  • thanks for nice review :)

can i play the rolling stones with fender strat and ts9?

  • @Daaannnyyy37 Yes you can

  • glad to see the strat tone is still in tact even after full gain.

  • @Jst0911 Yes it is amazingly transparent

  • I was looking for the vintage a bit bluezy king of tone, almost like the big dipper mayer or Texas specials or even standard stock PUs with kinman blues quality. Is height adjustments on th kinman blues could get me very close? get some bright...not much.

    THANKS A LOT!!!

  • @negred1985 I'm not completely sure what your saying, but if you're asking about pickup adjustments, they make a big difference. Especially with Strats and anything with P90s.

  • oh ok, thanks man!!!

  • @negred1985 No worries. Oh and the other really important thing is that the height of the pickups has a big influence on the tone. It is true with any pickup but it might be even truer with Kinmans.

  • Hey, very nice demos. Wanted to know if you tried the kinman mk3 or mk2 , and would you give me you personal opinion on sound comparison to the blues set u are currently using in this vid...

    thanks

  • @negred1985 I have never tried a Kinman MK2 or MK3 set but what I know about my AVn blues pickups is that they are low output. The stock pickups of my 78 Telecaster are hotter. The good thing about low out put pickups is the pristine clean tone that you can get. But with the Kinmans, you can go further and use tons of gain if you want to, and the tone remains hum free.

  • Now that was awesome

  • @edisongla55 Thank you!

  • The youtube audio is so bad :( if we are whit you, our ears become blod

  • @quebuenaviola what do you mean?

  • your videos are fantastic, thanks a lof I need you

  • My bad.. i thought that was you for some reason o_o.. the only reason i favour these so much is the that i'm quite interested in learning blues, since a lot of famous players find their feet with blues, and i want pickups that can perform on the clean channel as well as distortion. I already have humbucking guitars, so i dont need pickups like them, it's just im sick of my noisey tex mex's. I dont mind buying pedals either.

  • i see, thanks for the response!

do you have any idea what pickups would be best for my then? I'm, playing through a blackstar ht-20 and i really dont like my stock tex mex pickups. Cleans are fine, its just distortian seems weak and real noisey.. i was thinking maybe fender hot noiseless but your gary moore cover kinda blew me away..

  • @MrUnseenBucket I think the gary moore cover was done by another guy, I know the one you are talking about. You can get big distortion sounds out of the Kinmans as long as you have a high gain amp or that you push a normal gain amp with a good overdrive pedal. Another option for you is to change the bridge pickup to put a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails or a Di Marzio Fast Track or so and use the bridge for big distorted sounds.

  • hey, your kinman avn blues pickups how do you like them? is the bridge pickup good for classic rock sorta tone? im looking to change my pickups on my road worn 60's strat to these

  • @MrUnseenBucket Hi, I still love them after 10 years. They are not high output pickups (my stock 78 Telecaster pups are hotter). The bridge will do classic rock but if you need a big distortion kind of tone, you will have to use two gain stages as in one overdrive boosting a distortion. Check out my video with 2 overdrives. These pups are so quiet that you can use huge amounts of gain with no hum and very little noise. Oh and pickup height has a big influence on the Kinmans (see their website).

  • Which analogman mod is this? Silver? True Vintage? Just the 808 mod?

  • @MeMota It is the 808 mod (I had to look into my email archive to find out as I bought it in 2002!)

  • This sounds killer!

  • @MeMota and the amp is only 5 watts...

  • is that guitar shielded????

    regards!

  • @malmsteen1984 Yes and it is fitted with noiseless Kinman pickups hence no hum.

  • @rbigeard thanks for the answer! hugs!

  • The 70s champs are going for quite some money now (around 500 Euros in Europe. I had a quick look at ebay in the Us and I have seen them around USD 400). Apparently, there was a time when you could pick them for next to nothing...

They do sound really good though and they are excellent recording amps.

  • For how much do these go for? i would just take out the amp and put it in a bigger 12inch combo or just connect it to a 12inch speaker :) it would sound even better :D :D

  • Thanks! Yes it is the stock speaker.

  • Sounds good!!! It looks like it takes pedals very well!!! Is the speaker Stock Speaker?

    Thanks!!!
