  • wich pencil are u using man?

  • good stuff :))

  • lmao..

  • i think you did an amazing job, but the left hand looks a little off to me. i feel like if you put his hand in the pose it should be directly in front of his body.

  • OMG man! you're really, really good!

    5 stars!

someone can tell me the name of that song??

  • this is very difficult for me follow, especially using left hand part..

  • good job man

  • whatever, is my take on it i have learned to draw from comics >) your on the ball with that, learning from comics by process of elimination if the drawing looked wrong to me i took an image from my head captured from a comic and drew it till it looked like the comic and have developed some what of a steel trap over the yearts because of this exercise, im 23 had no real comic drawing lessons only in figure drawing and other various classess and for my age im really confident in my skill lvl

  • in my opinion shading makes the drawing look good.

  • i was going to ask you; whenever i draw cap, i always mess up his face. (around the eyes and nose where his mask seperates to let you see his mouth.) any tips?

  • Just draw a face, do the shading, then add his costume lines, then add the costume shading his face.

  • thankz XD

  • Don't listen to this guy Bass. He's just mad because he wishes he was as good as u.

  • Tu shay, Thanks

  • Your reliance on comic books for learning, while helpful, is very limiting. When learning from comics one is duplicating the artists mistakes or where the artist has taken liberties with reality. It's best to get teh real thing, which can be found in any magazine or on the internet, draw it, and then compare them to your favourite artists take on everything they do. Same goes for everything in art. Use reference. I see your anatomy is wrong, from looking at areas like his abs and back muscles.

  • It's fantasy, it's fun. If you don't take any liberties you won't stand out. Everyone has their own style. Like any lesson take what you can from it and apply it to your own process

  • Taking liberties I understand, but from looking at the final image, I can see that there is a lack of knowledge about anatomy, such as his abs not twisting, or compressing, even tho he is leaning forward. Also, the back muscle, or latissimus dorsi does not connect to the deltoid in that way. The eyes are lookin in two directions, which is not possible.

Pick up a Bridgeman or Hogarthe book and you will see what I mean. Don't sell yourself short, get a good figure book and learn from that.

  • You know probably 90% of all comic books have stylized anatomy? Everyone is stylized who gets paid. They say in anatomy, sometimes the wrong line looks better. We are all torn between style and perfection. The guy with style will get jobs over the perfectionist. It's about inspiring work. Have you seen someone looking at a clinched fist in front of their face? Or the doctor says look at the tip of this pencil? Look again and you will see that one eye is turned in closer. Lemme see ur drawings

  • dude ive penciled for books before and knowing ur anatomy means shit its how the drawing g looks that matter, some comic book artists out there draw more muscles that are actually on the body. constructinve critisism is maybe tht he is a bit too bulky but again thts a matter of taste, ive never been taught i just guessed what shit would look, its how things interact with each other and if they are exciting to look at that matters. look at rob liefeld...???

  • Dude, I know my anatomy, I took 12 years private art classes with a Marvel comic book artist. I do my abs like that on purpose but I will see about that muscle in the back you are talking about. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

  • comic book art relies heavily on a taking liberties with reality.

In comic art we look what looks good and suits the character, not always what is realistic.

  • Dude ur awesome!!!

  • Thanks man!

  • The head is kind of small BUT i should not talk coz wane i draw i all ways make them to big lol. nice drawing. im a artist myself.

  • Yah if you make the head smaller they look more deesl.

  • can you please draw cable and deadpool

  • it looks like a loony toon..no offence

  • i wanna learn how to draw but i have absolutely no idea wher to start... i want to learn to draw like comic book artists draw, is ther no place or website i can visit wher they give step by step, or beginner lessons or something... bassart, what would you recommend? How should i start?

  • Start by looking at pictures you like and draw them. I found a local comic book artist and got private art classes for an hour a day once a week for 12 years. We basicly went over the book "How to draw comics the marvel way" Get that book if you can't find an artist to take classes with. If you are near MArlboro NY we can do classes for $12 an hour

  • do u look at a picture when u draw??

  • I usually have some reference for the costume and some good ones just for inspuration

  • this is really good how long did it take you to be able to draw him like this?

  • They all take a couple hours

  • what kind of paper is that its that a bristol board or press illistrator board or somthing?

  • yah bristol board and an hb pencil

  • this is a really cool picture I wonder if you could please post a video of you sketching Usain Bolt.

  • He's mad!

  • He looks scary, but awesome.

  • i have some comics of this guy i think he's awesome.

i only had some trouble on the head

  • I mean if you press down to hard with the puncil you cill leave a mark even if you manage to erase it. Then it makes it hard to draw over and shade the mark in the paper. Yah man keep drawing! Thanks.
