let me get this right, i can back up my 4.3.1 firmware SHSH blobs, (which i did, and work even though is corrupted) then get my IPSW. and jut leave it like that, then update to 5.0.1 have some fun and then if i don't like it i can mix my Blobs from 4.3.1 and IPSW then make my custom IPSW then Shift restore and go back to that? and untethered jailbreak 4.3.1? and if i hate it i can update to ios 5.0.1 save blobs + IPSW and be safe to update or downgrade agian?

@sheeno888 Nooo... it was only for demonstration purposes only.... ideally, make a signed ipsw of your current 4.x.x Os corresponding with you Idevice model, just i case something goes wrong with you update to 5.X.X...

So while it was going down the line, my hand nicked on the cable and it came out partially. I'm not sure if this bugged it or what but it started looping at 6/13 saying "Verifying" and "Dumping" forever. So I turned off the iPod 3g (iOS v4.1) and did the whole process again and it looped at the same spot. I moved to a different computer and it still looped at Devicetree 6/13. I ran out of options now, anyone knows what can be done? My iPod is working fine, I just need to SHSH.

@Iv4n07 be careful, because if you have iphone 4 and update to ios5 without preserving baseband, you are stuck in locked possition. even if you do downgrade later to ios4 your baseband will still be locked

@TheGeekNC download iFaith and it will tell you the instructions, and yes you can save your SHSH Blobs with iFaith on tethered jailbreak. remember it will reboot your device because it need to go to DFU Mode, you do not lose your jailbreak if you reboot, but make you boot tether with whatever tool you jailbroke your iphone.

@Jailbreaker561 right click on your devices name in itunes then select back up , and once you restore to any firmware you can just restore from a back up (right on your device name and then restore from a back up) but keep in mind that you only restore from back up if you are on an upper firmware or same firmware that you have backed up
