okay i need yur help.. my little step bro has the iphone 3g.. he went to some place so they can jailbreak it and unlock it for tmobile. he wanted to update it to the new ios 5.1 i think. so he had to restore it.. and when it was done restoring it said on itunes that sim card is invalid. so idk if it even updated. so i tried re jailbreaking it and nothing happens.. plz help!!! even after i jailbroke it with redsn0w the ipod has the littke plug into itunes thing.. and i plug it in and invalid sim

After many fails, I finally got it... A note to you that are just now watching this, you have to google and download redsn0w 0.7. It's the ONLY redsn0w version I found to work with firmware 3.0 on touch 1st gen. and if you can't find the 3.0 firmware for 1st gen ipod touch, google the download for that too! Great video! Then upgrade to 4.0

Then resotore on the backup you set up

Will you lose wifi passwords? Will you have to enter them again?

thx man out of all of the ones who i learn how to jail break is u, but not all the time but ur way works. I tryed to jailbreak to 3.1.3 and my touch was 3.0, u said it can be jailbroken in any firmware. So i did twice and still error so i did this one instead. All I get is a window that shows Waiting for reboot, ipod is all black. iTunes shows a message that it detected an iPod in recovery mode. It must be restored before it can be used in iTunes. I have 3.0.1 firmware and RedSn0w 8. It accepts the firmware on the browse and I hold the buttons with power off then it shows connecting and dl software after holding buttons and releasing power button. This happens all the time and I have to do a full restore with option/control keys
