  • Wow, just beautiful!

  • I don't even know what emotion I feel when I listen to this song. I cannot describe it. But it's a good one

  • One of my favourite pieces :) I made a cover of this, on my channel!

  • Ludovico Einaudi can tell a story with the piano. he can make it sing in many different ways and songs. he knows what sound touches peoples hearts because it has touched his own. the way he rights songs is about the mood he is in and how he feels. in this song he is showing sympathy for the hippo:) Ludovico Einaudi is my HERO!!!!

  • i love playing this :) beautiful song

  • @GorillaaGodzilla hey is this thee gorillaagodzilla :) lol

  • the most beautiful piece ever written. only a truly talented man can make you cry just with some music

  • Einaudi the genius

  • Such emotion is this on this is England I know a couple of songs were and they were perfect at capturing the emotions in that film

  • Hold on hippo, it will be ok..

  • "An old song from Mali tells the story of a hippopotamus who lived at the meeting point of two rivers, and everyone in a village nearby grew to love. But one day the hippopotamus was shot by a hunter. From that day the song is sung to lament the death of a king or a grate person, or a regret for the loss of a loved one" - Einaudi ♥

  • Hippo: He said i was fat :'(

  • im so greatful for bein introduced to this wonderful piece of music... it helps me to stay calm, when things are goin wrong, or if im stressed... this music just takes it all away! aw i love it :)

  • While he drank his water to recover from the night before, Hippo stopped, as stood there looming at his reflection.... he realized he had become the very mammal he promised his family and himself that he would never become... when the coke was all gone, beer drunk and the scent of girls left his nose it was then that hippo understood............ HE WAS TRULY ALONE ;) lol

  • Hippo I oqqiH

  • the question is not why hippo... the question is why i love hippos after watching this....?

  • when things aren going bad and you sit down and realize that it isnt its just your thinking about in thr wrong way. thats what i think of when i hear this song

  • was this used on a tv advert? This is the first time I have heard it (I thought) but I really recognise it from somewhere else..

  • the Hippo is Happy now

  • Never fails to make me feel better, any of his music. What a talent.

  • If you like this probably you will like my piece as well:

    watch?v=G5tZEVz6mUs

  • This is great

  • I love this song! :D It has given me inspiration to make music ;)

If you want to, you can hear my first official piano song in my channel

    - Please comment and subscribe! :D

  • I can play this on piano :)

  • Perfection! this is absolutley breathtaking, I really don't know where I would be without this song xx

  • im 13..i learnt how to play this and played it in front of 500people..not a dry eye in the house..not even mine! i love this piece soo much!!!<3

  • @Msdistarr agreed much of his work is amazing, but surely only a few can qualify for his best. I would suggest i giorni, divinire, nuvole bianche, eden roc and the earth prelude, plus almost any from Nightbook. That album just blew my mind.

  • Ditemi le differenze tra questa e stelle del mattino!! Sono tutte uguali

  • I had read a comment a few months back, in which this person was asked which of Mr. Einaudi's songs was his favorite. He replied "the one I am listening to at that moment". I thought that was a brilliant comment and it certainly sums up my feelings on the subject. How could one ever choose? It's an impossibility.

  • this is real music, i think i have heard this on a film before?

  • the 50 dislikes are people who obviously cant play the piano!

  • @LoveNakoo or Justin Bieber's fan.

  • DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISLIKE TOO

  • @hunteruh Such a simpleton.

  • @hunteruh Broaden your horizons of music a little bit, and you'll get used to the beauty that is classical music. And you may even like it.

  • LOLOLOLOL DIS MUSIX IS SHITZZ.. WHO CAN LIEK THIS???// WHERES DA GANGSTA RAP? WOT ABOUT DUBSTEEEEPZZ?

  • @hunteruh Not everything has to have gansta rap and dubstep in it, my friend. For centuries, this has been the only type of music that humans have listened to - no dubstep, no rap, just pure instruments and voices - most of the time, the most popular pieces were without any voices on at all. Not even a single wub on anything. None of it was made by computers. It was all emotion and love, depth and understanding. That, my friend, is real music. And I prefer this to gansta rap and dubstep any day!

