  • @DARRINCONNOR1 as far as I can remember it was " back in the saddle" they swopped instruments , Joe plays bass. When they do it live Joe plays a baritone guitar which is in between a normal guitar and a bass

  • @mgyates1 Yeah that sounds about rite.Cool thanx.Great fukin song.Great fukin album. For some reason would love to hear Alice In Chains cover this (Layne era of course) not a big fan of "grunge" but love AIC.Great vocal harmonies in this song, and AIC are the masters of vocal harmonies. Not to sure if to many people would agree with me on this.

  • @DARRINCONNOR1 Definately agree man.

  • @DARRINCONNOR1 I heard Tom Hamilton played the solo.

  • @rjjrdq Yeap thats correct.Thanx

  • This is their best collection. I remember my friend had a quadrophonic, blacklight, strobe and some smoke the first time I heard it. It is etched into my brain.

  • @clubmidnightsun You forgot to mention the tall red plastic bong with the huge shotgun??????????????

  • Are you kidding me? I was expecting a few million views with this song!

  • Toys in the Attic, Rocks, Draw the Line, Permanent Vacation, Just Push Play tours - some of them more than once....Just Push Play in Las Vegas, then Dallas with The Cult for opener.

California Jam II, The Forum, McNichols Arena, MGM Grand, Selland Arena with Rick Deringer opening, Selland Arena with ACDC opening, Smirnoff Center, American Airlines center.

In the early days Joey Kramer would do a killer drum solo in the middle of Train Kept a Rollin.

  • every time i left the usa to go fuck with other countries for the corps this song was in my head

  • ROCK!!!!!Oh yeah!!!!

  • If you need just one Aerosmith, get Rocks (1976)!

  • awesome.....the greatest band ever!!

  • AC/DC aint got nothin' on Rocks.

  • @mikexlong who is trying to compare the two? you gotta love AC/DC and Smith. Only an ass would compare one to the other.

  • @bobqueerful just my opinion dum dum.

  • Always takes me back to that particular moment... Just outta Jail hearing this on my Home Stereo, Just fucking Rawks!

  • I was 15 and living outside Boston when Aerosmith released Rocks. Aerosmith was the best band of the times. This was their climax and the LP was rocked a million times at my house and at partys. What a great time!

  • "Rocks" is one of the album you can't stop listening from time to time.

  • This is one of my fav's along with countless other's I could watch them all day and all night. lovethesmith

  • Best album they ever made right here...I need to smoke a lot of pot now!

  • @StoneyMcJuicyBuds No, "Toys in the Attic" is the best album they ever put out, fucking reeferhead. Fucking burnout.

  • @leadguitarist999 Your such an ugly-assed negative person...get outta my house..go on...scoot

  • @PlanTonto LOL. Kids these days...

  • @leadguitarist999 Actually, I am 47. Why should it bug you why someone's opinion is different from yours and he smokes pot? You both can agree that Aersomith is an awesome band. That's all you need. That's why this world is so fucked up, people bickering over people's differences. I love you.

  • @PlanTonto BTW it's "You're" not "Your". Dumbass.

  • @leadguitarist999 Sorry, I was smoking too much pot. Does this mean you don't love me back? :(

  • @leadguitarist999 And by the way, douche, it is "yours" Good God!

  • @StoneyMcJuicyBuds yeaaaayhweeedo dat!!

  • "Rocks" ROCKS!!

  • I love it how Slash got his inspiration mainly from this album :)

  • @BACKinBLACK786 and the song that did was nobodys fault, badass

  • Best ROCK album ever!!! Can't understand why it's never on the greatest rock album countdowns?

  • It slays me that they did this album live and within a 24 hour period.

Amazing...their best album hands down. When they were in their heyday.

God...I remember when they released Dream On...damn....

  • Heroin is a helluva a drug!

  • Tom Hamilton laid down the funky guitar riff for this one. I've seen these guys all over the US - at least 10 times. First time was my first concert on the Toys in the

    Attic Tour.

    They are the best.

  • I do believe "Rocks" is the greatest album in Aerosmith's considerable catalog of great albums.

