This is a very cool recipe! I think the probiotic really makes it work. I added some garlic and some fresh basil..and it came out so scrummy..but...the outer edges ended up looking very grey and dirty, I think that was because of the fresh basil, I would suggest trying dried herbs..which I will try this weekend. Thanx Dan! :-)
i germinated my almonds and i must have done it all wrong because after i rinsed it and let it dry i put it in a container and they all grew mold within 8 hours? what did i do wrong lol???

Wow....viewing the comments were a bit disheartening. THANK YOU Dan for sharing your knowledge. I have adapted a healthier diet and I am trying to stay away from cheese, (they have casomorphines that addict us) but then you probably knew that! Thank you again for sharing your knowledge, you're spot on! :~) PEACE!
Hi I JUST ADORE your videos, they r my source of inspiration, because here in France raw food is still not developed and it's very hard for me to find some products or books. Can I make this cheese just with the seeds without the powder that u have added? Thank you !
any hardware store will have 5 gal. and 1 gal. paint strainer bags, for those wondering where to get a bag like that without using the internet or finding a store that has one specifically advertised as a juice bag.
i love the idea of nut and seed cheese. Awesome! thanks for sharing!!!!
I'm a big protein eater and am trying to slowly change my eating habits and am trying to find alternatives for the things that i like. so this is super helpful
I am surprised how you got brainwashed in the protein thing too, Dan. Most nuts/seeds run in the teens for protein, as well as carbohydrates. That leaves 70-80% fat, Dan.
When you let it rot/putrify/"culturize" it, fermented carbs form alcohol, acetic acid, lactic acid, methane, and co2. Rotting protein produces ptomaines, indoles, leukomaines, skatoles, mercaptans, ammonia, methane, hydrogen sulfide and other toxins. Fats become rancid as they oxidize.
@723465 I just can't see you with that little packaged container man.. You should realize that people look up to you. I did once too. You should also realize that not many will buy your bag of "raw almonds" for $80 or whatever you're selling it for. I can buy a week's amount of fresh delicious fruit by the case for that money. And don't get me started on sugar/protein/fat burners. Every cell in the body uses simple sugars for fuel.
Dan, listen man, you're a great guy. I mean it. C'mon bro.
You realize every cell in the body runs on fat or ketones as well??
Fermentation isn't rotting, its a controlled process. even if fermented food contained all the substances you say it does, which is very debatable, how do we know those are bad?
Keep on letting your dogma blind you and we'll see where you end up.
i just baught a pumpkin took out the seeds but, how do you take out the white stuff around it, and can i just soak them up right after the white stuffs is out??
i made this, or rather tried to and it turned out like a chocolate moose. It was 'fluffy' and the top oxidized like hell - is that the way it is? I didn't use the same enzymes as they didn't ship internationally. Omega-life Omega-zyme... is supposed to be proteolytic and all that :S
It was edible, even if a little unpalatable. I added turmeric and paprika to spice it up :)
LOL! You are not a bad person... just funny & real! Nut sack jokes are great Dan! Celebrate the comedy of life. It's just as important as raw food. ;)
Great video Dan, thank you so much. Now, since you're are outside and that winter is coming, I am wondering, are you able to juice and do all those things during winter in the Rv.... can you talk about this in a futur vid. Since I live in Canada, winter are truly harsh and I can imagine being living in an RV... that question probably shows that i dont have much knowledge LOL but I dont care, I hope you are going to explain what you do in winter time. Much love your way oxox
dan very informative video awesome that you stepped up to the yogurts and soaked nuts but i love the juice vids way better too because of all the excitement and spunk you put it to it that makes me wanna keep on moving thanks dan your awesome!!
I've been wanting to try making nut cheese then tuned in and very happy to learn this tonight. Dan, thank you so much for all the great info you share with us I have learned so much from you. Krista, thank you for all the work you do to brings us these videos. You have both been a God send to me!! Thank you!
Uhh Dan, I loved your vid up until the point where you condemned the nut for the overweight individual. Dietary fat has nothing to do with weight, if anything less fruit would be way better. Insulin regulates fat accumulation so eat low glycemic, foods like this are PERFECT for EVERYBODY. It's the low-fat diet that got everybody fat in the first place.
why specifically NCP products? what sets their products apart from all the rest? I'm just curious because with so many products out there it's hard to know.
@beanfeast57 It's my understanding than any probiotic will work and, to be honest, I've only tried one other probiotic (HMF) to make yogurt but the batches I've made with the NCP product do taste alot better.
