  • epic!

  • Why do their arms chicken wing when they are shooting?

  • song???

  • @TheValentyn2 It's "Dies Irae" (Or "Day of Wrath")

  • @Funiculus thank u :)

  • Woaw NICE video !

  • the shoting scene is bitch

  • none of the counter-terrorist have been killed what an ownage

  • lollooks like syphon filter 1

  • why do the terrorist's blood look like puke?

  • @nonody1 Never liked our blood effects. It was really hard to get it to look realistic; the color was always off; too dark, too shiney, too bright, etc. In the end it was one of the things that we just had to "live with" to make our deadline for release. Some other things were never fixed as well; for example, there are no shell casings ejected from the weapons firing.

  • @Funiculus yeah but your lighting effects were AMAZING and the models look great. I wish I could do stuff like that, but I don't have the skill and the patience to do it...

  • @pabsensi Thanks! The key with the lighting was "less is more". Between a lower light level and a big huge box around the "set" with a fog effect, we reduced the view range and had to build less. It also made the "strobe" effect for the guns more dramatic (the animation of an omni light on/off every x number of times depending on rate of fire). Inside was a little tougher as there were clearly fixed lights we had to make work.

  • @Funiculus well i really enjoyed it. I hope you keep up with that good work. :)

  • tell me about it .youtube.com/watch?v=deT_-V4zuKE

  • dude, terrorists always win damnit!

  • nice but can you a little longer??? like 10 minutes??????

  • @yUsReE96 Yes; but realize there's been quite a few years of technology moving forwards since this was originally made in 2003 on an old Pentium II with a 486 processor. Someday, I'll put up some of the stuff that was done after this.

  • thats why he said next time >.>

  • Hmm looks kinda good but it dosent make sense maybe you would try and make a ew one with a historie like a mission?

  • @mathiascake Who gives to turds if it doesnt make sense? The 3D animating is like WOW!

  • next time. Source :P Awesome animation.

  • Yeah; this was originally animated about 7 years ago; Source didn't exist. ;-)

  • very nice

  • VERY GOOD VIDEO

  • very good o/

    5/5!!

  • where to download CS MODELS in .3ds

    plz upload

  • Our production models were never released as public material; not sure where you'd find someone else's versions. I might be able to find the original files for you if you like.

  • nice one

  • how do model CS? :( help me

  • There are a number of tools for making the 3D models themselves, Rhino, 3D Studio, Maya, etc. These days, you may be able to find some pre-made ones online to work with.

  • LMAO!!!

  • ok thx :D

  • how did u doo the muzzle effect?

  • Muzzle effects were done by placing an invisible code at the end of each gun. The code then had images of gunfire muzzle flashes mapped to it, transparent parts where the flash didn't appear were invisible. Then a light was was added to the end of the code. When animated, we flashed the visibility of the light and the code on and off very rapidly when the gun "fired". The result is what you see in the video.

  • do u know where can i find a tutorial about that :S cuz im a medium on 3DS MAX

  • Unfortunately, no. When we did it (and realize the video is from 2002-2003), we couldn't find a good one either and I went through a lot of tries to make it work. A 4-sided "pyramid" with the texture on the pointed sides works (might have to rotate it some). A photo of gunfire or a video game screenshot can provide the flash graphic. The light is a standard omni (you'll have to adjust for distance and timing). Just get the visibility flashing from 0 to 1 in time with the firing movement.

  • oh... Sorry:$! thank you:D anyway nice video

  • Comment metre les cs models dans 3ds max ?

  • The models were created as wireframe skeletons in 3DS; we used outlines to get the general modeling shapes, then refined them, mapped skins onto them; then made adjustments. It was a decently long process.

  • MOZART.

  • omg how do you move the models like that and the fog effect and the lights effects when shooting

i've seen a couple of movies like this but even now i don't know how they're done

  • This was done with a 3D modeling tool. Models were built with wire frame skeletons, painted texture "skins" were put over buildings, people and objects (they were done in Photoshop). Animation software was used to set up tracks of "events" for the objects and then rendered out to video.

  • epic.

  • But how to download the program?? :O

Did you bought it? or how did you get it?

  • 3D Studio Max? I had a student copy when I was in college, that's when I made this and other videos. I think you can get a copy of something called "Rhino" these days that's the same for free, or buy another 3D rendering program.

  • Okj : ) .. But do you know a program so i can do counter-strike movies like this? It is cs videos like this i want to do.. Do you know how i can do it free and legaly?

  • I give it a 3/5 Although it was pretty good It can be made better...keep up the practice

  • nice :)

  • Nice (I like Dies Irae) 5/5

  • The recoil and the body movements could be better, but it's awesome!

  • they shud make css the movie ^_^_^_^_^_^

  • wow u re-made couter strike but waaaaaayyy better

    nice animation ,textures and effects

  • awesome work, bro!

  • whats the program you use?

  • 3d Studio Max for rendering, Photoshop for textures, Adobe Premiere to piece the clips together.

  • lol some ct's shoulda died :P

  • The helicopters seemed a bit to rigid. I suggest you make them tilt slowly when they hover. Otherwise nice.

  • You know; I wonder if I should post some more of these? I don't have any completed projects, but there's a lot of footage that went into making this and others that never got posted.

  • very nice !

  • =D very nice! I could see quite a bit of animation errors, but the modeling, texturing, and effects were very nice!

  • wow, good clip nice action but why couldn't those other terrorist react, could they hear the gunshots?

  • Comment removed

  • It was based on Counter Strike 1.5; right around when 1.6 was about to be released; though all the animation is done in 3D Studio Max; none of this is game footage. (hence the content that's not in the game like the helos)

  • It is Cs 1.6. You should start geting into CS my friend. You don't know what your missing.

