I was so happy when I got to this level, it was basically the only good thing about SMG2. :p I wonder what it would be like if the made a SM64 version for the Wii, like a whole remake where you can use the remote for certain moves and stuff. I think it would be cool, but it would most likely ruin an awesome game.

Zelda I and the first two Marios are frustrating as balls and they're good games.

Frustration in a videogame is good, because it shows you you have to increase your skill in order to beat it, instead of just being able to waltz through it with no struggle.

Me and my friends were taking turns playing the levels in this game. We made it to the level called "throwback galaxy"

I thought, "hm, wonder what this is..."

When I entered the level and saw it and heard this, I ran around my bedroom screaming like a little girl.

My friends were just like "wtf is he doing?"

I then was sent to the hospital because I passed out from a very common illness known as "Nostaliaitis" :D

Thanks for this, Nintendo, keep up the great work, for many more years to come :D

I thought that Super Mario Galaxy 2 was really cheaply made. I still do. The story line is lame, and it was made way too quickly. I'm still mad about it, but I don't regret getting this game. Why?

This stage right here. Dammit, I was so happy, I pointless ran around the fortress for like an hour before doing anything mission related. And I didn't even grow up with a N64! I was 14 before I played it on the N64 for the first time! That's how awesome it is.

@luvkirby4ever if you think about it, the game wasn't "quickly made". I mean all they had to do was program a few more things in over Galaxy 1's engine, make new levels and power ups and that is really all they added

Exactly. Yeah, I know that its Super Mario Galaxy "2", but it feels like to game designers are just recycling Super Mario Galaxy material.  I know Yoshi is great to work with and all, but there's nothing that really makes this game memorable. Galaxy 2 is fun enough, but its not really special.

I would rather have waited a couple of years for Nintendo to put their time into something new instead of reusing material. Galaxy was beautiful enough on its own.

XBox 360: Made by Microsoft, which makes computer hardware/software.

Playstation 3: Made by Sony, which makes televisions and video electronics.

Wii: Made by Nintendo, which makes games.

Nintendo is the only company which completely dedicates itself to making games and has also been in the gaming business the longest. Sure, their hardware isn't as pretty as the others, but their games were all about having fun above anything else.

Oh man last year when I played the whole game from start to finish in coop this game got me so excited but when this stage came out of nowhere I was like this

"WOAH! no way man this can't be, oh my fucking god its the Thomp Fortress from Mario 64 YES YES YES YES YES!" me and my bruddah XD was so happy nintendo put this stage in.

@zappsouliz i'll agree to that, the Throwback Galaxy, or Whomps Throwback Galaxy is what i call it for some odd reason... a kick ass remix of the best music from mario, ORIGINAL dialog from Boss, and Classic feel... made it worth playing through the game for me... simply i do not like SMG2 a whole lot, but this 1 Level made it all worth it =D

They should've had a second stage for the Throwback Galaxy based on the Bob-Omb Battlefield, the first level in Super Mario 64. And the King Bob-Omb would throw bombs and bob-ombs at you, and you had to throw three bob-ombs back at him to win. Though there would be more strategy involved, but you get the idea.