  • I was in the 11th grade when this came out....what an excellent time for rock...Aerosmith, Queen, Zep, Yes, Eagles, all in their prime, heyday!!

  • God...all the parties, beer and weed, and AEROSMITH...great time to be young

    1976...SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMONDS!!!!

  • My favorite song on the "Rocks" album. I know what its like to be sick as a dog. I'm glad Aerosmith got there shit together and made what I think was the best come back ever. Aerosmith, try to get along with each other so we can continue to come and see you. Nobody rocks like you boys!!!!!

  • LOUDER!

  • Great song. Reminds of hanging out at Camp Dearborn (MI) in 1976 getting canned on Miller High Life!

  • this shit reminds me of when my dad would take me fishing on opening day he'd be all gassed up off of whiskey good times bro.

  • Summer of '76 Driving to the YMCA in Quincy MA in my late brother's '66 Pontiac with the Creig 8-Track blasting this tape!

  • ahh yes,, BKLYN 1976, hair down to my shoulders,Levis painted on, free concerts at Wolfs Pond Staten Island ,and an old beat down1964 Chevy Biscayne.

  • The last great album by Aerosmith. (ROCKS)

But, true fans knew they were at their wits end; as sick as a dog claims.

  • definitely some of their best work on the ROCKS album-I have it on vinyl

  • great upbeat song but then the epic guitar solo that comes out of nowher seems kind of out of place. it wouldve been better in home tonight eh?its a shame

  • Back when they were a rock-n-roll band - before all that amazing crazy cryin' bullshit

  • It's 1975 all over again, and I'm exploding with life. Tunes like this electrified me, and still do.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • ALPINE VALLEY ....1985..... AND I WAS!!!!!!

  • my top five albums through my life so far are

    1. the Ramones- Leave Home

    2. the Stooges-Raw Power

    3. Rolling Stones-Sticky Fingers

    4. James Gang-Rides Again

    5. Aerosmith-Rocks

these albums are what keep me alive as i live my life... and also, put the first Iron Maiden album on that list too XD

  • @UFCfanboy7898 hah i just bought leave hom,raw power and goats head soup the other day XD

  • 10 stars ! My favorite tune by Aerosmith

  • just saw a video with Tom H. on this song.

Perry plays the base on this one, Hamilton the lead or rythem im not sure. and at the end around the 3:00 the bass stops for a while, thats where they switch it all up i think steven goed on with the base perry goes lead for the outro-colo

  • @AERONOOB Whoa...awesome! WWHat video? Was it live????

  • @Animelloveer its an interview, on how this was recorded. Tom H told about who played what instruments. it wasnt a music clip.

  • Rocks is a fantastic album! Every song is great!

  • good stuff

  • SMIT RULEZ!!!!!!

  • Aerosmith kicks rock n roll ass!

  • When they asked steven tyler why they named the album "ROCKS" he said "because it does!" Best rocker answer ever to rolling stone mag!!

  • @vinfire022 Who is they?

  • @vinfire022 One of the best guitar players I ever played with recommended this by saying "I think you need to listen to Rocks because it does!" Ha ha. Prolly quoting them. Either way, ROCKS rocks.

  • imo, best american hard rock album of the 70's

  • @emokiller907 just like appetite for destruction was in the 80's

  • 60,000 views only? this is amazing.

  • 2 people thought the dislike button was the download button.

  • @whitepiggy98 I've always thought the same thing. Things got really bubblegum and popish once they got clean. its for sure not the same! '70s aerosmith forever :)

  • Whoa is me...I feel like crying because not only was the last great album by Aerosmith (Draw the Line fans might not agree) but they were in the midst of a drug-mental-breakdown.

Any album that follows ROCKS proves it!

  • a fucking awesome song rock on!!!

  • still more great music from the boys from beantown...............great album and many a wasted night..........take me back please......2:40 on better have ya a fatty on.

  • One of Aerosmith's best songs. Also very under rated. This whole album is great. Their best. Then it's Get your Wings. I wish they could write like this now. This recording however sounds a little funny.

