  • LoVe

  • cant help myself but the new one is better

  • Too bad he didn't have hornets in the back seat with him. "Hornet Nest...Check!"

  • The only thing they did right with the movie is that they didn't change too much of the original Black Beauty's design.

  • man its katos black beauty

  • the green hornet was like gosh how many buttins are there in this switch?

  • I want a car like that!

  • As kids, we thought that the Hornet and Batman was, at least, competitive.

We all knew that Kato would kick Robin's behind, and still have time to order out for pizza.

  • Just saw the movie an hour ago. It was PRETTY COOL!

  • I saw the Green Hornet for the first time on the GH marathon they had on SyFy. It's a pretty good show!

  • I like the Black Beauty, but never thought much about the name. Black Beauty? It derserved a tuffer name than that - not something Kato's mom would call it. Too me it wasn't built for speed. Instead, it was a battle tank. It would probably take out the batmobile if they ever fought. That sucker had missle launchers, machine guns, bombs, protective coating from lasers, UAV and all the electronic goodies Batman never had. Don't get me wrong, I like Batman too.

  • @fortknoxguy lol i heard it as the black booty...

  • the lights one the car have surprisingly good effects for an old show

  • It's odd for me to see this in colour.

I always watched in beautify black and white.

  • @mottledbrain Me too! These were our "Standard Definition" days. The Green Hornet in color. Now the Green Hornet in high definition!

  • I remember this show and the car was cool.

  • @Robo1415 I remember it, too and my mother was so impressed by the show that when we bought a green AMC Rambler in 1968 she named it "The Green Hornet"!

  • @2degucitas i DON'T KNOW IF THE NEW GREEN HORNET MOVIE IS ANY GOOD,BUT THE CAR IN IT LOOKS QUITE A BIT LIKE THE ORIGINAL.YEARS AGO I OWNED A 1967 RAMBLER REBEL AMERICAN.LOT OF MEMORIES WITH THAT CAR.

  • i going to see the movie

  • I wonder does hanging the car upside down affect the oil and all the other fluids in the car?? where the hell does the fluids go upside down?? In all reality, i don't think any car would run properly hanging upside for a period of time. But that type of sophistication was really good for T.V back then.

  • I always wondered if hanging the cars upside down for any lenghty period of time would have any damaging effect on the engine, transmission, or other systems. 'Corse it didn't matter to me back in the 60's cuz i was a kid then and loved watching this as well as Batman during the week.

  • I LOVE THE HORNET STING MY FAVORITE WEAPON AND YEA WHATS UP BB WASNT IN TOP 10 THATS BS CAR ROCKED

  • I always liked when they checked their stuff. It was better than Atomic Batteries to power turbines to speed on Batman.

  • I want to say Mr. Freeze, but I dont think thats right.

  • There was also a tow part episode of Batman, where i n the 1st part, the Dynamic Duo, thought The Green Horent and Kato were bad guys. In the second part, they team up to defeat the "real Bad guys."

  • Lets roll Kato!!!!

  • The show was good but was on the same time that Batman was big. The Green Hornet was actually a very popular radio show through the 30's & 40's and was a also in a couple of Serial movie productions.

  • @parkman35 There was even a cross over between to two shows.

  • ...sorry I must have accidently deleted a reply that said that the GH was on Batman but never on the GH show.

Well actually in one GH episode, thugs were changing a TV/Closed Circut screen and what was on the TV, Batman and Robin ( Adam West and Burt Ward) in a Bat-climb up the side of a building!

  • @APennyW on another episode a thug was watching BATMAN on a TV screen. that episode was called the secret of the sally bell.****

  • @d4seasons You are correct, also in Ace in the Hole, and the Green Hornet appeared on Batman on TV as Bruce is watching. See other video titled

Green Hornet on Batman, Batman on The Green Hornet

  • @parkman35 Well you know Batman started in comics in the 30's, and through out thr 40's and 50's were in several movie serials.

