They're implying that it is actually easier to win the powerball than Spike surviving the operation, and actually go through with it! What doctor banks on THOSE odds?
I had to condense 22 minutes to about 4, so yeah... sometimes details like that get lost. Anyway, nobody was putting Bumblebee's mind into a ridiculous body, so he was obviously fine.
You forgot to mention that oddly enough this wouldn't be the last time Spike's brain was put in an Autobot.

you did'nt even touch on the fact. That megatron wrecks bumblebee and puts spike in a near fatal state.
