@hushadahush13 she doesnt kill him. As you play through the last level you get some sort of fit, hinting that you will die soon (at least thats how I interpreted it). She takes your ADAM and uses it for herself, and since its like taking your conscience your ideals etc live on in her. But i'm not sure if Big Daddy actually remains "awake" inside her of if he just merges with her and becomes a part of her, so to speak.
When Sofia choked Eleanor, she severed the bond between big daddy and little sister. Basically, Eleanor is considered dead to delta and thus he is dying.

@CMNeirfan147 But his body was designed to lapse into a coma, not die. One would assume that means his actual death was caused by the explosion, when he dies in the neutral ending.
But the coma had lasting effects on him. it was a miracle he was able to survive in the first place, let alone travel across rapture in a bold attempt to save a teenage eleanor. he dies at the end of the game because his weaknesses have overcomed him.
But the explosion may have contributed a bit... :D
This is the ending I got when I beat the game. The others... one is sad and one is just plain EVIL! Honestly, these endings... they get me thinking about Eleanor sometimes... .-.
To get the good ending all you have to do save all the little sisters. If you do that, sparing or killing the three people (Grace, Stanley, Alex) only influences whether Sofia Lamb lives or dies at the end.
you can only kill Gil. (my guess is because he asks you too in his recordings, so even a sympathetic moral person may find it acceptable to kill him.) but if you kill Stanley or grace, you get the good/bad ending (where you get to choose)
I actually killed the first 2 and only spared the last and still got the best ending, and that ending was really what made the game for me. It was like watching the conclusion to an amazing movie.
It is the best ending, it was well done and made me feel good about finishing the game, made it seem like all the work to get to the end was worth something.
I lilled the train guy and still got this ending but it seemed right I mean he was the reason for hundreds of murders and turned your little sister into a little sister after all.
Just so everyone knows; if you save ALL Little Sister, save both the woman and the train station guy, but electrocute the mutated guy, you still get this ending. I just finished it this past weekend, and this is exactly what I did.
Hope this helps any of you guys who are trying to get an ending. Still not sure if electrocuting the mutant was a good or bad thing, but I got this ending, so...
If you save all the little sisters, one death doesn't change the good ending. You have to kill 2 or all 3 to change the good ending, where Sofia Lamb dies.

In my prediction that Bioshock 3 is going to been take place on land and the protagonist could be the son of Eleanor because guess what after she escape with Delta she can start her on normal life and having a family. But, I can guess that Enemies were be much worse than first and second one to create also the most annoying enemy also know as the Big Brother.

The Little Sisters are the great victims of the game. Everyone treats them as tools. Rapture needs ADAM and enslaving little girls is the only way to get it.
i liked everything about this ending except that sofia lamb didnt die. i know she dies in the evil ones, but after all the shit she puts you through, even when your doing good moral things in the game. it would of felt at least a little satisfying if she could of got what was coming to her.

