  • Can you still buy these???

  • 40.000th

  • I would have loved the back Plain with no cut outs....

  • When will you have one for 17'?

  • why would anyone want to cover up their Mac laptop? one of the selling points is the design, how sleek and pro they look, how about you just look after it and you won't have to worry about scratches and dropping it? and if you can't look after if fuck off over to PC world XD POW!

  • @hobobastard I was about to say the same thing! Or, if you want an ugly plastic 'puter, why not just buy an ugly plastic PC?

  • ugly, really ugly

  • It would have looked better with a closed shell!

  • Looks awesome!

  • i would really wanna buy it but its too expensive i think, ill just stay with my 15 bucks leave :3

  • @italy1999 it's okay I agree with you

  • this case is ugly....sorry

  • nice case and all but i find it with those type of cases that over time dirt grains get in between the case and body of the phone or pc and it scratches the surface. i've had that happen many times.

  • So this is just leather with the name "carbon fiber" tacked on?

That and the retarded window on the back seal this little thing's fate.

  • You cut do an outline on the Apple logo, Apple will come after you. The oval shape is to show off the you Mac but keep it protected.

  • Why do they have that retarded clear circle on the back cover? It looks so stupid. That completely ruined the whole thing. They couldn't spend just the little bit more money per case to outline the apple

  • Before you call anyone "retarded," - they'd need trademark rights clearance to replicate the Apple logo in any way, even to stamp or die-cut the pattern.

  • @TheCosmicfire so spend money and talk to apple to do that

  • @whatsagoodusername23 Licensing agreements don't work that way nor make exceptions for one product either. Plus it's not worth it. If you were Nike and you pay Kobe Bryant million$ to wear your shoes & clothing, would you like it if Adidas said, "Kobe, we know you're with Nike, but can you please wear this one shoe for us?" He can't violate his agreement with Nike like that. In this case, Apple already has other licensed accessory makers. CarbonFiberGear could sell the product to them though.

  • @buttnut1080 or hell, even worse case scenario, cover it... the whole black, silver white looks stupid, but yah, i agree, outline it

  • This case is garbage, it obscures the kensington lock slot, the sleep indicator, part of the heat vent when the lid is open and the magnetic latch is incapable of keeping the lid closed if you are to put it in a bag, as people tend to do with a laptop.

  • @nailerr I would like to make an amendment for correctness: the shop I bought mine from had it labeled as Macbook Pro 13" where as I notice the fake macbook cardboard insert in the package is a Macbook 13 inch, the previous model. Perhaps this makes the difference.

That aside, there is not a shred of carbon fiber in this case, I found an uncovered seam and the inside is plain white thin plastic.

  • I have one on my MacBook it definitely keep it looking new. Love the case

  • why would you want to put that ugly thing over a beautiful metal casing of the macbook pro unibody, that thing make it look so ugly and it probably put light scratch when you take off the case.

  • the carbon fiber is heat resistant

  • I love it, looks awesome, but you guys didn't say what's the benefits of having a Carbon Fiber case for my MacBook :/ ?

Don't get me wrong, I'm on my way to buy it,,,but I'm just sayin'

  • Looks and protection :) Keep in mind this is not actually carbon fiber, but "carbon fiber leather"

  • @CarbonFiberGear I know it's 6 months later, but just a heads up. On another guy's blog review for this skin, some guy claiming to work for these guys admitted it's not CF and that it would be too expensive to make skins out of the stuff. He even left his business e-mail in case people might have questions.

  • @zeth006 Thanks, we've stated many times that's not real CF. It's a material called carbon fiber leather or some call it carbon fiber fabric. We just released a real carbon fiber case though. Check our site.

  • @CarbonFiberGear Cool. Have you guys solved the issue with the case blocking out the kensington lock hole, one of the vents, and making it difficult for the magnetic latch to close the Macbook Pro?

  • @zeth006 No, this would be up to the manufacturer XGear, who hasn't updated their product to fix the security slot issue. They are aware of both concerns, and we'll do what we can.

  • @CarbonFiberGear Also I'd be interesting in learning about the real CF case. =) Didn't see it on the website...

  • @zeth006 I can't link on here, but take a look at our latest video. Or head to our site, click store on the top left, then hover over products, go to technology, and then laptops. You should see it there :)

  • Does that case fit the white 13" macbook as well as the pro??

    thanx

  • It unfortunately does not.

  • thanks!

  • That looks like a very nice case, too bad I don't have a mac book :(

  • i just want to make sure as dumb as a question this may sound but when the cases is on do you have access to the cd drive cause i couldnt make it out in the video if it did even though im 99.99 % sure it does

  • The entire side is open. If you have the unibody macbook it fits. If you have the newest macbook, the only thing that gets covered is the security lock. Feel free to direct message me if you have any more questions.

  • I just got mine today and i love it. It offers great protection and a great feel!

  • Glad everything came ok and that you like it!

  • I like it, but it would be even nicer if the acrylic would be shaped exactly like the apple.. you know? nice nonetheless

  • Unfortunately I think that would bring up the cost of the product too much to do something like that.

  • I have seen holes on the bottom of incase products for macbook unibody 13. Why does not your product have any to allow ventilation at bottom of computer. Maybe in the future. Very much considering this product. Almost 100 us with shipping. Not including conversion to Canadian. Any suggestions??

  • well the fan/vents aren't on the bottom of the macbook pro, holes wouldn't help.

  • Epicwonder is correct below, I believe the ventilation happens through the keyboard area where the keys are.

  • will you be reviewing the nike mercurial vapor superfly boots when they are released??

  • Most likely not, but we have written about the Mercurial Vapor SL's (the all carbon fiber ones)
