Didnt they switch insstruments on this song? not sure the exacts.Joe played bass?? Brad/Tom on guitar.Cant remember.Anybody no the answer to this, help me out.
@DARRINCONNOR1 as far as I can remember it was " back in the saddle" they swopped instruments , Joe plays bass. When they do it live Joe plays a baritone guitar which is in between a normal guitar and a bass
@mgyates1 Yeah that sounds about rite.Cool thanx.Great fukin song.Great fukin album. For some reason would love to hear Alice In Chains cover this (Layne era of course) not a big fan of "grunge" but love AIC.Great vocal harmonies in this song, and AIC are the masters of vocal harmonies. Not to sure if to many people would agree with me on this.
This is their best collection. I remember my friend had a quadrophonic, blacklight, strobe and some smoke the first time I heard it. It is etched into my brain.
Toys in the Attic, Rocks, Draw the Line, Permanent Vacation, Just Push Play tours - some of them more than once....Just Push Play in Las Vegas, then Dallas with The Cult for opener.
California Jam II, The Forum, McNichols Arena, MGM Grand, Selland Arena with Rick Deringer opening, Selland Arena with ACDC opening, Smirnoff Center, American Airlines center.
In the early days Joey Kramer would do a killer drum solo in the middle of Train Kept a Rollin.
I was 15 and living outside Boston when Aerosmith released Rocks. Aerosmith was the best band of the times. This was their climax and the LP was rocked a million times at my house and at partys. What a great time!
@leadguitarist999 Actually, I am 47. Why should it bug you why someone's opinion is different from yours and he smokes pot? You both can agree that Aersomith is an awesome band. That's all you need. That's why this world is so fucked up, people bickering over people's differences. I love you.
Tom Hamilton laid down the funky guitar riff for this one. I've seen these guys all over the US - at least 10 times. First time was my first concert on the Toys in the
My favorite song on the "Rocks" album. I know what its like to be sick as a dog. I'm glad Aerosmith got there shit together and made what I think was the best come back ever. Aerosmith, try to get along with each other so we can continue to come and see you. Nobody rocks like you boys!!!!!
great upbeat song but then the epic guitar solo that comes out of nowher seems kind of out of place. it wouldve been better in home tonight eh?its a shame
Aerosmith was everywhere in New England when I was growing up. No rock band ever did it quite like Aerosmith did. Aerosmith is by far the greatest American rock band to ever step foot on a stage. No American band before or since has even come close !

