Sounds like me dancing in aerial dogfighting combat processing targets like a sewing machine going through a slaughterhouse, only with more machine gun fire, rocket launches and explosions. I'm should download this video, import it into Sony Acid, add some violent sound effects, like the Irish were fighting the British in a violent war of independence, and see how it comes out
@RobertBurnsOB I'm from Cape Breton and I can tell she's not from around here. But if she plays traditional Celtic music, I highly doubt she's from Michigan either.
@cheifguggletram So, someone can't be from Michigan, or anywhere else in the States presumably, and not be able to play Celtic music? Are you serious?
Must admit, I didn't watch this at all. Within seconds, my eyes were shut, and I just floated off . . . which I always think is the highest compliment I can pay the musician!
Not qualified to judge on Colleen's technical ability, but as far as the feeling and spirit is concerned - full marks!
Great set of tunes! Very helpful since I'm trying to learn more slip jigs.
BUT -- her verbal description, and the text description above, are mixed up. The 1st tune is Whinny Hills of Leitrim -- and that is not the one that has the A part played only once. The 2nd tune, starting at 1:14, must be the unnamed one she learned from Sean O'Riada, and that's the one that has the first part played only once. Last tune is Garech's Wedding, like she said.
Ok, so this is over a year old. Her playing is quite good.....as good as any others I've seen/heard on YouTube. She takes her breathes at just the right moment to keep the music flowing. I love to hear the "stops" in the music. You play very well, and now that time has passed, I'm sure you're even better. Well done!
I'm from the metro Detriot area too! :) And I've met Mick Gavin before... He was one of the musicians playing for our dance academy's fundraiser. I dance at the Ardan Academy of Irish Dance; you may have heard of it. Anyway, this video is really good! You are certainly very talented. Which type of tin whistle are you using?
great! just great! But I can't find the title of the first tune... what is it please ? or at least the musician Collen says (I can't understand, I'm french) thanks!
The first song is actually a reel

What kind of whistle is that and where can I buy one?
PaulLydenIrish 1 year ago
@PaulLydenIrish I think that's a Burke copper whistle... very expensive whistles, they go for about 100 dollars...
if you like, you can check my channel... I make whistles myself, and they sound great... of course, they don't cost 100 dollars xD

I don't believe that she's from Michigan. Her accent indicates that she's from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia or thereabouts. She's quite talented,