QUESTION . hello all! does anyone have any opinions on chestnuts? They sell them with the husk in asian markets should i assume these are raw? also are they ok to eat raw? if i soak them to germinate should i soak them with the husk on? they are my favorite nut because they have much less fat so i dont feel stuffed after eating them. Peace thanks for recipe dan.
Awesome man, you've changed my mind on the vegan thing, I'm going to try this approach forsure. At first I was skeptical myself, but its making sense to me now. Thanks a lot for this video I really appreciate it.
People could try rejuvelac instead of the probiotics. It will work very similar and you can make it yourself very cheap. Ann Wigmore did this, google it if you're interested in cultivating food.
@LostInThought11 hhaha that`s a common problem at the start because it makes your organization to clean itself. Once you get used to you will not have such problems :)
@alfredofloyd Not only do the probiotics help digest the meal, but they also prevent bad bacteria from taking hold of the food. If you just leave that seed cheese to ferment without the probiotics, there's a good chance that harmful airborn microbes will get to it first and multiply. You don't want that in your body. Adding the probiotics give the good bacteria a head start so if any of the bad ones show up, they are outnumbered and easily defeated. It's risky not adding a culture starter.
raw food also requires certain hygiene standards..like tying up your hair for it not to become part of the dressing..just joking, nice recipe, I've had two bags of both ingredients for god knows how long and this has been most useful, will try.
THE LID that you put on the jar to culturize the seed-probiotic blend ::: is that an "aerated" lid (w/ holes in it) --- or is it completely "sealed" ?
Thanks for the new recipe Dan. I have been loving the shit out of the Gorilla Milk!! Was wondering if you could tell me which Enzyme Product Lou uses as your link shows several? Mahalo~
I hear tons of ppl tht think I'm insane for turning Vegan and consuming 80% raw but when I see the health risk ppl are taking by the types of foods they eat......tht just seems insane to me.
Anyone that isnt feeling their best needs to change the habits tht drains them of the super life they could be living. I'm not some health guru-gym rat, just an obese female that got tired of the emotional prision I ate my way into. If I can do this then so can anyone else if you start to give a damn.
at around the 4 minute mark Dan you can see a smudge on your camera lens. your facial features get all warped and crazy looking..lol... thought you might want to know. you look like you are doing really well on the cultured food. I love Kim Chi and today I made a nice jar of sauerkraut. I love almond cheese too...wow...amazing. peace, love and light
Thumbs up if anyone wants to see Dan do a lecture and food course in Canada. I'm in Niagara Falls but would travel to meet in person and learn from the best!
Does anyone know if this recipe would still work without the probiotics? I'm new to eating raw living foods and don't know a lot about,Making nut cheese, nut milk and using sprouts.. Keep up all your great work Dan.Thank you for all of your teachings much appreciated...
@OpenYourTruth yes you can make rejuvelac which has natural cultures in it and will help you digest the nuts and seeds. Google rejuvelac it's easy to make with rye, wheat or any grain. I prefer sticking to natural stuff if I can, instead of buying expensive pills.
@markangeloc I thank you for your reply,This is what I needed to help me get started.I also like to stay with natural stuff too..I'm still learning about all this great eating life style, after 31 years of eating cooked foods.
@OpenYourTruth I recently became a raw vegan, I was a vegetarian for many years but wanted to go further and improve my health. At the moment I am fasting, I am doing the master cleanse to rid myself of the damage done by cooked foods. Good luck on your journey, there is lots to learn, I am still learning myself, but it is a great lifestyle and adventure.
@markangeloc I appreciate your take on things and would also like to keep things as simple as possible but, as a person who is gluten intolerent, I've found this particular probiotic not aggravating and quite tasty.
@1964parakeet I believe the true label Raw Vegan means to keep things raw and real from it's natural source, if one has to resort to pills and powders then in my eyes thats not raw. It appears that this movement has become one big informercial, someone always trying to sell you a product. I respect everyones needs, but I was answering openyourtruths question about needing the probiotic to make the recipe and the answer is no, you can make your own naturally.
@1964parakeet "a lot" is two words, such as a "lot of land" or otherwise trying to compare the size of an actual lot of land to whatever is being compared/descirbed. JUST SAYING-NOT MEANT TO BE OFFENSIVE ; ) (p.s. "burdock root")
Have a good day! (or not...do whatever you want with your life!) =)
2 things here to mention guys use spring water from the mother earth and use glass bottles instead of plasticc bottles to avoid excess of phyto estrogens which are very bad for the reproductive organs, increase body fat and increase the female population changing the baby's gender in the mothers belly.
This is a very cool recipe! I think the probiotic really makes it work.
