thank you for uploading this video with such a good quality pictures, Mohammad Reza didn't forget about Poland and invited also a representative from my country
Been looking around wiki, they said this event cost between $100 and $200 millions one hell of a banquet. I'd be interested in going back in time and attending. Would've liked to meet the Shah and get insight on better middle eastern policy (streamed a couple interviews), and see the relics of Persia in a new light. Those ancient ruins looked interesting, and I could see them and appreciate their history without the politics of hardliners gnawing at my eyes ans ears as in this era.

If only the Shah would allow his people to just see the parade as well as attend the commemorating of Kourosh, I am sure they wouldnt be pissed off like they were later and would respect him a little more.
@slimv29 i know how it is now, i lived in iran between 2003 and 04 and have visited regularly. the current regime has many many flaws but i'd still rather live under it than the shah's regime. the living standards for an average person (considering all the sanctions) is still better imo.
@xerojreffaj The people don't like the current regime, they are worse than the shah, Iran needs an Iranian republic (like Turkey but no Erdogan), not an "Islamic" republic, understand?
@slimv29 Life under the shah was fantastic if you were one of his elite. for everyone else it was misery. i am not supporting the current lot in any way, i know corruption is endemic in the islamic republic too.
but i have to disagree with your blanket statement. who gives you authority to speak on behalf of 'the people'?
and turkey's system is hugely flawed. extreme secularism is as bad as extreme islamism. and that the army should have such a huge amount of control is disturbing
@xerojreffaj Look it up if you don't believe me about the Iranian people not liking their government, its a fact, ever heard of Marg Bar Dictator? I don't think you should insult people like Ataturk, he built his country. Plus Ahmadinejad and Khameini may end up becoming enemies as a result of the turmoil in the Majlis going on. The Islamic Republic even despises Persian history (especially the Ayatollahs). The Shah made mistakes (like trusting the US too much), but at least he was pro-Fars.
@slimv29 I don't need to look anything up, I live/d there. There are obviously many who don't like the current government or the whole velayet-e-faqih system (in fact I am one of them!!) but there are many more in my opinion who wouldn't want a wholesale change.
I didn't insult Ataturk, but as it goes I think he went too far to the opposite extreme in order to change the Ottoman empire.
@xerojreffaj Have you heard of the Green Revolution? In fact theres videos that show protesting towards the regime, plus you lived in 03-04, this is 2011 understand? things have changed
@slimv29 you misunderstand me. i said there is undoubtedly opposition to the government. i oppose them myself! yet i don't think the opposition is a majority of the iranian people, whatever western media would have you think...and i am a frequent visitor, i've been back many times since 2004.
@xerojreffaj I don't use the western media nice try, and still, people dont like Khameini, and it's not some minority. Only those who like Khameini, are those who profitted from him.
Wow, didn't know Iran used to be such a grandiose, classy and colorful place. Seeing Ayatollah land and this, it's like night and day. I heard they've banned music now.
@primeholyassasin20 yeah grandiose, classy and colourful if you were friends or family of the shah. anyone else and you were starving whilst they were having their 2500 anniversary parties.
Funny thing i read is that even thou this was a celebration of Iranian culture, the only food item of Iranian origin was pilaf. The rest was flown from Europe, mostly France.
@Harrybob5000 um im not iranian, but from what i can see from my opinion, iran is doing worse now!, iran could have compromised for a constitutional monarchy, it didnt have to over throw it, i would like to see were in any record it say's millions were dieing ?, yeah their was still some poverty in 70s but much of iran was being modernized because of him, iran had international respect,it was one of first islamic states too liberalize and modernize itself, but now ur nation is labeled as militant
A great God is Ahuramazda, who created this earth, who created yonder sky, who created man, who created happiness for man, who made Xerxes king, one king of many, one lord of many. I am Xerxes, the Great King, King of Kings, King of countries containing many kinds (of men), King in this great earth far and wide, son of King Darius, an Achaemenian
@ET740 O Iran, o bejeweled land O, your soil is the wellspring of the arts Far from you may the thoughts of evil be May you remain lasting and eternal O enemy, if you are of stone, I am of iron May my life be sacrificed for the pure soil of my motherland Since your love became my calling My thoughts are never far from you In your cause, when do our lives have value? May the land of our Iran be eternal. The stones of your mountains are jewels and pearls
@ET740 The soil of your valleys are better than gold When could I rid my heart of your affection? Tell me, what will I do without your affection? As long as the turning of the earth and the cycling of the sky lasts The light of the Divine will always guide us Since your love became my calling My thoughts are never far from you In your cause, when do our lives have value? May the land of our Iran be eternal Iran, o my green paradise Bright is my fate because of you

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to use Shahanshahi Anthem of Iran? "Ey Iran" was never liked by Pahlavi kings and clergies.
Thanks for uploading though.

Whilst the Shah and his fellows celebrated this festival, millions of iranians were suffering of poverty and he didn't even give a shit.

If fire rains on my body
Other than your love I will not cherish in my heart
Your water, soil and love molded my clay
If your love leaves my heart it will become barren
Since your love became my calling
My thoughts are never far from you
In your cause, when do our lives have value?
May the land of our Iran be eternal
