I hate to say it, but Obama's energy policies are going to mess up the economy (including jobs). Americans will be paying more to heat their homes, gas will be more expensive and many business are going to be forced to lay off workers or close. We'll lose a couple jobs for every green job created.

If global warming happening, yes. Are people at least accelerating it, science says so. Is it our biggest concern at the moment, not even close. We currently live in a world where a device that can fit in a suitcase can take NY City. China is quickly moving towards the point of supper power, not to mention the threats from Iran and North Korea. Our only protection from these things is the military, that takes funding, which takes money. We get money from our industry. Global warming can weight.

When you raise electricity prices, behavious is gonna change. People will start by stutting the lights where you dont need it - the energy consumtion will be a major factor, when you buy a fridge/freezer....etc, etc - and you will improve your house.

Youre correct jmj- We will be the only country doing anything like this while the rest of the world continues as is. Obama is touting a pipe dream that will do nothing more than put people out of work here in the country. If this country COMPLETELY quit driving cars or creating greenhouse gases today, the climate will continue to degrade. This is a futile attempt at giving people something else to cling to...false hope at best.

Christ, you are confused. Quit driving cars? When has that been the goal? If every industrialized country reduced its emissions over time and funded alternative energy it would make a big difference. That's all. And it needs to happen.
Sure, the focus right now may not be on pushing for green jobs. But the sooner we get started, the better. The resources we use now are finite, inefficient, and produce a shitload of unwanted byproduct. We can do more with less.

We need to get rid of environmental protection and not worry about it. It's too LATE to fix it. I think the government should go ahead and do all the drilling they want, all the nuclear energy they want, and let the pollution go-with a world population of nearing 7 billion, the pollution will help weed down the herd. Drill, baby, drill!

Here is why.Not only would it take 10-13yrs before any of the oil would flow to market, it would be sold on the international market as oil companies are not in the biznaz of giving oil away, plus, at the VERY BEST Est. America only has about 5% of what we import in oil reserves in ground.All Drill Baby Drill would do is boost oil company balance sheets it would do nothing to reduce Foreign oil imports.

Doesn't matter that it does not produce oil-it will give jobs to people. Well, at least it will give people at least the false hope that it will do something. Bottom line I think the government should DO AWAY with all environmental protection and regulations because the pollution will get people to drop dead like flies from the pollution as the earth is too overpopulated with people.

What I'm saying is that world population is out of control and pollution is the only real way of dealing with it-so the government should DO AWAY with ALL environmental regulations so people would drop off like flies like they do in China. It's already happening in China. They are also the richest nation in the WORLD.