  • @hunteruh Instead of writing a comment. You could have searched 'Gangsta Rap' or 'Dubstep' in the search bar. Oh anyone can like music like this. It's a matter of choice.

  • @MrNumbcake

I think he was trolling... oO

  • this is real music

  • One of my favourite things in the world

  • Ludovico you incredible person.... if u like him check out "the mountain -nuvole bianche" thats how he mezmerised me...

  • @TheUnreal66 Yes Nuvole Bianche is probably his masterpiece, but I've never heard of this 'The Mountain'.

  • @Ultermarto type "The Mountain" in the searching bar,you won't regret it my friend

  • I am indie/rock mainly but came across this guys music on this Is England and it moved me in ways I never thought it captures every moment and emotion top stuff man

  • Can everyone leave the hippo alone please, hes going through a tough time right now...

  • that hippo understands what it is to live

  • Comment removed

  • I can't stop listen to this guys music. I was introduced after the music from an arsenal video believe it or not..

  • i find it crazy how i can go from melodic deathcore like Born of Osiris....to this...and not find it as an awkward transition.

  • Heard on Classical radio a few days ago and hunted down this song... I'm almost finished learning it now and I recommend it to anyone that plays piano! It's lovely to play, and there's enough little differences so that it's not too repetitive. My Granny was right all those times she said simple was best... Einaudi has captured that. He and Tiersen would get on well...

Oh and how nice to have classical music created by someone that's still alive!

  • the name i giorni means 'the days'. nothing about hippoes :P

  • Christmas tree lights lighting up the room, headphones on listening to this and i am so relaxed, the world feels so far away, This music is so relaxing,

  • I dont understand how anyone can dislike this, its amazing!

  • 50 people like dubstep.

  • @retardeddolphin I listen dubstep and i still love classic, so it doesn't make any sense what you are saying :)

  • @retardeddolphin shut up... REAL lovers of music will appreciate ALL types of music.

  • @Messapico, sei pugliese? mi spieghi quella storia dell'ippopotamo che non ci ho capito tanto?

    Grazie.

  • guys shut about the hippo already and just listen to the amazing piece of music. I also agree with XxNuneexX about the 50 dislikes: WHY!!!!!????

  • 50 dislikes.? :O How is that even possible? :O

  • i dont understand why theres a hippo

  • @colonelkearns Read the description.

  • Something tells me that hippo has had a tough life...

  • This video has more hits than Ludovico's official video on Vevo

  • Thumbs up if the BBC Arts & Culture advertisement brought you here. Because it didn't me.

  • I'm going through a bit of Einaudi craze. I've got his piano book and I'm learning this piece and Le Onde right now. :') My mum always cries when she hears me playing my piano. Thanks for sharing such beautiful music! <3!!! :'''''''')

  • Day by day is being more hard listen a music that have a strong msg, a powerfull energy.... It's hard (these days) listen a music and feel a emotional barge... and this guy can do this!!! this guy fucking rule!!!

  • that is one emotional hippo...

  • Such is the life of a hungry, hungry hippo.

  • words cannot describe how beautiful this is. so uplifting. makes me forget all the bad in the world.. pretty damn amazing..

  • OMG, i love this <3 its so beautiful :') my teacher played this in my acting class earlier, and ive been searching for it for 1 hour online <3 Thank you so much for this beautiful music xxxxx

  • Wonderful piece, Bravo!

  • how can people not like this? and his other pieces....I just dont get it. No wander there is more non believers in God than ever before. were striving for perfection and want the perfect life and God gives it us in such simple ways. Just by a few keys on a piano.

  • @MrTheeminemchannel You cant be claiming that people not beleiving is why this music isnt in the mainstream.

In my experiance everyone who i have told to listen has enjoyed. The issue is that nobody goes out of there way to find genre.

If anything the destruction of theis genre can be attributed to RnB,Hip Hop and pop.

Im not going to argui but id recommend this video: watch?v=lmTmGLzPVyM&feature=related

Rychard fynman talks about his beleifs and curiosity with Primavera in the back.

  • :'(. Beautiful. Einaudi is a genious. I've alreasy learnt two of his pieces- Stella del Mattino and Le Onde. His work is great!

