anthem... What do you guys think?

  • LOL For the people in france

  • Yay John!

  • i have a problem my fingers and it makes it hard for me to play, do you have any advice on how to improve your finger "ability"

  • @hectorriosjaime Usually just playing the chords and notes over time makes it easier. Like anything else, if you do it enough times, you'll develop the dexterity and muscle memory fairly quickly.

  • @pianojohn113 thanks alot you're the best :)

  • CAN U SEND ME THE NOTES PLZZZ!!!

  • wich is the brand of your piano??

  • @martindelpumas It's a Boston GP-163.

  • Just a perfect tutorial... Helped me a lot. Congratulations! :))

  • Very nice !!! U should check my ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE cover :)

  • Hey John is it possible that you can make a video response showing us how to do the "solo" and the awesome ending thing you did?

  • @usarules10 Yes, I was going to show that ending part on this video but ran out of time. I'll try to include it on a future vid. Glad you liked it. :-)

  • @pianojohn113 Wow that would be great :-)

  • @pianojohn113 please include the ending solo! It make the ending sound great.

  • John I usually love your videos because they are easy to follow, but I had a hard time with this one because you went a little fast. Also you didn't have the notes you were playing like in some of your other videos. But other wise its a great song and very impressive piano playing

  • I love your tutorials piano John!! Any chance we could get an American Pie tutorial?

The piano part from the song please, not the piano adaptation

  • @alohava Yes, I've got a tutorial on that one mapped out, but it's a long one, simply because of the many piano fills that are all throughout the song.

  • @pianojohn113 okay, I imagine it would be a long one. But I managed to learn Piano Man. So I would appreciate very much to get the American Pie tutorial out.

  • @pianojohn113 i'm putting in my vote for that one, those fills are awesome and i've been looking to learn how to play them! thanks a lot for the ones online already.

  • Do anyone have notes for this tutorial?

  • thanks so much john, you haver the best piano tutorials please please oh please make some Queen's tutorials!! I'd really love to play we are the champions!

  • wow thats really good!!! i hope i can play it!!

  • Amazing!

  • wonderful! :)

  • Sir I must say you have an amazing taste in music and I thank you for sharing your knowledge of piano.

  • @ABomb47 Glad you like them, thanks. :-)

  • Holy hell!!! I never realized, the intro is from the French National anthem!!

  • THANK YOU!!!! your so awesome! thank you for teaching me this song it really helped a lot!!!

  • I love you.

  • Great!!!! (again...)

but can you please tell me what you do in the end, I mean in the very end, when you do that thing in the octave higher and then in the octave lower, it's like a G scale, I don´t know

Thank you from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

  • @vhvasco Ah, yes, that is the little riff that is played on the original recording by a big band in the background.. it is a little piece of "In The Mood" by Glenn Miller. I only threw that in because it was included in the original song.. not necessary to play at all!

  • i always follow tour Beatles' tutorials! I leanrt All you need is love and uploaded a cover on my channel! Hope you'll leave a comment, thank you for everything!

  • @andrixbest I just saw it, really well done!

  • I love your great piano work it has taught me much! Thank you very much for these videos help me a lot. May I request doing schism by tool, i would love to learn how to play that.

  • during the fill, wat is the key on the left hand?

  • @theahah88 Which fill part?

  • I realized today that you have taught me over 21 Beatles songs on the Piano. Something Martha My Dear Hey Jude Across the Universe All You Need is Love Oh Darling Norwegian Wood In My Life Real Love Imagine Maybe I'm Amazed Strawberry Fields Do You Want to Know A Secret Golden Slumbers A Day in the Life Let if Be I owe you a lot! Thanks : )
  • @electrocuteanna Very glad the vids have been helpful.. Kudos to you for learning all those songs, nice! :-)

  • nice video!

  • Hey John, I just want to give you my deepest thanks for all your awesom video tutorials on The Beatles's songs. With your help I have learned All You Need is Love and Across the Universe. Next I will learn Martha My Dear.

Thanks John for your post I really appreciate!! And I am sure a lot more users do ;)

  • AWESOME John , absolutely awesome man ;) ive been listening to the beatles version all day today with harpsicord isolated and as usual your right on the money!!! superb

  • Thanks for teaching me this. Its given me great pleasure, even though I play it with headphones on - don't like to show off!

A bit left-field, but I'd love to hear your interpretation of creep by Radiohead. I know its only 4 chords. G,B,C,Cb.

  • @sidb37 Go ahead on show off, that's part of the fun of playing! :-) I hadn't thought about doing Creep before.. I may have to at least try that one. I think there's a Cm chord in there too.

  • @pianojohn113 Sorry I meant Cm not Cb!!

  • All you need is jhon

  • great tutorial, but i think it would be a lot less confusing, if you taught one hand at a time, but other then that, it was great

  • @City0fZion Well, I don't really have time to do them separately, otherwise I might.

  • Thanks. The other important reason for not learning rote from start to finish is that the 'procedural memory' will not hold up well under pressure and if you forget one note the whole thing will fall apart.

I would like to stress that I did not learn piano for the purpose of picking up women but i must say it does help. With this piece in the arsenal it will not even be fair because the track is so closely anchored to the emotions of the movie Love Actually. Street Piano starts next week.. :)

  • @sparkey196 Exactly. Again, it's like painting by numbers vs. painting what you see (or hear in this case). That's why classical pieces are so much more difficult to learn and play, because they must be learned not for note.

  • The fill in this is rock hard (and I've learnt your Piano Man and NY state of mind). I tried simplifying the right hand but then the magic is gone.

After learning nearly all Pianojohn's songs, here is how I now learn them in 10% of the time.

    1) watch the whole video through

    2) Start with the fills and learn them perfectly, slowly building up speed.

    3) Practice all the chord changes. You can do hundreds per minute.

    4) Learn the ending (normally the hardest part).

    5) Practice the whole piece.

  • @sparkey196 Great method, sparkey, I like that!

  • Your tutorials are stillgetting better, quite progressively so. Honestly, They were excellent to start with, needed no improving, I've learned a lot from them, thanks.! I love the way this one sounds on piano. It's definitely next on my list. Cheers

  • @Sodahpop96 Thanks, Soda.. I remember I was surprised at how good this one sounds on the piano when I first learned it many years ago.. Same thing with "Hello, Goodbye." Have fun with it!

  • john...you are my hero!! xD

  • great song+ great lesson, but i was wondering,do you know why the french anthem intros this song ,considering they were british ,and i presume were representing the uk on the 'one world 'sattelite thing ? love your lessons...where's watching the wheels?!

  • @tailendcharlie George Martin put that in the song to point out the international flavor of the broadcast. They had signs in different languages ther as well, and he threw in some American music at the end, and Englilsh, etc.

  • In french:

Tu es le meilleur. Point barre.

  • You are the best at what you do. Period.

  • @Mdaniels909 Thank you. :-)

  • Theres brilliant; where something is clever and enjoyable,

And theres BRILLIANT; where something is probably the best thing a person can possibly imagine playing on the piano.

    This was the latter BRILLIANT.

    *Learning immediately.

    Thank you!!!!!

  • this is great John :) thanks man :))

  • Thanks john awesome

  • Thank you!!!

  • The intro comes from the French Anthem "La Marseillaise." I don't know why they copied it.

  • Comment removed

  • @pianoomar100 they wanted to give the song an international feel and so included many parts of different songs into the song, including the french anthem.

  • The song I have always wanted to learn.

  • thank you!!! finally a good tutorial of this song
