  • Is it bad that I was rooting for Joe the entire time? Oh well, he is so sexy! He would have killed her if the other "meta"-humans hadn't showed up :-( I felt bad for him, stupid show!

  • It took me an embarrassingly long time to recognise Shemar Moore (my best friend would deck me if only she knew). I didn't even recognise his voice, which is how I usually find actors I knew in shows. Dammit. /shameshameshame

It's not bad that Joe being slightly evil in this makes me want his character to win anyway? Letting him jump/fall while just STANDING THERE AND WATCHING (I think) was even more callous then if they'd let chicky-babe push him over. THIS SHOW IS CREEPING ME OUT, GUYS.

  • I dunno, if it's because of how awesome Joe is or what, but I felt sorry for the character he played here. xD

Cheers for the clips, the guy's hell talented, need to see him on the big screen or in his next big role soon...

  • @FedReq Have to agree! =))

  • Looks like they were using ideas from 'The Matrix' X-Men and B movie plots...I do like the idea of a series like this, but it doesn't look like they could make it jell.

  • Well, I digged this one out because of Joe Flanigan, nothing more =))

  • One thing bothers me though, If WB hated the idea of Oracle/Batgirl being in a wheelchair, why did they allow that show to be made in the first place?

  • No idea, sorry.

  • This series really had a lot going for it. Too bad they couldn't hire better writers. If you saw the first episode then that's all you needed to see because every episode after it was exactly the same.

  • They basically kept recycling the same script over and over again. Introduced lame villain-of-the-week (trust me, they were lame), one of the three girls develops a personal vendetta against the villain, against everyone's wishes she sets out to kill villain on her own, other girls swoop in and save the day, girl with personal vendetta learns her lesson (teamwork and justice not revenge and blah, blah, blah).

  • Lesson learned until the next episode when the exact same thing happens all over again but with a new bad guy. It all got very tiring, very fast. Nothing new ever happened and character development was practically non-existent. Another flaw was that due to pressure from the teen-friendly WB network, the producers were forced to replace one of the characters from the comics with a new teenage character who was so full of angst that you wanted to smack her.

  • She was also worthless. Think Dawn from "Buffy" only more annoying. Based on the premise alone, I really wanted to like this show but I was never given a good enough reason to like it. A wasted effort.

  • Then I'm good having watched only this one episode! ;) I know what you mean, now the Stargate Universe has gone so downhill from previous franchise productions and I wish I could just discard it and not waste my nerves as every episode turns to disappointment but no, stupid me.

  • It's clear that the show's failure is rooted in its over familiarity with that other superhero show Smallville, which is a shame because I have always been more of a Batman fan than a Superman fan.

  • Yeah, and hypocritical for more. Like I said, if they're so "good" they could have helped him accommodate with his ability instead. But then it wouldn't be "guest starring" any more. A guest star needs to go for good when the episode is over! >:-|

  • No offence but BOP was one of the worse shows ever created and i have the list to prove it...

  • Really? No offense taken, but it seems to me I've seen worse =)) Haven't seen more of this anyway than this single episode for the sake of JF

  • The REAL Truth behind that failed Birds of Prey series was that Warner Bros. hated Oracle/Batgirl being in a wheelchair and wanted to push the younger Huntress character to attract the young adult audience. The writers didn't know what to do with the Dinah character, since she didn't have any super physical abilities, and they debated writing her out of the series.

  • DC Comics nixed the use of any of the major DC characters, and the writers could only reference minor ones. The Warner Bros. movie division told the TV division hands off Batman and the Joker. The TV division had them shoot on the Warner lot instead of Toronto, which limited the scope of what they could do. Stories with non-meta villains were vetoed.

  • The writers were exiled from the set and the production offices. The network wanted Harley Quinn dropped at one point. The list goes on.

  • Ah, I see now. The reasons are different but the feelings I gather similar to why I count the Legend of the Seeker series such a failure comparing to the books (Sword of Truth). If you don't know the original story, it's OK, but in comparison and especially with all the "cut downs" to the orignal ideas it's hysterically shallow.

  • According to executive producer Hans Tobeason, WB had "issues" with Oracle and her chair (what's more, they tried to freeze her out of the show altogether by limiting her screentime.

  • Omg, I love this. Joe Flanigan is so awesome in this episode too bad it ends like that.
