This movie blew me away-the music, the situation, Maggie the "hag", his first "time" thinking it was the "one"-all of it gave me shivers. What a real movie-I felt everything Chris' character felt at some point or another.

By the end of the movie, I wanted to get into the TV and take him out of there for myself. One of the greatest gay coming of age stories EVER. It never makes his journey flaming or cartoonish.

This is my fav film...! I love it so much it has to be one of, if not the best coming out story ever... So realistic and the acting is just amazing...:') Makes me cry everytime LOL X ...♥... X

This movie always gives me the chills; it was filmed at and around Cedar Point and Sandusky, OH and is practically my own coming out story. I worked at the amusement park for the summer, although I worked on the Mill Race ride and not in the foods dept. And I was there in 1987, not 1984, but nearly everything else about the movie mirrors my own story. And it was great that they filmed scenes in the gay bar Universal Fruit and Nut Company!! LOVE, love, love this movie!
