Science is about making what was thought to be impossible, and turning it into reality. Many of our certain invention came from an accident, like the gunpowder which was created by a Chinese who was trying to make a elixir of immortality. We can find out more about life each day, and maybe someday we can unlock the secret of our life.
Because if you had, you'd realize science isn't about making the impossible possible. Science is about the pursuit of knowledge. Not just making stuff up and trying to verify it. Abiogenesis is about as logical as thinking that computers create themselves just because you may not have seen a person who designs computers. I'm not sure why you seem to think that christianity is the only religion that believes in creationism. Most religions believe that life was created. In the field of Abiogenesis, scientist is trying to prove that life can come out of inanimate matter. Many of them have their own theory of how life came to be. Saying everything is created by God is a easy way out in an argument about origin of life. If you're saying nothing can come out of nothingness, than how can God create himself. If you believe the universe can't come out of nonexistent, than wouldn't God not exist too.

First, most scientists, Darwin included, at one time believed that genetics was based upon the inheritence of acquired characteristics. Fortunately, science is not a democracy. Only theories backed by evidence hold any weight. Evolution unfortunately, has no scientific backing in the sense that life can create itself and then evolve into more complex life. It's science fiction, nothing more. And based upon your definition of science, I have to ask, have you studied science at all?

Because if you had, you'd realize science isn't about making the impossible possible. Science is about the pursuit of knowledge. Not just making stuff up and trying to verify it. Abiogenesis is about as logical as thinking that computers create themselves just because you may not have seen a person who designs computers. It truly requires a disconnect from reality, and science, not to believe life was designed. There is also a huge difference between origin and function.

those scientist is trying to figure out why we exist in this world, instead of relying on anicent text. Evolution and abiogenesis can't be proven because we do not have a time machine and nobody is immortal. Same goes for religion inspired creation theories unless he/she/it shows up and demostrates their awesome power to everybody, but I doubt those deity will show themselves. Camera shy?

There's not one single reason for an almighty metaphysical being to exist To me at least. Sorry to disappoint you. I got rid of a certain fear/respect for a "god" a long time ago. There's absolutely no need for it.
On the contrary: the existence of a god would take all sense away for me.
One last thing: evolution is not a theory anymore. It is just natural. Everything evolves and fits itself to its environment, clear as crystal.

And your view of evolution is simply wrong. An organism can only adapt based upon its pre-existing genetic code. Mutation is the only proposed method of acquiring new genetic material, and it has been proven that mutations only work to degrade the genome, not build it.

You never heard of beneficial mutation? A lot of mutation is harmful, but not all of them can weaken their host. Some times it will "degrade the genome", but it doesn't mean it's harmful to the overall organism. It could of remove the old useless genetic information and replace it with something new.

That's the difference: I trust my senses. And my senses tell me that they don't perceive a god. That is fact to me, my reality. Plus I can see the moon, and the moon is of course scientifically all measured etc., as opposed to some ghosts. Bad example.
It's just a matter of emotions really, so why bother. It's wrong trying to prove a god's existence, you will just fail.
I just wanted to say that evolution just happens. Naturally. My very catholic friend sees no problem with that.

First AnonymousCowardX, by that definition of engineer you'd be insulting every designer that ever lived. Second, God may have made a perfect creation, but given how many generations have passed degradation has occured. Genetic mistakes accumulate within the genome and are inherited. Take a complicated computer program for instance. It doesn't matter how well designed it is, the longer it runs, the greater the probability for errors to occur. The same goes for anything that was designed.

Well, nearly every major branch of science was founded by creationists, many of whom believed science brought them closer to God. Creationism cannot be rejected out of hand as being unscientific. And as far as facts, look at just about anything involved in sustaining life. As a biology major, I could discuss many. Take a look at DNA, a code more complex than any computer code ever written. Or how about the coagulation cascade? Features that could not arise from natural processes.

Most of the major branches of science is founded before creationism. A lot of scientific knowledge we have today came from Egypt, Greece, China and some other countries. All of them didn't have Christianity or believing in a single God.
For the coagulation cascade remark, have you ever heard of the Infinite monkey theorem. A monkey with a typewriter and a infinite amount of time can produce a work of Shakespear. With enough time, anything can happen by accident.

Actually probably the most contributions to science came from the persian empires and people dating back to 7500 BC. I read many books that said iranian scientific contributions where far beyond any in ancients times. But right now they are only world leaders in bio-chemistry and bio-physics. If you type in wikipedia Iran then you see how long their list is for science and technology is. But Arabs came and burned all of the iranian peoples books and language and so on. Irony in my opinion.

I thought you mean one of the popular monotheistic religion, when you only mention God instead of Gods. But back than, all of them have to believe in a higher power because they want someone to look after them. But right now over 90% of our certain scientist is either Atheists/Agnostics or plainly doubts the existent of God. Even Charles Darwin was part of the Church of England before he came up with the theory of evolution.