  • i giorni sono come pachidermi immobili

    sulle sabbie del tempo

    mentre fluisce la vita

    e pare invece

    che per te sia finita!!!

  • Stunningly beautiful piece! :)

  • Cant really understand why there is a ramstien advert on my screen!!!

  • 49 people don't have a hippo by there stream.

  • My best mate introduced me to Einaudi, truly amazing! just like he was,

I love you and I miss you, r.i.p

  • hi chantal :)

  • @ethamazing

    hey ethan!:D

  • Im happy right now.

  • this song is simply amazing there is no way of describing the greatestness of this mans gift on the piano. some people dislike because he is a minimalist, as in all his work sounds alike. but then other people listen to the song and it makes you think back on your life in the past and also inspires you to go amazing things. ludovico einaudi is my hero!

  • thats a nice hippo!

  • How can such emotion be portrayed from the ivory tinkling through his fingers, yet I can already feel the melody playing with each beat from my broken heart?

  • :D Its Hippy my Hippo :D

  • briliant....ljust ove it

  • It's a hairless Polar Bear - 'the effects of global warming'

  • i wish i can play this on piano :(

  • Even hippos need to pause and reflect on their lives now and then. Where they've been, where they are, and where they're going.

You'll be okay, hippo. Everything will work out.

  • @Vergedood hahahahahahahaha

  • @Vergedood lmao

  • The only man who can sit behind a piano and make it sing..

  • Lovely music! I love Einaudi, so much. I also like Anna Naoi Reid and Yruma, but this leaves breathless.

  • it is jus angel voice, even more to like our heavly father, something just perfect

  • This is beautiful.

  • Oh my god, this is beautiful

  • Don't do it, hippo!

  • @falafelstand ima do it , ima jump !

  • I love this piece :) he is so talented :)

  • this + rainy mood = heaven to your ears

  • @abbbbdance09 Agreed, however, RainyMood + anything = heaven to your ears.

  • Comment got cut off!

Basically, this song takes me a million miles away and I adore it. I'm not a classical person, in fact I'm more at home in a crowd if sweaty rockers jumping along to some unknown rock band but this piece of music does something to me.

    Serenity.

  • My boyfriend wrote a beautiful piece of music on guitar that sounds very much like one aspect of this song so when I first heard a snippet of it months ago on a BBC advert, I already felt as though I had an affinity with it but never knew who it was.

Then today as I walked past the bedroom of a man I care for I heard it again. This time I hopped into it room, apologised profusely and 'shazammed' it using my iPhone. Unprofessional but he laughed!

Finally I know who it is. I also stood and lis

  • Thumbs up for the happy hippo!

  • How can someone seriously come to the conclusion that "i want to hate on this song and dislike it" this piece of music inspires me in so many ways, through photography and graphic design, believe me when i say this music helps so much it feeds the creative side of you, He helps you understand it helps you in life even if you dont realize it.

  • Hippo wtf?

  • love this song . seriously, if any pop artists dare sample this, add a clubland beat and autotune over it....

  • It's amazing when just 6 minutes of a mere audio file can make your day more bareable... <3 piano :)

  • Thanks for the hippo.

  • you know it hurts me to know what become of this world.. little kids running with guns, 13 year old mothers, love turned into hate and all we can listen to is lady gaga or justin bieber - dont get me wrong they have their good pieces of music too but this.. this is the story of a man, the love and passion he shared that came from his heart into our souls Bless x

  • cures piles

  • Never has a song with no words managed to say so much.

  • i have never been a fan of piano music but i heard this song and i think it is amazing , everybody i speak to interprets this song in there own way and it has made me listen to piano music closer. thank you

  • No soul to it.

  • @paulmfay il agree theres not much soul to it but it has serious amount of heart in it!

  • @paulmfay il agree theres not much soul to it but it has serious amount of heart in it!

  • @paulmfay trololololololollllololololol

  • if this song doesn't move you in some way you must be cold as steel.

i had a few tears listening to this.

who cares if this music is simple? to me it sounds like a musician that 's very present to his emotions & just lets his fingers translate it.

simple? what the hell does ''simple'' mean anyway? i think simple is good. the less effort you have put into something to reach a certain goal the better. so less notes = better.

