  • @DoctorWhoFan2013 Unluck for you.

  • To me, the baritone horns always have the sweetest parts in these marches. Just listen to 'the bridge'! This march is no exception and is one of my faves.

  • im 2nd clarinet cant really hear the part

  • kinda sounds like Austrian ballet

  • I'm a 3rd trumpet and we get some of the cooler parts in the song nobody else plays :D

  • All I can hear is Assassins....

  • I <3 Sousa Marches. Trumpet part's so much fun. Thank god I'm not a horn player xD

  • My bands playing this atm ^^ its cool i guess (trumpet)

  • Very fun on the oboe :D

  • This piece is easy to play until the key and time signature changes. That's when I have difficulties...I play trumpet, btw

  • I'm American and a Sousa fan but I'd like to recommend a couple of very good Polish Marches to you. "Marsz Krakowskie Dzieci" is one and "Marsz Rzeczpospolita" is the other. No, I can't pronounce them. Both are on YouTube.

  • @lalaura241 You are overestimating the number of bassoon players in the world. :D

Part 1: The marching around the castle.

Part 2: The Captain walks out.

    Part 3: The ball.

    Part 4: A joke.

Part 5: Continuation of the ball.

    Part 6: An ambush.

    Part 7: A valiant retaliation.

    Part: 8: Victory song.

  • what is the origin of this song

  • @mieludo ....This march was written by American composer John Philip Sousa in 1898.

  • This song helped my band win our class at the Smokey Mountain Band Competiton this year

  • @TheTommyStone piece of music. not song.

  • @rosjger1 I played this *Piece of music* at a competiton >_____> (Happy?)

  • @TheTommyStone yes.

  • @rosjger1

    actually, it's a march

    >:D

    sorry :|

  • @Euphonium1996 its a piece of music made for marching. Sousa basically only made marches, and that why they named the Sousaphone Sousaphone because of John Phillips Sousa. (if u don't know, the sousaphone is the marching tuba)

  • @rosjger1 *John Philip Sousa

  • I am doing this as my first march in High school band...

It's quite the step up from middle school concert band, but it is a lot of fun!

  • we played this and it was really fun to play. :)

  • This song is fantastic to play especially the bone parts!

  • we played this in 7th grade ahhhh the good ol days hehehe

  • i play the flute and this song is so tricky but it changes so much so it feels like a bunch of songs made into 1

  • Lawls, I miss playing this on my flute, but too bad band is over and I don't have a sheet music anymore

  • Are you kidding me? I played this song as a freshman in high school. This is one of Sousa's easier marches.

  • Very nice (Sounds tierce, I know, but still.) I myself am a fan of Musicals, and I like how in the musical Assassins, they worked the beginning of this march no neatly into the song, "How I Saved Roosevelt." Look it up!

  • This is the first Sousa music I ever heard

  • I loved this song, im in 9th grade and play 1st horn.

i only problem was.. my mouth was worn out, so finally when we played Nimrod my high notes were kinda sharp..