  • At 2:55 is what every great Aerosmith song has but I can't define it.

  • @jesseh1 that my friend, is goosebumps...

  • One of my favorite songs off of one of my favorite albums. The two loses that disliked this need to get a life!

  • top 5 fave song ever. perfect.

  • @TheAerochick13 yup saw them at Ball state University in Indiana ( A day after they finished a prom on the east coast and a week after Toys was released) Joe Cocker too wasted to play/ Savoy Brown was good and they backed up Blue Oyster Cult - but they (Aerosmith),,,, I don't know - seen em six times after that and besides ZZTOP ( the last name in rock n roll) they uh ..best band in America. it's rock and roll, not rocket science

  • @80sHairMetalrocks so is hendrix, lol and cobain is my favorite in the list >.< but i guess he is pretty distinct

  • huh

  • Great American rock song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 'Rocks' incredibly perfect album each song better than the others.

  • Seen Them In The Kingdome Right After This Album Was Realeased. Excellent Live Band Back Then. Wish I Could Go Back.

  • this song is about being dopesick

  • I was Sick as a Dog yesterday and all I could think of is this song. LOL

  • @ScullBayProductions fucking faggot stfu holy shit

  • @ScullBayProductions for 30 years my soundtrack for the flu (and hangovers) lol

  • THE BEST !!!

  • BEST HARD ROCK ALBUM!!!!!

  • This tune is ON FIRE ...... !!!

  • Aerosmith - the greatest american rock band

  • @glammm25 Better check with Van Halen about that.

  • @Glasbrow what's a 'Van Halen'? aerosmith are obviously the best.

  • @chrisjtt509 Eh Vah Halen, the guy who changed the way the electric guitar is played and his band. You may have heard of them. If not a new album will be out by summer. Enjoy watching sell out Tyler on American Idol.

  • @Glasbrow i know who van halen are really, it was supposed to sound sarcastic but obviously i suck at that aha, still van halen are pretty small compared to aerosmith. i don't like van halen much.

  • @chrisjtt509 Van Halen small? They have sold over a 100 million albums worldwide. Go to your local Guitar Center or Sam Ashe. See that big EVH symbol on all the guitars, amps, effects, strings, straps, etc, etc. ???

Along with Hendrix, Eddie is the biggest icon in the history of rock guitar. There`s a whole industry that proves it. And again while Tyler is on Idol, Edward is making a new album which you will hear soon.

  • @Glasbrow no he's not, icons : hendrix, cobain, slash, angus young. van halen are relatively unheard of for how long they've been around and how many albums they've put out. all their songs sound similar. i havent seen many van halen logos around at all... he plays the guitar very well, maybe he did change the way it was played, but their song writing skills are looooowwww and if it wasn't for the crazy guitar solos, there would be no reason to listen to them.

  • @Glasbrow sorry that was Hendrix, Keith, and Robert johnson- oh BB King, Bo Diddley, Huddy Ledbetter, Chuck Berry, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Elmore James, the instrument is the same - they're just part of changing music - whether its electric or not it's what you have, it's what inside you ( oh and BTW? I saw Van Halen perform a week after they came out with their first album - he's a great guitarist - Schaumburg IL 1978

  • @Glasbrow I love all those players. Keith is my boy. But my point was Eddie Van Halen literally changed the way the electric guitar was played with his techniques and sound that was never heard before 1978. Eddie says his biggest influence is Eric Clapton. Does he sound anything like Eric or anyone else previous? Totally innovative and totally original, genius. Perfect example, listen to Rocks above, then Van Halen One. Difference in guitar style, technique and sound? Another world.

  • @Glasbrow I'm sure Van Halen would say the same.

  • talk about tight that was incredible

  • Woah.

  • Is there a bad lick, bad moment, bad anything on this album? I think not.

  • @probrojeffro

the only bad part of the album is that it ends......

  • @probrojeffro this and Toys in the Attic greatest rock albums ever, no exaggeration

  • @probrojeffro no way baby!!!! Aerosmith never did anything bad!

  • 21 IS FULL GROWN MAN DAY TO

  • @THOMAS59ism wtf?

