  • This is interesting. I have always been fascinated by the parapsychology of consumer perception. I guess that's why I wrote my book The 5 Step Guide to Empowering Consumers.

  • That's it. But there is one thing an individual can do to overcome the effect of this buyer motivation. To the shegrin of the marketing psychologists, it is called {{{THE SHOPPING LIST}}}!!! Dooo-dooot (my rendition of the Jaws music....) Never enter a store without it and never depart from its directive.

  • 0:49 looks like the scene in the beginning of The Big Lebowski.

  • This is very interesting! I'm a psychology undergraduate and will soon be doing my dissertation on online consumer psychology. Any resources good for this area of research?

  • Edward Bernays... Freud Family.....gustoff somebody..... eh... that will get you started.

  • Thanks, great ideas! I've done my dissertation now (ended up doing psychology of the Internet) but hopefully doing postgraduate soon and was considering these approaches.

  • . you tube " Crowd Psychology & Manipulation " 12 Videos by Nuffrespect How the masses are manipulated.

Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud's nephew, considered one of the fathers of the field of public relations, combining the ideas of Gustave Le Bon and Wilfred Trotter on crowd psychology with the psychoanalytical ideas of his uncle, was pretty much the first to use this field of study to manipulate public opinion via. the subconscious at the turn of the 20th century.

  • This is nothing new....But she explained it in an ordinary and simple way! I liked it!

  • It is made for my George Brown College students who are taking the elective called Psychology of Consumer Behaviour.

  • it's a college course..answers and more questions always follow

  • And why i have to pay for my needs?

  • good video summary, but without the world of marketing, we dont know what we need. they identify our needs, then they make money by safisfying our needs. so they do the hard work.

  • but do we need so much or are we convinced by marketing that we do?

  • Humans got unlimited wants, once its trigered what that want is it, then we are convinced that we need that. For example, going to space was no need before, now the possibility to fly there and come back becomes a need for some people.
