how can anyone dislike my home town? dey don't know wa de 'a miss mon.  i miss eating some home cooked provisions, roti, curry chicken, dumpling, salt fish with green/red peppers, onions and provisions again for Good Friday because that was the anniversary for the Crucifixion of Jesus.

No it doesn't have a lot of snakes. We do have multiple Mcdonalds and the dollar is the same, just prices may be more expensive because it is an island and a tourist hot spot.

@SureShotSav Trust me you will love it.... Prettiest Beaches ever I suggest you also go over to St. Johns and see Trunk and Cinnamon Bay you can catch a ferry from St. Thomas to there ..... I have been twice now and I plan on going again.... Sometimes the weather can be hot and steamy and some days its just as clear as you can see and breezy But I def suggest this place for a VACA....

I have always been told Peurto Rico isn't a state because they don't want to be. I think they have the option to become one, and they vote it down and choose to stay a territory. Why become a state and pay more taxes, when they can be a territory like they are and get all the same benefits as a state, but don't pay taxes for it? Now, I could be wrong. That is just what I was always told, years ago.

The only way it's cheap is tenting on st johns. The beaches are all free on st. johns. Food prices are high, If you like hotdogs you'll be allright. Overall it's a lot cheaper then hawaii, and it's a blast.

Check Travelocity for general rates. It depends on where you stay. $2300 air and hotel for 2 in May at decent place. That's leaving direct from the midwest.

Its a beautiful place. Been to St.Thomas and St. John.