@fandanstan I disagree. I think this game has the best connection between story and gameplay. It would be hard to deeply enjoy the ending if you haven't made it by playing. I could be wrong, though :)
Huh.... Damn! Shouldn't have harvested that one little sister. If you don't harvest any little sister's, Eleanor won't harvest any of them either right? (when she needed adam on my file she just harvested every single girl) whoops...
Same, i was aiming for good guy and i didn't kill grace but killed evryone else. Also i saved every single lil sister expect one, i harvested her cuz i rlly needed the ADAM. I still wanted to be good so when Elonore was harvesting the rest of the sisters im like "No! Fuck you Elenor! Stop!!!1!1" So yea... woops
The shutdown process was ended. There are 3 other endings. In one ending you don't die at the end. She says she doesn't know where you are but she misses you. But that also could suggest you die anyway from being away from her. It seems as though you don't want to live because of what you are. So in the good+ ending you are absorbed into her through Adam. In the good ending you just disappear. So you die no matter what the ending. It just depends if she gathers you or not.
In the one ending where you sacrifice yourself ur not alive, she means like wherever you are (Heaven or Hell or maybe somewhere else) she misses you. Not like hey you are in alabama i miss you.
It's not so much a "sacrifice" ending as a "redemption" ending. You do not want Eleanor to permanently absorb your cruel tendencies. In doing so, you allow her the possibility of growing up a good person.
I got the same one and what i think happens is that you finally die coz at the beggining u shoot yourself in the head but u survive to save eleanor and now that you saved her your body falls into achomar (however u spell it) and then she takes your mind or something so your always in her head and you can talk to her inside her head and see through her
@crazydriverboy when delta shoots himself in the head, he dies and comes back in a vita chamber. it was being apart from his little sister for 10 years that slowly kills him, and at the end the explosion severely hurts him. also he cannot live in that suit outside of rapture/away from elenor. so elenor decides to bring him with her by extracting his adam and injecting herself with it. deltas adam is like his conscious so he lives in her and shares her senses.
also the last scene when elenor looks at her hand and takes off the arm needle, its being scene from deltas point of view. so now that they share the same senses and conscious they can be together forever ^^ such a happy ending.
yeah i dont really get why he died. i mean, he was near eleanor the whole last bit of the game, and he was further away from the bombs than her when they went off and she seemed fine.
they did mention that lamb stopped eleanors heart long enough to severe the bond. i guess they never really got around to properly reconnecting the bond to stop him from dying? i dont get it. lol
@xQueenKristinx either way she could have just teleported into the boat where u see her rescue sophia lamb and you get a mortally wound and only just managed to get on the boats port
for the good ending you dont die... the big daddy does but big daddies are made to protect little sisters so the human that was in the big daddie suit survives
but that little sister got harvested by elanor lamb the good big sister and also little sisters see rapture before the war started so that is why they always get in trouble because they trust everyone
@XQueenKristinx: its the power of ADAM, the whole fact about all that storage of people's thoughts, memories etc being held in ADAM was a key part to the plot in this game alone...Did you even pay attention to what was being said while you played or did you play at all? I'm only asking cause your lack of understanding makes me skeptical, I'm not saying my doubts are right but for a person who has played through the game you seem not to get some pretty key parts of the plot.
I UNDERSTAND that his memories and whatnot survive through the adam and are passed on to Eleanor in the end. As I was saying, the part I DIDN'T understand was why his BODY died, because I figured that being reunited with Eleanor at the end would have stopped the shut-down process.
So one more time - why did being reunited with Eleanor at the end not reconnected the bond? Was it just severed for good? And remember you don't have to be an asshole when you answer me
The bond was already severed when Lamb suffocated Eleanor until her heart stopped. So after that, they didn't have to be with each other to survive anyway. The reason Delta dies at the end is because the explosion mortally wounds him. So it's not like Eleanor is killing him or anything. She's doing it so he can live on through her. Hope that helps.
He was dying from the beginning dude the gunshot to the head, vita chambers don't bring you back to life they keep you alive. And the bomb blast just devastated him he was ganna die soon anyhow so she saved him

He can't get ADAM with her anymore *snip*" So she was still alive but the bond was severed and they didn't need to be with each other to survive anymore. He dies because of that bid explosion. Eleanor was fine because she teleported out at the last second but you still took the blast. There was your answer. Hope i wasn't and asshole!
No, it's pretty clear when you're strapped to that bed (before the Little Sister sequence) that it was the bond breaking that killed you. The Alpha Series are designed go into coma/death/insanity when their Little Sister dies. Although Sofia didn't kill Eleanor, stopping her heart briefly was enough to trigger your killswitch, which is irreversible once engaged.
Eleanor could always survive without Delta. She fought with him anyway because she needed his help and had grown to love him.

u call this good ending myn ending is way more fun i can choose if i die or live and she starts crying if she kills me and all stuff and her she laughs you should try ot get the ending i got to chose to survive OR DIE HAHAHAHHA if you die its so poor in my ending :(

@fandanstan I disagree. I think this game has the best connection between story and gameplay. It would be hard to deeply enjoy the ending if you haven't made it by playing. I could be wrong, though :)

I just beat the game this morning, and being a softie and a merciful badass allowed this ending to come to fruition.
This is probably one of the saddest endings in a game I've seen in forever, and I will admit that I almost welled up tears a little.

Huh.... Damn! Shouldn't have harvested that one little sister. If you don't harvest any little sister's, Eleanor won't harvest any of them either right? (when she needed adam on my file she just harvested every single girl) whoops...

