they should have used the oasis as defensive terrain on the flank so they could concentrate all the light inf, cavalry and elepahnts on the left flank to smash their flank and then attack the phalanx in the side

they need 2 do what Alexander does pute his Phalanx into the enemy Phalanx and take his cavalry to attack the flanks and the back if u cant do it at the right time or not do it at all a phalanx that is more experianced will kill urs

any cavalry that goes into spears or anything other than a phalanx will get mown down when going into a phalanx

They're planning on sending their elephants into the enemy centre, but without supporting them with infantry. The elephants won't stand a chance on their own.

@timonsolus yup, It is rule that when gap is made in enemy line it must immediately secure preventing enemy patch it up. When it is achieved enemy is cut in half and half work is done :)
