  • The reason you are free is not because of money. You must study and comprehend history including your own for a view of life that will make sense to you. Only then will you understand the importance or lack thereof money.

  • "Why can't the government just print enough money to make everyone happy"

Wow! It is really unfortunate that adults like this man, after going through school, still do not understand the most basic principles of the monetary system the world is built on. Shows how poor the education system is in America. I was taught this stuff in grade 7 in Canada. Thanks sedatedlife18 for giving the brief overview! Recommend reading it before posting more "

i hate the system of capitalism" videos.

  • This video shows a great deal of ignorance to the mechanisms of capitalism, socialism, and the free market of exchange. You seek to demonize the little green piece of paper as being an unjust means to control people when the truth is so completely the opposite. Money is given in exchange for goods or services. The monetary value of said goods and/or services is set by the market. By that I mean it's set by the people who engage in the exchange of money for goods and services. (cont.)

  • (cont.) When the price is arbitrarily set to high by the distributor of the goods or services the market responds by refusing to patronize said business. Thus relegating this business to failure. When the price is set too low due to artificial inflation (which is produced by the government injecting money into the economy without cause or purpose) the businesses suffer because they make little or no profit. These businesses are still beholden to their workers... (cont.)

  • (cont.)... which is where people like you and I enter the exchange. We provide a service called work to many different types of businesses in exchange for an agreed upon amount of money per time spent working. This agreed upon amount of money may not be the desireable wage for the worker, but it is truly what the market at large has determined your capacity is worth. Some working capacities have been determined by market to be worth a great deal more. (cont.)

  • (cont.) In certain cases (like doctors or lawyers) this disparity in pay is justified. In other cases (like athletes or entertainers) it is set high by the consumers themselves. We each have a set of skills in life which we use to better ourselves in whatever working capacity we have chosen. Some skills are more valuable than others due to rarity, thus are paid a higher wage. The truly greedy man is the one who would suggest that a governing body should... (cont.)

  • (cont.)... arbitrarily take away the value of these rare skill sets, and instead bestow upon each person equally regardless of their skills or lack thereof. The truly greedy man is the one who would suggest that all men/women should be given equal amenities in life regardless of their contribution to society. Socialism works in this way. It seeks to remove the individualism of skill, and force all people to work for equal compensation. I could go on, but I'll let you think for awhile.

  • The government can print money (which they are now doing), but they cannot print wealth. Wealth can only be acquired through labor and innovation.

Capitalism isn't a system, it's what people naturally do when they are free. Free to buy/sell at a price they agree on; free to donate if they so choose to those who may need help.

Printing money only makes the things you buy cost more; it's a zero sum game. It helps debtors; while punishing savers and the children that haven't yet been born.

  • I don't know what you mean. Really?! Really?!

  • You can't print money because every dollar you print reduces the value of all the currency.

In the free market you can barter if you want and you can use money if you want.

Oh, and to respond to your question that if I knew what you were talking about...no, honestly I don't.

  • actually there was a lot of killing, war, and even cannibalism in Africa before white people came.

  • this guy has no fucking clue what he is shitting!!just because i refuse to buy your grapes does not make capitalism a failure.its a failure to you but not to the customer!!

  • It dosent make the system a failiure , but it makes the people into assholes , serously money is evil , it corrupts you , makes u a money lovin asshole , thats why i chose socialism/communism , sereously who fucking needs money ? Live a happy , simple life with fun and not corruption , there was justice , until assholes Yelcin took over because of him a lot of Justice goes up capitalism's ass and capitalism is happy so in my opinion who likes capitalism is pretty stupid

  • I am greedy. Yes. In the free market, I can steal money, or sell products that people want. If you are a classical liberal you believe the government should prevent the former.

How do I sell things? I make them better than others. Competition induces advancement, and people are rewarded by what they provide to others.

You cannot coerce others in the free market outside of their own stupidity.