  • Back in late 2002; it was 1.5. I've played every version of CS from 1.2 on. I don't have time to play as much anymore (much of anything for that matter). But yes; I assure you this was done during the "classic" phase of CS. ;-)

  • I want to compete at this game how can i improve?

  • Keep playing and playing.

  • yeh, 3 things to do, 1: play, 2: learn the weps and maps, 3: watch people better than u and see how they play

  • nice vid! but i think the helicopter looks like the ones in blackhawk down

  • imo, hardest level for ct is compound.

  • very nice !

  • thats pretty good dude!! nice effort

  • GooD

  • CT get their asses kicked a lot in this level

  • lol -_-'

  • good job, i liked the animation

  • thats pretty awesome!

  • wow sick

  • it juz look like cs1.6 + CS:S...

    i like it :))

  • awesome job man

  • maan, really nice,i hope its not fake and u really modeled and filmed it from all begin :)

next time pls add more action and no music,or keep the music low :)

  • I LIKE THIS VIDEO 10/10

  • i just dont get y u didnt just use CS:S the game, it prolly would've took u like prolly not even a month to do a vid like that...

  • Partly because the original video was done before Source was out in 2003; which would have made using it for the video a tad problematic.

  • Did you have to rework the bones of the models? Because I just imported a few models into 3dsmax, and I can't move the bones/joints around like a biped.

  • There was a standard biped IK skeleton that was used inside the wire mesh frames we created for the soldiers. That skeleton was then "linked" to the mesh at key points; that's what allows the skeleton's movements to move the whole mesh in the animation.

  • How do you link them?

  • I can't recall the name of it; there's a tool in the tool bar that's eitehr called "link" or "connect" that allows you to select an object or vertex and then select a second to link the two in this way. Whatever movements are applied to one are immediately visible on the other; lift the leg, the knee bends; computer handles the pant leg fabric looking like it bent; etc.

  • Ah I see. I imported the guerrilla model to Milkshape so I could convert it to a max file, and the skeleton disappeared when I imported it to max.

  • Because you cant get helicopters and effects like that and it doesnt help with getting animation skills up.

  • bof

  • what's song do u use?? I love the music!!

  • hah why counter-terrorist win??

  • nice

  • love it

  • very, very nice and if i may request... aztec is my fav map... perhaps you could make another vid with that terain. ;)

  • All other things is excelent but blood doesen't look like very real...

  • A fair point. Liquids are *really* hard to do justice to, and the blood splatters on the roof went through several versions. I've never been happy with them; too bright. Good eye to spot it though. :)

  • belive it or not 3d animation is easier to make than 2d cause in 3d all u do is set the beginning movement and the end and it plans the rest out but it does take a while to compile the character features but yea thats kinda fun in 2d u gotta move an inch click move an inch click it kinda gets boring but it pays off cause u make somethin awesome

  • In the case of this production; the animation took about a month; the model building took several months. Testing for effects like the gunfire and lighting took weeks. Computers help, but it's still a lengthy process.

  • Ya, that's bull shit. I do both and I have to say that 3d is much more difficult. The models, the scenes, the lighting, etc is much more difficult to perfect.

2d is simpler, even though it takes a while to ccomplete. Some 3d programs also don't offer tweening.

  • thats is probably one of the best cs movies ive seen you should make some more my good man

  • Very good video 5

  • that is nice!

  • lol

  • that was really good the anamation was awsome and the gun kick was perfect 5/5

  • its great but i preffer navy SEALS, and dont worry, its awesome the video ^_^

  • very cool, men, thats great 5 points 4 u

  • sweet ! 5/5

  • Nice Cool :D 5

  • poor terrorists they didnt do anything to the ct why then assulted them?! :(

  • wow impressiV

  • Awesome!

  • LOL!

  • nice 5 *****

  • cool

  • that was preety tight

  • wow nice job man!

  • AWESOME!!

  • how did u do this

  • 3D Studio Max; a 3D modeling and animation program; and a lot of time. Wireframes were built for a number of "sets"; models of the soldiers and the aircraft were made. Once models were made; we worked on texture maps for the buildings and people as well as the aircraft. Additionally; there was a lot of CounterStrike played so we could get little details about the map down (the crate colors for example). Once that was done, we used storyboards to plan out animation and shots.

  • cool! :D:D

  • reerwr

  • cool :)

  • Dude Awesome 5 stars This Pretty Fuckin Cool You Rock

  • opra?

  • OMG awesome video you have a real talent here

  • Very nice video.. I would like to know how to do that videos.. =(

  • ohok..i see! well good job!

  • are you serious,,, how?? thats like so hard! umm w/e i still say nice vidd!

  • This was done with 3D Studio Max; I believe version R4. For the animation and wire frames. Textures were done in Photoshop 5.5. There's actually a number of programs out there that can work with .3ds types of wire mesh files. Some game manufacturers even post the files to their websites in an effort to encourage mod makers.

  • cool vid but you dint do that!

  • Actually; yes, I did; but thanks anyway.

  • Dude nice vid, which modeler did you use and which cs do you play?

  • This was done in 3D Studio Max R4 I believe; everything modeled form the ground up (we got as close to the CS models as we could). Played CS 1.5; CS Source these days. :-)

  • holy shit. nice man

  • very cool

  • nice vid

  • rad! Where did you get the blackhawks from?

  • thanks! The blackhawks as well as everything else are wire frame models created in 3D Studio Max with texture maps created in photoshop. The Blackhawks in this video were done by Steve Biggs; engineer for Lockheed Martin and a damned fine 3D Artist. =)

  • this... is.... cool....
