  • Awesome.

  • mike mills does actually have a good voice

  • unfortunately this MTV unplugged never came out on CD.....sad

  • 3 people don't know a good group when they see/hear one! This is the best version of this song! Love REM!

  • 3 people were brought here by very WET Troglodites.

  • Best cover ever? No.

  • I think the 'bah bah bah...' might have been inspired by another great Troggs song: "With A Girl Like You"

  • If Michael Stipe sang Bah bah bah ba ba ba without music it would still sound fantastic.

  • fanfuckingtastic

  • WET WET WET THE BACK OF ME BOLLIX!!!!!

  • what is this bah, ba, ba, but, bah crap?

  • @ultrakool it's not crap!

  • @shinyguts you don't even speak english - so why are you trolling your third world shite on an REM clip? you must be very bored and very desperate. can't you find a third world song from your own culture to troll?

  • BTW Love is not around two people.

  • Understated excellence. RIP REM.

  • the original is better

  • going back in time 20 years.

  • THE FROGGS VERSION WAS BETTER! RIBBIT - RIBBIT RIBBIT!

  • @TheEliteM0NK3Y - WHAT NOISE DO TROGGS MAKE?

  • @HEARTHEANGELSVOICES Tribbit , Tribbit , Tribbit....

  • Love this song. Use to watch it on VHS. Good times.

  • And it's all gone now. :o/

  • Definitely more cowbell!!! lol

  • THIS is what MTV used to be.

Actual musicians, performing songs they wrote, playing real instruments.

MTV used to bring all kinds of music to a broader audience: Headbanger's Ball, 120 Minutes, Yo! MTV Raps, etc.

    Unplugged was genius.

I am sad that MTV lost its way. It brought unknown artists to our attention, and we loved it.

Wasn't around for Elvis, but I will always, always remember this new tv channel that opened my ears, mind, and heart to that incredible era of music.

  • @redwhiteandblue26 now we got You Tube.... :)

  • @EnjoyTheSurface

    Amen!

    = )

  • Love it, but it could have used bongos....let Stipe shake the maracas...and MORE COWBELL!

  • @willard39 weedian slip

  • Love it, but it could have used bongs....let Stipe shake the maracas...and MORE COWBELL!

  • Wet wet wet fucked this song totaly up

    thumbs up if agree

  • @DeineMudda313313 Definitely! REM's version is MUCH better, should have been released as a single. I would DEFINITELY have bought it!! :)

  • When I hear him sing I always wonder why Mike Mills wasn't more involved in side projects (not counting The Hindu Love Gods. Warren did the singing)

  • Wet Wet Wet ruined this song for ever!!

  • the last pah-pah-pah is great

  • @sandordeak yeah. the dude has a great voice doesn't he. dammit he should of pah pah'd like that through the whole song! lol

  • Truly beautiful

  • I heard this one time almost 20 years ago and have been looking for it ever since. I started to think it was in my imagination that rem had anything to do with this song and then wet, wet, wet, did it and it wasn't as good and just drove me crazier that I couldn't find this song.

  • it reminds me of my childhood days

  • Michael Stipe always reminds me john malkovich xDD

    Love REM...

  • yeeaaah

  • backing vocals magnificent.

  • REM is the most unique band I know of

  • 1) Love to see Peter play the mandolin.

    2) Mike looks like he's gonna eat his microphone. I like his vocals.

    3) I would imagine that Bill's arms are tired, from all that shaking ('whole lotta shakin' goin' on!')

    4) Michael will soon turn into a sheep. Baah bah bah bah baaaaah indeed!

    REM = best band ever

  • @rem2267 Someday he's going to learn how to actually play it . :-)

  • @Nigelxman And if he can learn it someday, you might be able to as well. Don't give up hope.

  • @rem2267 I was actually just repeating what Peter Buck once said about his mandolin playing. You are correct though..he's better than me. lol

  • @Nigelxman - Alright, well next time you're on 'Unplugged', you can (IF you can), take that opportunity to tell/show Pete and Mike how to play their instruments.

  • @rem2267 Dude what did you NOT understand about my last post? lol Peter Buck is the one who said that he hopes to someday learn how to play the mandolin, implying that he was still very new to it. You seriously need to lighten up and perhaps get your head out of Peter Bucks ass. :-)

  • @Nigelxman So... in time... in tune... simple part, but well played... doesn't sound to bad to me. just saying. What do you want? Mandolin riffs on something like this? Don't think so.

  • What a bunch of hippies! I LOVE it!

  • Przeagent, it wa written by the troggs not wet wet wet (They killed it)

  • @jonesy886 It was written bye Reg Pressley. The rest of The Troggs never had a lot to do with it.I like Reg he is into UFO and crop circles. He has spent a lot of cash to on his research.Being a old hippy and every thing. But this song will be his real legacy.

  • i really like this cover

  • Best cover ever alright.

  • Mills is great, but he looks more like John Denver in this video! I like him more when he has his blond curls ;-)

  • imagine making a better song with just one dude?

  • 5 stars
