...I think it might be neat if you took the last or next-to-last verse and added a measure of two beats at the end of each of its four phrases, either to linger on the end of the phrase or do a lengthier pickup of the next, or even just to do some fancy melodic (or echoing? or percussive?) guitar thingies. You know, things remain essentially the same but your heart kind of skips a beat. Seems like it might fit.

I didn't love the "oh-woh" verse/bridge. At first I thought it needed a real bridge (like, some new chords) there, but then I realized your chord progression goes with the subject matter: a simple thing is all you need.