@vinfire022 One of the best guitar players I ever played with recommended this by saying "I think you need to listen to Rocks because it does!" Ha ha. Prolly quoting them. Either way, ROCKS rocks.
@whitepiggy98 I've always thought the same thing. Things got really bubblegum and popish once they got clean. its for sure not the same! '70s aerosmith forever :)
Whoa is me...I feel like crying because not only was the last great album by Aerosmith (Draw the Line fans might not agree) but they were in the midst of a drug-mental-breakdown.
still more great music from the boys from beantown...............great album and many a wasted night..........take me back please......2:40 on better have ya a fatty on.
One of Aerosmith's best songs. Also very under rated. This whole album is great. Their best. Then it's Get your Wings. I wish they could write like this now. This recording however sounds a little funny.
@TheAerochick13 yup saw them at Ball state University in Indiana ( A day after they finished a prom on the east coast and a week after Toys was released) Joe Cocker too wasted to play/ Savoy Brown was good and they backed up Blue Oyster Cult - but they (Aerosmith),,,, I don't know - seen em six times after that and besides ZZTOP ( the last name in rock n roll) they uh ..best band in America. it's rock and roll, not rocket science
@chrisjtt509 Eh Vah Halen, the guy who changed the way the electric guitar is played and his band. You may have heard of them. If not a new album will be out by summer. Enjoy watching sell out Tyler on American Idol.
@Glasbrow i know who van halen are really, it was supposed to sound sarcastic but obviously i suck at that aha, still van halen are pretty small compared to aerosmith. i don't like van halen much.
@chrisjtt509 Van Halen small? They have sold over a 100 million albums worldwide. Go to your local Guitar Center or Sam Ashe. See that big EVH symbol on all the guitars, amps, effects, strings, straps, etc, etc. ???
Along with Hendrix, Eddie is the biggest icon in the history of rock guitar. There`s a whole industry that proves it. And again while Tyler is on Idol, Edward is making a new album which you will hear soon.
@Glasbrow no he's not, icons : hendrix, cobain, slash, angus young. van halen are relatively unheard of for how long they've been around and how many albums they've put out. all their songs sound similar. i havent seen many van halen logos around at all... he plays the guitar very well, maybe he did change the way it was played, but their song writing skills are looooowwww and if it wasn't for the crazy guitar solos, there would be no reason to listen to them.
@Glasbrow sorry that was Hendrix, Keith, and Robert johnson- oh BB King, Bo Diddley, Huddy Ledbetter, Chuck Berry, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Elmore James, the instrument is the same - they're just part of changing music - whether its electric or not it's what you have, it's what inside you ( oh and BTW? I saw Van Halen perform a week after they came out with their first album - he's a great guitarist - Schaumburg IL 1978
@Glasbrow I love all those players. Keith is my boy. But my point was Eddie Van Halen literally changed the way the electric guitar was played with his techniques and sound that was never heard before 1978. Eddie says his biggest influence is Eric Clapton. Does he sound anything like Eric or anyone else previous? Totally innovative and totally original, genius. Perfect example, listen to Rocks above, then Van Halen One. Difference in guitar style, technique and sound? Another world.
you know the bad part is i grew up with them smoke my 1st jont with them 40 years later still smokeing and still rocken with them always be apart of me rock on steve, joe brad tom joey
It's profound to hear a rock band ask for help. Can't you hear desperation in Tyler's voice and Perry's background vocals? They were sick with the stigma and drugs. A shame that drugs defeated them because, IMHO, "Rocks" was their last GREAT album.
ONe of the most kick ass rocks songs ever. They never, never play this on any radio station. go figure, only commercial crap over and over. Hey Lady Gag Gag, does this rock to you? Honestly.
The entire album is consistently bad to the bone! This track has the jam sus2 harmony vox & one of the great outros. Production-wise: ProTools can't hang, folks. This mutha lives up to its title. "Take a bite, Say Goodnight"
I had a great stereo at 16 (1976) and got so high listening to this album. As the name implies, it "Rocks". One of the best albums to come out in '76. Everyone had it. Getting high was fun back then! I had a harmon kardon tube amp that was loud (much louder than today's integrated amps). And listening to Aerosmith would blast the house then (without distorting), you could listen to music Extremely Loud back then. 'Nobody's Fault' was a true test. Led Zeppelin was also my other favorite group.
@1AeroForce1 I'm a few years older then you and I'v spent every dime of my money on Aerosmith Cd's Poster and concert tickets coming up here pretty soon.. Aerosmith Kicks some Serious Butt and will continue to kick it till they cant anymore which thats gonna be never.. I do have a question do your freinds call you old and say why do you listen to old crapy music? I love it when they do cause I can say Music never gets old its like cheese gets better by age.. lol :)
aah yeah, great album, great songs!!! was the first I had of ´em and there was some kind of what you might call respect or so. me the small bass player in a two horse town. yeah I´ve grown now we´ve got three horses but everything else´s still the same.

@freebird1969 Did you know that this entire album was recorded live in the studio and the whole thing was recorded in a 24 hour period.
You really notice it on some of the songs where Steven's voice is hoarse.
I bought this when it first came out...what an incredible LP for it's day. It still is!

It's profound to hear a rock band ask for help. Can't you hear desperation in Tyler's voice and Perry's background vocals? They were sick with the stigma and drugs. A shame that drugs defeated them because, IMHO, "Rocks" was their last GREAT album.

The entire album is consistently bad to the bone! This track has the jam sus2 harmony vox & one of the great outros. Production-wise: ProTools can't hang, folks. This mutha lives up to its title. "Take a bite, Say Goodnight"

When this album came out I was 9 years old and an instant fan FOREVER!!! I listened to this album until the needle on my turntable broke! :)
