  • OH GOD. MY INSIDES.

  • "A human with me at the end... And human tears. 2000 years and I can still be surprised.... In this I see God." Gives me chills everytime.... I so miss Godric :(

  • Most powerful moment in True Blood.

  • Still the finest scene of the entire series. Heartbreakingly beautiful.

  • Just don't get any of it in Brads Humvee reporter

  • that was the first scene i saw of true blood i remember switching the tv and it was on i LOVED IT so i started to watch the show then i search the net to see season 1 &2 just to see Godric , i was sad to find that these were the only episode of him and then i watched season 3 not enough episode of him i wish this season he'll be on more

  • sookie: "i don't know... you know how he is..." godric: "i can take the blame for that too" that smile is just so... godric. i love it. i wish they had given him more screentime. a LOT more.

  • I cried so hard when Eric started crying. Also, I think the language might be Sweidsh. When he said 'Please, Godric' he said snalla, which means 'please' in Swedish

  • @ReachingOutForGOD Yes, it was Swedish! :) And you're right, he said 'Snälla' on Swedsih! :D

  • favorite scene. hands down

  • why do they suddenly speak swedish?

  • I love ERic and Godric so much and their relationship!!! :D WANT season 4 now!! Need to see it !!! Godric's back again yay :D

  • What are Thayer saying?

  • damn... Eric totally breaks my heart with the "åh, snälla, snälla... snälla Godric" and falling on his knees-part...:( thats excellent acting right there...... babyy

  • Damn. I've heard such a hopeless cry 3 times in movies. Ewan in Moulin Rouge, Abbie Cornish in Bright Star and Alexander here. This is not only sad but most of all real. And almost too painful to bear. My heart literally breaks - it's so hard to believe it's just an act. Alex as Eric is of course amazingly handsome (and I don't even like blondes) but he couldn't go so far in popularity if he wasn't amazingly talented as well. And the music! Perfection itself. That's how you create a phenomenon.

  • I cried as soon as Eric did.

  • this breaks my heart

  • Cette scène est la plus intense de la série.. Du moins pour le moment. J'adore ! :D

This scene is the most intense of the show, I totally love it ! :D

  • this scene is the reason why true blood is in a different league from twilight and vampire diaries.

  • @crazylittlething804 I agree that True Blood is awesome, but so is Vampire Diaries. 2x12 will blow you away by Ian and Lauren's acting! :) Twilight on the other hand is nothing.

  • @ameliedaae u r so rite i like trueblood and the vampire diaries i love eric northman and damon salvator :)

  • why is everyone crying over a fictional character? relax lol

  • very deep and intense scene. 4 stars!

  • "2000 years, and I can still be surprised. In this I see God". Omg it makes me weep every time. Every time I watch it. Together with the music...it's so poetic and beautiful...

  • This scene makes me moist-eyed every time I watch it.

  • Darn!!! Why do Vamps and Goths have to be soo darn hot and sexy!!

  • what is the song that starts at 3:47, that shit makes me soooo sad,

    I MISS GODRIC

  • @live4saint it's called Goodbye Godric, I think .. makes me sad, too!! :(

  • ;___; I cried with you Eric, I do no matter how many times I watch this episode.

  • Never thought Eric could cry it's so sweet.

  • sob !

  • I absolutely love this scene, one of my favourites, very good acting

  • at 1:11 what is godric saying ? something in not english ...

  • @MsBonnieful ups soory at 1:03 does he say -. va´ter, bruder, son ( Dad, brother, Son in german) ???

  • @MsBonnieful He says "Fader, broder, son" and yes, it means Father, Brother, Son, but in swedish. I'm from sweden so i find that very awesome to hear my languge in True Blood :D Alexander Skarsgård is from sweden so he speaks swedish from time to time in the series. But you can tell by "Godric"s accent that he isn't. Maybe that's why it sounds like he says Va'ter instead of Fader :)

  • @quister90 Oh ok, thanks.

Is it normal that German and swedish sounds nearly the same ?

I mean Fader Broder son, Vater Bruder Sohn ....

  • @MsBonnieful Well, since I'm from Sweden I don't think it sound the same at all, but I've heard from a lot of people from other countries that it sound pretty much the same, yes

  • I love this scene:)

Eric is like a fearless/heartless warrior through the whole show untill you see his love for Godric:)

And I love the contrast of how they used a young character for Godric:).. He looks so young yet he is the most Mature and evolved Vampire Ive ever seen.. Even Russel who is 1000 years older isnt as evolved mentally.. Id wanted to see more of Godric.. I like Erics flash backs just because Godric is in them:)

  • He's a brilliant actor! :)

    Both are.

