I don't know why, but for some reason in the U.K version, there was nearly always a Data Systems Anaylst, a Computer Programmer, or someone who worked with computers in general!
What I loved about this show, is that even the intellegent contestants had to be also physically fit to compete in the obstacle course. Brains AND Brawn.
Mondays 7pm, produced by Granada for the channel back then simply known as ITV. Essential viewing for the time. Something to look forward to after feeling miserable about being back at school :-)
I seem to remember that they had a lot of civil servants on the programme...
Every Winter, this was my favourite gameshow. It was just unlike anything else on British TV for so many years. Then, they (ITV) ruined it in 1995. Never realised how abysmal it was until I saw it on Youtube.
Anyway, a question for you: what is your favourite discipline?
Mine was always the assault course! Although the puzzle and flight simulations were always interesting to me as well.
@AntoG1986 I liked the whole thing, but I want to highlight the Observation round, because as a kid back then, it was one of the few rounds that I could play along with a have a decent amount of success. And then there was the Intelligence round...what was basically a jigsaw puzzle became something that was very complex.
@RoganStuart haha, Roger De Courcey is a ventriloquist and had a stuffed bear called "nookie" first thing that came into my head... i must see a doctor :)
its the 1988 version. great to hear it without voiceovers :) I would have thought the actual 1986/1987 theme would have gone on the album (the one with the bongo drums). this was the 2nd art of noise theme for the show (first remix of it)
years ago i heard several uncut versions of these about 4 of them i think similar of course but different as in added drums/bongos more bass etc but had it on cassette tape which i no longer have this as far as it goes 53secs on the art of noise album i have is the only one that's recently released wish i still had them it also included the end credits variations aswell on tape if memory serves iv not been able to get hold of them since.
For ages I've been looking for a version of this theme thats just the music / instrumental and not the bloody "I'm Ken Smith, I'm 28 & I'm a milk man from Derbyshire." etc etc halfway through.
@alphaecho100 yeah lol available on the art of noise influence album 2 disk set -disk 1 track 14 sadly its the only variation though would like the "end credits theme without the channel voice over and audience clapping and also to hear uncut uninterrupted versions aswell theres another version if you haven't heard it not my upload i think its called krypton factor slideshow its here on YT look it up