  • @elvis3700 Oh yes..I've seen the Batman movie serials. They drove a regular car! BTW on the TV show out of all the villians thta appeared only 5 came from the comic book storylines..The Joker...Penguin...Riddler...Catwoman....can you name the 5th?

  • I noticed the car's sound effects were the same as the Batmobile's!

  • hornet sting zzzzzzz check ahahahahaha

  • Jo-Han Models provided the 1/25th scale replica of the 1966 Chrysler 300 as it rotated and revealed the Black Beauty, which was a heavily customized 1966 Imperial (also a replica for this scene). Great posting video clip, thanks!

  • Not sure about Jo-Han providing the '66 Chrysler 300 model for the show? The BB and Chrysler 300 models were

    1/6th scale. Jo-Han did make a 1/25th scale 300 model (I have one)

Check out my other video on the garage scene!

  • The Only thing good about this show was the car, and bruce lee.

  • don't forget Van Williams , Wende Wagner, & the rest of the cast. also the storylines were great.****

  • To say that means you know nothing about the show. Van Williams was excellent as the Hornet.

  • poorly over acted like all shows from the time, but for the Era pretty good I guess

  • Best thing about this classic 20-some episodes: The series never got bad!

  • it was 26. just a darn shame it couldn't have lasted longer like Batman. it was a great, fun series. my favorite car is the Black Beauty.****

  • Seth Rogen would utterly tank as the Green Hornet. What a total miscast!.

  • They have some cool shows on TV now, but none of them had this cool car switch.

Can you imagine if they had "Human Target" with a switch like this? Or if Jack Bower did this on 24?

Nope. No cool gadgets on TV anymore.

    Not even Doll House.

  • Coolest show ever made...Black beauty is one cool car !

They are making a new green hornet as I write.

    5 stars!

  • Yes,indeed, the coolest show ever made. Unfortunately, they are making a movie with Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet, what a total misinterpretation. He would have been better off as Mike ,the reporter who works for Britt Reid, the newspaper publisher.

  • by the way, in 1955 , the IMPERIAL was SPUN OFF of the Chrysler line ...and became a SEPARATE MAKE ... still made by the Chrysler Corporation , but no longer a Chrysler....so the term "Chrysler Imperial" is errorenous for all Imperials made from 1955-1983. For more details, please go to Wikipedia and look up " IMPERIAL (automobile). also , go to GOOGLE , and enter "IMPERIAL SEPARATE MAKE 1955" .

  • I haven't seen this in over 40 years.

The thing I remember most about the show is the Green Hornet's car.

    What an auto!

  • The Black Beauty was an 1966 IMPERIAL LeBARON....an IMPERIAL of the same year will be used in the upcoming 2010 GREEN HORNET MOVIE ...but this time it will have twin MACHINE GUNS on the FRONT FENDERS !!!

  • The Black Beauty was a 1966 Imperial Crown not a LeBaron, and the new movie is using 1965 models (note the difference in the trunk lids)

  • 100% correct. I am 48 years old and am still a die-hard fan. I had the opportunity to see this car in person. It is a 1966 Imperial Crown.

  • Dean Jeffries chose a 1966 Chrysler Crown Imperial for the task. Very possibly Chrysler's first prominent TV/Movie car.

  • Seth Rogen will utterly tank as The Green Hornet.

  • nice car we destroyed like 5 or 6 of them.

    :(

  • Yeah, and the Green Hornet will be played by Seth Rogen, what a total fucked up!! He would have been better as Mike, the reporter.

  • From the episode "Eat, Drink, and Be Dead".

  • and this doesnt even come close to seth rogen what the hell were they thinking!! van williams was the shit back in the day!!! the only person i can think of is jason sathom as the next green hornet and tony jaa as kato ...

  • Hell Yeah!!,they would have had to make a "bald headed Britt Reid". I think the best choice would have been Hugh Jackman.