  • THIS is why I watch this show. Paquin kinda ruins it, though, IMO.

  • Alexsander play this scene soo well it´s scary . You really feel the pain with him and just cant seem not cry watching this . And i don´t think it´s no wonder it´s the most watch ep in true blood so far .

  • There is a sadness in tears. They are not the mark of waekness but of power. They are messengers of overwhelming grief and of unspeaksble love. -Washington Irving

  • I have to say some of the time i'm not with Alan Ball on some of the changes he's made to the series from the books like the potrayal of bills character and his whole proposal (although I can be biais cos i'm a 100% Eric fan) and sometime I love his changes like with keeping lafayette on as a charactor but this whole story line and this scene in particular is flawless. I loved Godric and was so sad when he died. I mean even the way they had him fade out in the sun was beautifully done.

  • It says on Wikipedia that this is the most watched episode of True Blood ever this far.

  • @dalarauk Obviously, it is. Sookie's erotic dreams of eric, and eric's emotional upheave with godric, it's like a dream come true.

  • @dalarauk could you send me the link?

  • Most beautiful Eric and Godric scene ever! So intense and memorable scene! It was so true! It got my human tears 2!! :'(. You can tell how much chemistry Eric and Godric have! <3 "I wont let you die alone" "Yes you will" Than more tears from eric wow.Than Sookie caring so much for Godric to.Wow She actually cried for Godric and it was amazing. The script was beautiful.Everything they said was so beautiful. And Sookie got 2 see the soft side of Eric...(R.I.P Godric) Poor eric. EPIC.

  • @VampObsession1

I agree:) I loved this scene:)

  • I love this scene.

  • when i saw this scene for the first time it brought tears to my eyes Eric/Alex is so breathtaking *fangirl inside my head-i want him evil smile me-down fangirl*,*fangirl runs into a corner* sorry about that

  • Fuck Twilight, this is where it's at!

  • I don't see why neither of them got an Emmy Nomination for this scene! Oh my goodness it was so great.

  • When I saw this part, I realized that True Blood is an amazing tv show with a perfect cast, they are so talented!

True blood is becoming one of the best tv shows we've ever seen, thanks Alan Ball!

  • so incredibly sad...

  • This scene startled me into tears. You are so used to Eric's callousness and sheer power. He would NEVER show emotion, such a human trait of weakness. But lo and behold...suddenly he's at his most vulnerable. No ONE could bring him to his knees like Godric. God I love this scene.....True Blood REIGNS. I wish the writer and director on this show would do Anne Rice's vampire series. The original four books...when she was GREAT.

  • at 4.16, Godrics expression in response to what sookie says, His expression just says it all. Its legend and fucking amazing

  • fucking amazing actor

  • what 6 heartless people disliked this?!

  • one thing i never understood was thier love its like a brother/son/father love kinda thing right? i never understand the orientation of these vamps =/

  • @lola92393 this is what godric said to him before he changed him. godric wanted him to be his companion and said that he would be like a father (maker) brother(friend) and son....etc there is nothing sexual about the relationship godric says this to eric because his life is about to end, the same as erics human life ended this lets eric know that it really is the end.....or so i would surmise, but this is just my take on it

  • @MissAlbaNuadh smart.. thanks cleared up a lot for me =]

  • @lola92393 hey no problem...i think i am a tad bit obsesses with this show...i wanna be a vamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • this scene is SOOOOOOOOOOOO SAD!!!

    poor Godric *tear*

    poor Eric *tear tear*

  • scenes like this show us that eric really has emotions and that he could really be good for sookie instead of just a playboy

there is good in eric northman but just for sookie

  • i can see godric and sookie together

i love godric and of course eric..who doesnt love him?

  • :'( I want to just hug godric and eric.

  • This was the most epic and passionate scene in this season

  • I cried when Godric died :(

  • One thing I really don't get is Godric's reaction to the sunlight... When Bill walked out to save Sookie, during the day, he didn't have half an as severe reaction to the light! He even survived (or, eh... yeah... out-dead-ed it... xP)... But Godric bursts into flame? I guess one idea could be that it's because he's more, longer "overdue" with his death than Bill, so it happens "harsher", but since vamps are supposed to grow stronger with age, I'd think Godric would be more resistant... Help? :P

  • @FaerieDust I don't think vamps get stronger with age, but the first vampires (the elders) are stronger 'cause their blood is purer. But I agree that by that fact they should be more resistent to the sunlight exposure than the youngers.