  • Why dont you all just be quiet and enjoy the music??

  • @Rolfcopter81 you are joining in by saying that...

  • why the hippo was going to send this but dont want her thinking i think she a bit overweight

  • Nice but his songs are so ridiculously simple, he probably writes them in a day

  • @paulbefc It is harder to write a simple and beautiful song then a complex one, while you have to bring thesame message over with less notes...

  • @henkie666666 believe me it's not hard to write his songs. His songs are based around 4 chords. Beethoven's piano sonatas are the real deal and some of them aren't stupidly complicated.

  • @paulbefc If is is so easy, why can't everyone do it? It may be of simple construction i.e. based on 4 chords. This does not mean it is "easy" to write a beautiful piece of music just because it has a simple construction. I accept that Beethoven's compositions are more complex, but they are a different genre on music.

  • @Pianopod Everyone who is reasonably proficient at piano and has a musical ear can make those tracks. The guy writes the things on an Ipad for god's sake, I saw him demonstrate it in an interview. I am not oblivious to the fact that simple songs are often and sometimes by far and away better than complex ones but when you break it down to four chords it's just too easy. Eiunaudi is the ramones of this type of music. Plus he's majorly going for the money

  • @paulbefc Couldn't agree more.

  • @paulbefc Have you tried composing anything recently? Even anything as "simple" as a song made up of four chords?

If not, how can your statement possibly be lent any credence whatsoever?

  • @goodmorning819 Most certainly have. Music production and composition is one of my dearest hobbies and I hope it could one day be a career. I play piano, guitar and cornet and know my fair share of music, classical and contemporary. I also know that I could have learnt half of eiunaudi's tracks after a few hours of piano lessons.

  • @paulbefc Alright then. I'm afraid I still disagree with you, though, about the simplicity of a four chord piece. I do, however, think it's a different sort of difficulty, more of a "making sure it's not too repetitive" thing. And most people who are relatively competent at some instrument could learn Einaudi on piano relatively easily.

  • @goodmorning819 yes and there's nothing really wrong with this music. I actually think it's okay and I like the ramones despite the simplicity of their music in the same way. I'm not hating on simplistic music. I love hip hop and you could say a good portion of that music's "stolen" through sampling. Half its best producers can't play an instrument beyond a low level. The thing with this is, when it's simple it's glaringly obvious, as it's the only instrument. I fully respect your opinion though

  • @paulbefc When are we going to hear some of your compositions on YouTube? It will be nice to compare them to the "four chord repetitive music" of Ludovico Einaudi. Based on your comments over the last few days, you are obviously a brilliant and talented composer and musician. I am so excited in anticipation of hearing your music!

  • @Pianopod haha your sarcasm is not lost on me! But unfortunately for you it's unlikely that I will post anything up on youtube in the foreseeable future, certainly not on this profile. Read into that what you may, I have nothing to prove, but will tell you this: I am a ghost. The ghost of J.S. Bach granted but a week to return to this earth to sample the fruits of 21st century music. What I have heard has shocked me to my core. Kesha? Bieber? Never has it felt so good to be dead. RIP good music.

  • Somebody know where I can download this song ???

  • @felipco0608 on the internet

  • If there is one thing in this world which will make me cry every time without exception, it's this song.

  • @BassaiDai123 You are not alone. I think most of us have a song that reaches deep down, grabs your emotions and puts them right in your face, telling you these are not to be ignored. You may have seen an earlier comment of mine, stating that I am a newby to this genre of music. I fell in love with this music and sat down 2 days ago and did nothing but listen to it. I didnt cry until I heard "Berlin Song". I cried like a baby. My husband passed away and that song put it right in my face.

  • I stumbled upon the music of Ludovico Einaudi's yesterday and it was the first time I had heard of this gentleman as my listening preference is Rock. And I'm back again today. I found his music to be moving, powerful and it has a calming ability to it. I have now expanded my musical taste. My question, in reading the debates going on in the comments, is why is it so important to label the music, ie.. neo-classical, classical, contemporary piano? Why not call it what it is. Beautiful music.

  • WAKE UP. LISTEN TO THE BEAUTY