  • am awake still great muzac

  • the sex pistols had this rage before sid sad sod

  • the smith before they started playin for the grand openings of kmarts.

  • besides toys... this is my fave aerosmith song. fucking rules.

  • The first four smith albums,id put them up against any other rock artist material,

  • but how

    HOW CAN SOMEONE DISLIKE THIS?

  • As a kid I played drums to this song!! Vinyl!!

  • I can't remember a thing (smile)

  • such a great song. great chorus....

  • did not know...makes sense..why it is such a good take performance-wise. :)

  • Seen them play in 76 at renzi park mckkesport pa.it was fuckin off the chain.i was 13 and drunk as fuck on mad dog.they were doing the rocks tour.

  • cool as hell man ! HTMAIN1 , I hear ya bro !!

  • Another song I remember banging gears in my GTO too , and other things as well!!

  • Incredible! I love the break, it's sooooo dreamy! Yet it rocks out!

  • i believe steven tyler plays guitar in this song

  • in my top 10 albums of all time..every track is a winner..shame there are numerous flaws in production , but magic usually comes at a price..;))

  • @freebird1969 Did you know that this entire album was recorded live in the studio and the whole thing was recorded in a 24 hour period.

You really notice it on some of the songs where Steven's voice is hoarse.

I bought this when it first came out...what an incredible LP for it's day. It still is!

  • you know the bad part is i grew up with them smoke my 1st jont with them 40 years later still smokeing and still rocken with them always be apart of me rock on steve, joe brad tom joey

  • Great song.

  • It's profound to hear a rock band ask for help. Can't you hear desperation in Tyler's voice and Perry's background vocals? They were sick with the stigma and drugs. A shame that drugs defeated them because, IMHO, "Rocks" was their last GREAT album.

  • this was a graet song to watch the submarine races

  • @jakelvis100 was a great son to be in the submarine races to... ;-)

  • This whole album kicksass!!!!! You all should hear it on vinyl, its even better!!!!

  • ONe of the most kick ass rocks songs ever. They never, never play this on any radio station. go figure, only commercial crap over and over. Hey Lady Gag Gag, does this rock to you? Honestly.

  • Don't cut yourselves.

  • kinda brilliant in its way

  • Rocks when they really had it

  • The entire album is consistently bad to the bone! This track has the jam sus2 harmony vox & one of the great outros. Production-wise: ProTools can't hang, folks. This mutha lives up to its title. "Take a bite, Say Goodnight"

  • aerosmith when they had that edge.

  • This song is amazing. The entire album is Aerosmith's best ever.

  • This song is supposed to be about when Steven met Mick Jagger

  • @nydolls73 Never heard that before, but I could understand it if correct.

  • one of my favorite aerosmith's tunes

  • When this album came out I was 9 years old and an instant fan FOREVER!!! I listened to this album until the needle on my turntable broke! :)

  • I had a great stereo at 16 (1976) and got so high listening to this album. As the name implies, it "Rocks". One of the best albums to come out in '76. Everyone had it. Getting high was fun back then! I had a harmon kardon tube amp that was loud (much louder than today's integrated amps). And listening to Aerosmith would blast the house then (without distorting), you could listen to music Extremely Loud back then. 'Nobody's Fault' was a true test. Led Zeppelin was also my other favorite group.

  • I remember when this motherfucker came out!

It ripped ass then and it rips ass now!

    Rock On Motherfuckers!

  • im 12...and i spent all my money on aerosmith vinyls! :) Aerosmith rocks!

  • @1AeroForce1 I'm a few years older then you and I'v spent every dime of my money on Aerosmith Cd's Poster and concert tickets coming up here pretty soon.. Aerosmith Kicks some Serious Butt and will continue to kick it till they cant anymore which thats gonna be never.. I do have a question do your freinds call you old and say why do you listen to old crapy music? I love it when they do cause I can say Music never gets old its like cheese gets better by age.. lol :)

  • @Rockstar3302 No, not really..they like the same kinda music! :D

  • @1AeroForce1 Awsome !