  • @compadrejunior In true blood, vampires DO get stronger with age, but at the same time they become more vulnerable to sunlight. That's why Godric burned in a second whereas Bill was able to walk around while frying sloooowly lol

  • @compadrejunior Haha, oops, I thought I hadn't posted that comment... xP Turns out, it's his (Godric's) age that causes the strong reaction... He says that "It won't take long, not in my age" when Sookie says that she'll stay with him...But yes, I do think strength and stuff improves over age, I don't think it has anything to do with their blood being "purer" - all vampires are made from humans, after all...

  • @FaerieDust I think the way godric burned might become a little weird in ep 12 of season 3 . I know that godric will be in episode 12 . Read a comment that Allan hyde ( Godric ) will be in some sort of flashback . Seen a pic .. with him looking like this to. With Sookie having blood that can make vampier´s walk in the sun know in season 3 .. it might change something about it . I think the blue flames alway´s been weird . I don´t know why but they alway´s have to me .Cant Wait to see the ep .

  • anybody know the name of that song? please :(

  • damn! why all the good characters have to die!??

I wish something happen and godric will come back ..he didnt deserve to die! not him!

  • godric is awesome, im pissed hes gone

  • This episode was the first one I'd ever seen and when i watched this scene I broke down it was so sad and it got me hooked instantly

  • I want to kiss Eric after watching this.

Jag älskar dig,Eric! <3 [Fuck, I think I'm going to start learning Swedish soon!] :D

  • Alexander is just a brilliant actor. Every word he says feels authentic and real.

  • My grandmother's father was from Sweden, and he always called her "karlek" - (pronounced share-lek) - "love". I remember them both with love whenever I watch this clip. Alexander S. gave it his all and knocked it out of the park in this scene.

  • This scene is so amazing!!!

  • only proves that vamps are capeable of love and emotion they feel the most powerful kind in a way, the bonds they make are for eternity!

  • I also LOVE how he cries and sys 'please godric' uughh amazing

  • Watching it for a second time, I love when eric is like 'I won't let you die alone' but godrics like 'nope, sorry' and eric just breaks down like' FUCK!' Sucks cuz he's got to follow his orders lol

  • This is my absolute favorite scene from True Blood thus far. It's beautiful.

  • I just love the size difference between Eric and Sookie, like, how cute they look together.

  • I aint gonna lie, I cried liked a little baby. This part was really sad.

  • i cried so bad when eric started :'(

  • Damn! I was so touched with this scene!

  • godrich is not erics maker in the book series.

  • That was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

  • erics a damn good actor.

  • Lol, is there something wrong with me if I started laughing when he did that high-pitched whimpering? Something about it came off as funny rather than heartbreaking. :-/

  • @GreenGretel it's a trick cry, a two-way street, :) . You could either laugh due to the pitch effect, or believe it's a very real cry and the most touching, purest breakdown. I choose the latter. I think it's Alex's personal cry and I love how that pierces the screen and it feels like they are real people and not in a show.

  • @GreenGretel also the purest of things are always near the pathetic ones. :)

  • I know this is a sad scene and all but how hot is Alex when he speaks Swedish?? :D

  • Anna and Alex were excellent in this scene!! Kudous to them both!!

Alex broke my heart in this scene. You could see how desperate Eric was to stop what was going to happen and when he could, you you see his world was ending and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

  • Alex broke my heart in this scene. You could see how desperate Eric was to stop what was going to happen and when he could, you you see his world was ending and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

Anna and Alex were excellent in this scene!! Kudous to them both!!

  • That was the best Man Cry ever I agree

  • Omg, nooo Godric is the best, he can't die!

  • Best. Man-Cry. EVER.

  • true to his master right to the end

  • he is very tall!!

  • So sad."A human with me at the end, and human tears. Two thousand years and I can still be surprised. In this, I see God."

  • i cry every single time i watch this... i wanna know who didn't! cause i don't think i was the only one who cried

  • oh no...why he gone!!!?? :( ...he can't be my maker now!

this episode was really sad...but nice!

  • great performance by Alex Skarsgaard. The way his voice is breaking right in the first minutes when he's trying to convince Godric...

  • sad....but lol....what an epic way to go!!!!

  • Great episode!, and very sad too

someone knows the name of the theme song at the end?

  • I hear they are gonna bring Godric back in season 3... In flashbacks of course but still it sucks they had to get rid of a good character like him

  • Cool episode. I really enjoyed this episode because we got to see another side of Eric.

  • I think this episode is one of the best because of all the emotions and Eric shows that his not that cold and he can feel love even though he doesn't admit it.

