download dvd2xbox put that on your soft modded xbox then you open that up and you can rip the game to your hard drive.....if you rip halo 2 to ur drive then you can mod it =) its fun

i remember xbmc. too bad i got a 360 like a month after i modded my xbox. still i don't think i've ever seen a menu/dashboard/interface this great for a console. the fact that xbox stock is capable of so little and xbmc utilises every single drop of potential of what the xbox can do is truly amazing. i wish current consoles could do the same since they're now capable of so much more. heck even the new xbox experience sucks in comparison.

yep, though i chose to do a dual boot firmware. so basically whenever i load my xbox i am sent to xbmc (my main dash) and if power my xbox on by opening the disc tray then it boots the original firmware so you can play on live. you get 3 options for installation before you install custom f/ware.

you can play games off the hdd without the disc.

There are 2 ways to mod an xbox: hard mod with chip and softmod with software.

I only know the softmod bit:

You need these two: Action Replay and memory card. (Mech Assault, splinter cell 1 or 007 night under fire) Buy any of those games but they must be original not platinum.

search on google for Krazyiez's Ndure softmode. If I spelt the Krayzie right:/

No chip, no specific game and no memory card. You can do this by downloading free software: XboxHDM (makes a boot CD to prepare a harddrive via hotswap to PC) and Ndure 3 (softmod, creates the files needed to make the harddrive run unsigned code etc).

All I bought to modify the stock harddrive was a set of TORX screwdrivers - those are the six-bladed ones necessary to open the case and remove the harddrive from it's cradle.

XBMC completely pwns any other media centre I've seen, and it has the cockiness to do it on modified Xbox consoles which you can buy for next to nothing!

If you want to add a bigger HDD, download XBpartitioner from XBINS before making an F or G drive and use it to change the cluster sizes. Any HDD over 150GB needs this to avoid data corruption.

My XBMC Xbox has a 500GB Seagate with 100 films, 20 TV shows, 30 XBOX games, emulators including SNES with 800+ games and still has space to spare.

I'm gonna softmod my XBox & install XBMC this weekend, & one of the main things I'd like to do is run my classic emulators. If I have this figured correctly, the 'normal' emulators which run on Windows WON'T work in XBMC, I think I have to get special emulators designed to run on XBox,right?What about the roms though? you are rite, you need xbox emulators. a simple google search can show you where to get them. Once you have them all you do is ftp them to you E:\emu or F:\emu folder and they should work. the roms that you have will work, jus put them in the roms folder. i have xbmc as a default dash with psx, n64, megadrive, nes, snes, gameboy adv and arcade they all work and so do the roms. gud look

this guy has his shite set up wrong, you gotta turn off the opening animation (its loud as hell and volume cant be controlled by xbmc,) xbmc should always be the default dash (can anyone name anything another dash can do that xbmc cant???), milkdrop is the coolest visualization. i store all my media on my comp and share over my network, that way i save space for games and emulators

there is by setting it to the Alt Dashboard.

It can be done with the latest Ndure. You need to go to the softmod/linux screen. Where you can uninstall, turn off or no the softmod. You need to go to extras and set the altdashboard to XBMC. I Can't remember, but just search the extra bits and you will find it

no need, i found a REALLY helpful and easy to follow tutorial on this site. basically all you need to do is access your xbox via FTP, click on E and then Dashboards. once inside you delete everything in that folder and replace it with the xbmc file and restart your xbox.Simple

error 21 means there is a problem anywhere in the system. Can you still play games? if you can try and launch to the linux scree with the softmod game you used. Just put in the softmod game you used and load the linux profile

if you leave your xbox unplug for up to 4hours. You will get error 16. The most annoying one!

21 means there is a problem somewhere on your xbox..or the xbox hdd is unlocked

no..you don't have to go all the way to File Explorer to load XBMC. If you did wat I say carefully, you can select it from the main menu. Put all files contain in XBMC that as default.xbe, user data, skins etc. Put them in a new folder called XBMC. And put the XBMC in the Apps folder. That should be easy:/

all files you put in the xbox goes inside the E Folder. If you want the programs to show up in the menu, you need to add them in the right place. Emulators goes in emu, games go in games and programs goes in apps. You need to make them into 1 folder, not 1 folder and another folder containing the files. That is why I am trying to explain this to you: Apps→XBMC→default.xbe, userdata etc.

If it goes like this:Apps→XBMC→XBMC→default.xb­e, userdata etc

It doesn't matter, you can unzip before putting it on xbox or zip. If you unzip it before people it on the xbox, its easier. BUt if you send it to the xbox zipped, its faster!

you can!

the screen on the right is the place you move the files to.

LEFT SCREEN: go to XBMC SVN→default.xbe. Press the R Trigger to move to the RIGHT SCREEN: go to E Folder.

Press L TRIGGER to go to the Left screen and select move on the default.xbe, and it should move it to the E folder. Or copy.

you have to move all the files in a folder under those catergories. Like this

Emus→snes→default.xbe, help, userconfig etc

Apps→XBMC→userdata, skins, default,xbe

if they are like this it won't show up in the menu:

Apps→XBMC v19→XBMC→userdata, skins, default.xbe