  • I loved your response.. it's doable and society can live without money and without governments. hopefully not abolish one without the other.

  • Ultimately you only have 2 belief systems. Either you believe that man is free and owns his own life, or that he is not. Either his life belongs to himself, or to society. I do agree with you that "money" has no real value, obviously...it is merely paper. Money is used as a tool of oppression, but also as a liberator. It is a tool that can be used for both good and evil. Does that make it evil? No. Money is not the root of the evil, man is.

  • Yes but the 'root' as you call turns more people evil thats the problem

  • Though it is truly wrong and sad how African people were enslaved, you are very mistaken if you think white, American, or English people were the only or even the first people to enslave them. To say that you were happy in Africa is a guess at best, and an ignorance of history at worst.

The slave trade primarily started between Africa and the middle east. England and America were the last to get involved. You were enslaved by your own people first.

  • I should say, just to clarify, that I'm not saying that because African people were enslaved by Africans first, that that makes it okay for other people to do so. All slavery is wrong, by any people and to any people. I was just trying to correct the mistake that I see a lot of people make about Africans were happy before the white/american/english people came along.

  • Did you actually watch the video you are responding too?

  • hmm so you would rather to just live as a slave rather than use a means of trade

    good to know

lots of people are like you. they will make good slaves for my empire

    cheers!

  • To answer some of your questions:

    1) The Earth does not produce what we need to survive. It provides a few things, such as air and warmth (okay, that's the Sun, but you get the idea). But even things as simple as water and food must be acquired, cultivated, purified, discovered, etc, all by the application of our minds and effort. When that enters the equation, we have to start being able to exchange the effort we expend on these things with others to have all the things necessary to life.

  • 2) The government cannot give us a good life by printing money because, as you rightly pointed out, the money we use today is worth nothing intrinsically. However, not all forms of money are valueless. Once upon a time, people used real value as money - things that could not be printed by governments or banks.

  • The goods and services you speak of as a medium of exchange are a great way to go. This is what mankind did up until the last century or so. The most preferred good was gold and silver because it does not spoil when stored, is easily divisible, and has a high value density (you don't have to have a truckload of it to buy a loaf of bread). But this is just another form of money, which is why I showed in my video that money can be diamonds, sheep, etc. But as you said, paper money is worthless.

  • Finally, the injustices you spoke of are indeed an outrage. I don't think we can ever rid ourselves of it completely because it is part of human nature for this kind of thing to occur. But as much as possible, we must continually fight to keep our society a society of laws and not of men - meaning that everyone is equal before the law and nobody - especially politicians or celebrities - is above the law.

  • 1) the world does not produce by it self what we need to survive, we humans need to use nature to produce and cover all our necesities.

we dont need money, we need food, a house, go to school, etc, etc.

money is just a mean that burgouise use to opress the working class, its one of the many metods of the burgoise to maintain control.

colectivization of technologich and social discoveries & achievments dont need money or capitalism or free trade. they can be shared free, no need to put a price.

  • 2)in fact goverment canot print money to all, bcause it will cause inflation, and other issues on the market & economic stability will blow up. also central banks wil produce debt.

capitalist system is based on generating the max revenew, it will never let human race to develop freely.

capitalist system gives you the ilution of "free trade" and then abolishes al other kind of freedom. when capitalist imperialism developed free trade was over, and so the so called "private property". all ilutions

  • have you seen the second zeitgeist? A LOT of zeitgeist should be watched with caution as it makes very bold claims, but i think you'd enjoy what it says about capitalism. What you're speaking of now reflects a lot of the ideas in the second zeitgeist movie.

(google search zeitgeist addendum.. you can watch it free online)

  • i'll check it out, for sure. thank you much.

  • Really GOOD VID buddy!

  • thanks

  • Great video, I agree.

  • i'm glad you agree. one day we'll all be free.

  • How are you not free now other than the taxes you have to pay most of which isn't part of Capitalism or Constitutional?