Same, i was aiming for good guy and i didn't kill grace but killed evryone else. Also i saved every single lil sister expect one, i harvested her cuz i rlly needed the ADAM. I still wanted to be good so when Elonore was harvesting the rest of the sisters im like "No! Fuck you Elenor! Stop!!!1!1" So yea... woops

The shutdown process was ended. There are 3 other endings. In one ending you don't die at the end. She says she doesn't know where you are but she misses you. But that also could suggest you die anyway from being away from her. It seems as though you don't want to live because of what you are. So in the good+ ending you are absorbed into her through Adam. In the good ending you just disappear. So you die no matter what the ending. It just depends if she gathers you or not.

In the one ending where you sacrifice yourself ur not alive, she means like wherever you are (Heaven or Hell or maybe somewhere else) she misses you. Not like hey you are in alabama i miss you.

It's not so much a "sacrifice" ending as a "redemption" ending. You do not want Eleanor to permanently absorb your cruel tendencies. In doing so, you allow her the possibility of growing up a good person.

Yep :) why its considrered a good ending. Probably they gave you that choice so that if you wanted a good ending but you went bad you can.

I got the same one and what i think happens is that you finally die coz at the beggining u shoot yourself in the head but u survive to save eleanor and now that you saved her your body falls into achomar (however u spell it) and then she takes your mind or something so your always in her head and you can talk to her inside her head and see through her

@crazydriverboy when delta shoots himself in the head, he dies and comes back in a vita chamber. it was being apart from his little sister for 10 years that slowly kills him, and at the end the explosion severely hurts him. also he cannot live in that suit outside of rapture/away from elenor. so elenor decides to bring him with her by extracting his adam and injecting herself with it. deltas adam is like his conscious so he lives in her and shares her senses.

also the last scene when elenor looks at her hand and takes off the arm needle, its being scene from deltas point of view. so now that they share the same senses and conscious they can be together forever ^^ such a happy ending.

No, we're seeing things from Eleanor's perspective after she absorbs him.
She has to consume his ADAM first before he actually enters her head...and all we see her doing in the ending is her taking Delta's ADAM.
She absorbs him later...

yeah i dont really get why he died. i mean, he was near eleanor the whole last bit of the game, and he was further away from the bombs than her when they went off and she seemed fine.
they did mention that lamb stopped eleanors heart long enough to severe the bond. i guess they never really got around to properly reconnecting the bond to stop him from dying? i dont get it. lol

@XQueenKristinx: its the power of ADAM, the whole fact about all that storage of people's thoughts, memories etc being held in ADAM was a key part to the plot in this game alone...Did you even pay attention to what was being said while you played or did you play at all? I'm only asking cause your lack of understanding makes me skeptical, I'm not saying my doubts are right but for a person who has played through the game you seem not to get some pretty key parts of the plot.

I UNDERSTAND that his memories and whatnot survive through the adam and are passed on to Eleanor in the end. As I was saying, the part I DIDN'T understand was why his BODY died, because I figured that being reunited with Eleanor at the end would have stopped the shut-down process.
So one more time - why did being reunited with Eleanor at the end not reconnected the bond? Was it just severed for good? And remember you don't have to be an asshole when you answer me

The bond was already severed when Lamb suffocated Eleanor until her heart stopped. So after that, they didn't have to be with each other to survive anyway. The reason Delta dies at the end is because the explosion mortally wounds him. So it's not like Eleanor is killing him or anything. She's doing it so he can live on through her. Hope that helps.

He was dying from the beginning dude the gunshot to the head, vita chambers don't bring you back to life they keep you alive. And the bomb blast just devastated him he was ganna die soon anyhow so she saved him

Not gonna be an asshole. Ok remember when Lamb suffocated Eleanor? That stopped her heart so the bond thought she was dead so it was severed like "Ok she's dead. He can't get ADAM with her anymore *snip*" So she was still alive but the bond was severed and they didn't need to be with each other to survive anymore. He dies because of that bid explosion. Eleanor was fine because she teleported out at the last second but you still took the blast. There was your answer. Hope i wasn't and asshole!

No, it's pretty clear when you're strapped to that bed (before the Little Sister sequence) that it was the bond breaking that killed you. The Alpha Series are designed go into coma/death/insanity when their Little Sister dies. Although Sofia didn't kill Eleanor, stopping her heart briefly was enough to trigger your killswitch, which is irreversible once engaged.
Eleanor could always survive without Delta. She fought with him anyway because she needed his help and had grown to love him.

in my ending she killed her mother and THEN i got the ending cinema you had.
I saved all little sisters and killed all 4 bosses in between going to the last mission.