  • Tony Jaa would be cool

  • my Green Hornet cast

    Hornet: George Clooney

    Kato: Jet Li

  • im agreee with u mr...

    but unfortunately

    ur dream could ruins...

instead of the cast u wish...

the new cast were Seth Rogen as hornet...

    and kato were jay chou...

    orz

  • yeah, i know

    real shame....

  • I always enjoyed this part of the episodes.

  • with class & style. i wished i purchased that power machine.

  • Comment removed

  • It is a shame that the Black Beauty was not among the top 10 TV cars

  • @45corleone - Suggest when turning a 1966 auto upsidee down all the fuel & all the oil will drain "UP" into the CARB & drip out of the vehic;e - why do you think they call it the OIL PAN ? only aircraft are built to sustain inverted operations - Hay Kato why does the inside of the Black Beauty smell like gasoline ?

  • @rentatrip1 : Don't worry, the car that flips over is just a miniature. I doubt they put any oil in it.

    ;-)

  • @eimb1999 - oh thank GOD - I have not slept one night since watching this because i know everything is real even wrestling- besides why didn't the original developers of this concept give this consideration ? my original question, of course its a model - but there are alternative methods of "hidding" a duplicate sleeper car , LIKE ...evevator lift into a basement or up to a upper level .... thanks for your comment -I can finaly get some rest

  • @rentatrip1 Maybe Kato was awesome enough to modify it for inverted storage. Given all the other modifications he made to the Black Beauty, would that really be beyond his abilities?

  • It would be really awesome if Micheal Gondry & crew choose to show a 2-3 minute prologue during another movie, like they did with the dark knight & I am legend....

  • Seems like the vehicle would lose fluids hanging upside like that.

  • let alone his cd collection Oh ya they didn't have cd's in the 60's

  • Clooney had already been named as the Green Hornet for a movie (paired with Jason Scott Lee as Kato) back in the mid-90s. He dropped that to do Batman. I was crushed; I didn't think he'd have been a bad Hornet. The current Buzz is that it's going to be Seth Rogen (!?!) and Stephen Chow as the Green Hornet and Kato. Chew on that casting for a while. ;-)

  • Seeing what Clooney did to batman I imagine having the movie shelved is a small price to pay if he's not in it!

  • It was MUCH better than the 60's Batman!

  • do we really want Clooney messing up another hero role???

  • @batmanlooksgood

    Clooney didn't mess up anything.

Jon Peters messed that movie up.

  • I wonder what the black beauty will look in Michel Gondry's movie The Green Hornet. He also directed Tokyo which was awesome.

  • George Clooney and Jet Li would make a great pair. What do you think?

  • wow, resembles the new pres limo.."the beast"

they should have called it "Black Beauty"...:D

guess that wouldn't have went over too well...

  • I loved the green hornet..

amazing thing to read it was in 1966???

    lmao..i was 5 years old...

    i still remember watching it...

blew my mind several years ago to find out Kato was Bruce Lee...wow...

small beginnings for such a legend...and what an idiotic death caused by negligence...or was it?

  • The Green Hornet t.v. show was winning it's time slot, the issue was the producer wanted to do an hour show. When the producer and the network couldn't agree the show was not renewed for another season.

  • Imagine a new version of the Green Hornet... George Clooney and Jackie Chan as Kato!!!! Great isn't it?

  • I'd love to find this on DVD.

  • Me too!!!!!

  • @us71 we fans are still waiting for 20th century fox to release this series along w/ BATMAN. it's taking too long already. maybe when THE GREEN HORNET movie comes out on jan. 14, 2011 ? as a matter of fact it's sold in new york's chinatown as japanese DVD bootlegs. it's 6 episodes on one disc for $ 9.95. three DVD's for $ 27.00. i wouldn't buy them.

  • Kinda shocking that this show wasn't a hit.

  • @gaIIery well the ratings were low & that's important. if only it continued lots of more action & features of THE BLACK BEAUTY were to be shown. it was fun while it lasted. Van Williams is the only living soul .