  • * Vater Bruder Sohn xd

  • lol I'm german and I thought that part of vater mutter bruder sohn idk.. was german haha but in swedish / danish or idk is it the same xddd cool

  • @NtBaby It's supposed to be in Swedish. ;) Alex is actually a Swede, tho I don't know about Godric but I think he's supposed to be speaking Swedish as well only it sounds odd since the actor doesn't speak the language. LOL.

  • @UndeniableProduction the guy who plays Godric is Danish.

  • :O I cried!! And I don't even watch the show!!! I just randomly found this video!! But how touching and moving it was!!

  • This is THE BEST episode of True Blood. Absolutely fantastic and it moves me every time I watch it. I can't wait for S3.

  • Is it just me, or does Eric/Alex look like a divine angel even with freaking blood/tears on his face... His voice is mesmerizing... and in this scene you can see his soft-gentle side...which makes him even more beautiful inside/out...

  • anybody know the name of the theme song at 4:02 ?

  • he got my human tears too

  • Awesome scene, this should have been the season finale!

I just wish Godric hadnt burst into blue flames tough

it looked kinda gay, kinda twilight...I get it, he is different from the others, Cmon 2000 years old...but if he burst into blue flames with some blood drops raining on sookie it would be so AWESOME

  • This scene can have me crying in about 1 second.

    It hurts so much!

  • He is a fantastic actor! You can really feel his grief and pain, and in the following scene when Sookie comforts him..! Holy S...! He is good!!

  • it would be intresting to have a prespective from a 2000 year old entity.

  • This part still makes me cry everytime I see it...

  • @MarciesCamera ähhh... hes not talking german.... its all swedish!? !!!

  • @quitschgelb

Yes, it´s all swedish. But Godric (the actor) is actually Danish, but he speaks swedish with an accent.

  • Comment removed

  • No, It is Swedish and says " Fader, Broder, Son". But it means father, brother, son.....

  • Fader, broder, son.

    Father, brother, son.

The actor is Danish. So, no. It's not german.

  • watch the part when godric puts his hand on erics head are those tattoos under his finger nails?

  • I think it look´s like hi gott hi´s nails ript of hi´s fingers ( if you pause ). And the dark part is blood and hi´s nails sort of heailing .

  • does Godric have an accent when hes talking swedish?

  • Yup :] But it's better than Pam's. I should hope so, seeing as Allan is Danish :]

  • @quitschgelb I don't know about the swedish part but the german part was pretty good.

  • @MarciesCamera

    What German parts???

  • I wanna hug Eric after watching this

  • the blue fire was fuckin kick ass, thts prbly the best effects ive scene on an hbo series, these people deserve a medal for this show

  • man eric looks goooooooooooood!!

  • I have to agree with you all, the acting was superb. It turned the guilty pleasure of watching this serious into a whole other level. Not that I want the characters to be sappy all of the time, but let's face it, this series makes people feel a personal bond with the characters. Keep up the great work, writers.

  • @JadeKitty70 Exactly this. :)

  • wats wth the crying blood?

  • In true blood . The vampiers cry blood when they cry . They are dead and ther blood is the very thing that ceps them alive . So they have no tears . Love goderic in the show :) . I think hi was among the best part of season 2 . This clip is soo amazing . The acting is unbelivebol and you cant simply not cry for goderic . plz forgive my writhing .

  • @death2usAllandkira Blah blah, blah.

  • this doesn't happen is the book???

if it does, wow....... i'd cry tight now........

( he loses his accent in it sometimes )

  • it did hppen but eric wasnt there it was just sookie.

  • thx, so much! =)

  • Comment removed

  • @itzybitzysamuria The character of Godric is very different in the books, but this scene is there in book two.

  • This was a stunning episode between Eric showing some emotion and Sookie speaking with Godric waiting for him to die. It made me cry a little. Very well made episode.

  • This was so heartbreaking but amazingly done!!

  • Also, love the little sad smile Eric does at 1:58!

  • am i the only one who thinks godric was freaking sexy?

  • No, he's a super hottie. xD

  • that is why i cried so hard when he died.but luckily they said something about bringing him back in flashbacks.

  • that really suxs 4 GODRIC

    i kinda liked that character

  • Question for the Swedes: when Eric starts crying and doubles over, then falls to his knees, begging Godric (and the subtitles say that he's saying "Please. Please. Please, Godric.") is he saying "Snälla. Snälla. Snälla, Godric"? I'm in the process of learning phrases in Swedish, and I thought "tack" was the word for "please"?
