It's a good question - but Tony Parsons would answer it by saying something to the effect that nobody wakes up...the idea of being separate dissolves, or, if you like, 'oneness' wakes up to being oneness. There never was an individual, it was just oneness hiding from itself. All along your consciousness was simply oneness "consciousing". Awakening is when oneness realises this - there's only oneness.

@EnlightenedJourney There's nowhere to go and nothing to get...once you've merged with the Infinite void. At the moment, however, you still have your body and many responsibilities, especially if you live in a Western culture. Therefore, your comment sounds a bit pretentious, but that's okay. Reality, however, is always in the now. Right now, you have to "get" money to pay your bills and taxes. You have to "go" to work to do just that, at least for most of us. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
